  1. AWESOME THREAD IS AWESOME! i love seeing other people's autographs and reading about why they are special to them. here are some of my favourites. (In no order) 1. Every cast member from Collateral Beauty who attended the London Premiere, including Will Smith, Naomie Harris, Dame Helen Mirren and Edward Norton i got to meet Will Smith and Helen Mirren, 'nuff said, really. i dont do many premieres, but ive had a lot of success with the ones ive been too. Ive been a fan of most of the main cast for a LONG time and i was hoping i'd get just one auto from any of them. i ended up getting everyone who attended the premiere, I even got a photo with Will Smith so i was BUZZING. there were loads of dealers there trying to get autos to sell and they all were moaning how edward norton never signs for people. he did about 3 autos on the way in then all the dealers left. 10 minutes later he comes back out and signs for the 6 or so of us who were still waiting. nice getting one over on the dealers! 2. Another Premiere: X-Men Apocalypse. another where my friend and I were SUPER successful. we got autos from Jennifer Lawrence, James Mcavoy, Oscar Isaac, Evan Peters, Olivia Munn and LOADS of others (although for the 2nd time at a premiere Sophie turner skipped past me. WHY WONT SHE LOVE ME?!?!?!?!?!?!!) we got there quite late but ended up right in front of the interview stage so the guests would come straight to us after being on stage. Jennifer Lawrence is GORGEOUS in person. 3. George A Romero sad to hear about him passing away not too long ago. i met him at LFCC and he was genuinely one of the nicest guests ive ever met. i was expecting him to be, for lack of a better word, a bit of a butthead, but he was SO SO SO nice. he seemed so genuinely excited and happy to be at the con, meeting fans. an absolute gentleman and wonderful person. im lucky enough to have had a friend snap a picture of me shaking his hand as well. I also got this dvd cover signed by Tom Savini at last years LFCC as well. 4. JK Rowling Im a BIG harry potter fan. over the past few years ive been dealing with mental health issues which have greatly affected me. fortunately i am improving slowly, which is good. One of the things that helped me get through a lot of the really bad days was escaping into books. i binge read the HP series repeatedly and i wrote to JK Rowling explaining how much her books had helped me through the bad times and gave me an escape into a world where i didnt have to worry about anything. i recieved this signed postcard back which i thought was a pre print for a while until i realised it had a hologram sticker on the back. a bit of research later and i found that she only puts those stickers on legit autograhps and she only responds to letters which she feels deserves a reply, so this one is very special to me. 5. The Walking Dead cast I am a HUGE walking dead fan, so every guest ive met and every person who ive received a reply from when writing to them through the mail trying to get autographs is VERY special to me. also, Lauren Cohan is a goddess and i love her a little bit. 6. Charlie Adlard (The Walking Dead Artist) Ive been lucky enough to meet Charlie Adlard 3 times, and each time he has signed a comic and done a sketch for me. i have a large Walking Dead collection and these are one of my most prized possessions! the first one (the middle comic on the picture) involved a trip from peterborough to wrexham, my first ever overnight stay for a con, a surprise £150 train fair because the lady on the train was a royal pain in the bum and a 4 hours wait in the morning to make sure i was at the front of his queue at the convention. 7. Game of Thrones S5 World Premiere a friend of mine won a competition and took me as his plus one to the GoT S5 World premiere at the tower of london. we got to go into a VIP fan area in the moat and got LOADS of autographs. i got all of these, plus a load more in my autograph book as well. some of the squiggles include kit harrington, nikolai coster waldau, alfie allen and gwendoline christie. ones i got in my book included conleth hill, isaac hempstead wright and jonathan pryce. Ive got a load of other autographs as well. all of them are on my autograph collecting page on facebook: Joshs Autograph Adventures (it wont let me link the page directly) Other honourable Mentions: My HP Poster, signed by all the HP guests at this years LFCC Ophelia Lovibond and Lew Temple, because they both wrote notes back to me and SIr Ian McKellen, because he was kind enough to also get Sir Patrick Stewart to also sign it for me

  9. 1st time I've not seen a real marquee top must see guest in Glasgow. I'll get my Aliens poster filled up some more but no pics or talks that to get excited about. Used to think Newcastle was a bad line up every year but this year Glasgow is a huge let down. Seen a few more announced today and even an hour ago but still disappointing line up compared to other years Thankfully I got my fix at the London show so it'll be merch browsing mainly for me.

  14. I ordered the 8x10 sleeves and 6x9 photo sleeves from Arrowfile myself, and spoke to the guys at the store who were very helpful, saying that autographs and photos will be fine in these sleeves.

  18. sickkgirl, I have hidden a number of your posts because due to the wording I can't leave them on without potentially risking legal issues. I just got what I had heard confirmed because I didn't want to put out wrong info. Weekend of Hell is no longer run by the original Person. Showmasters' Partner who they are running the Comic Con Europe Events with has now taken over.

  19. Yup I was there as well. Cheap, simple and nice pretty unlimited breakfast. They even gave me a double room this year for myself :-D for £50 it's hard to argue.

  20. He's a great guy! I met him in Bournemouth Film and Comic Con a while ago and he was very chatty and super friendly. I remembered he talked to me about his holiday in France. I didn't meet him this year but I saw him while queueing for Jessica Henwick's autograph, and it was nice to see that even though he was way busier than before, he was still the same lovely engaging guest! :-)

  21. I stayed at London Visitors hotel. It's ridiculously near the Olympia. If you don't mind walking up stairs and shared bathrooms, it's actually a fairly nice place by London standards - the staff was friendly, the rooms comfy and clean, and the breakfast great. And the price was unbeatable, at least at the time we booked it (March I believe).

  26. I got mostly 8x10s from the tables, but I do have a couple of items you guys might like. Kevin Smith signed my copy of this book: https://www.amazon.com/Clerks-Chasing-Amy-Two-Screenplays/dp/0786882638 As you can see, it's a copy that has seen some use - it has a lot of sentimental value for me (among other things, I had a fight with my girlfriend over it). Out of all the stuff of his I own, this one is the most special to me, so that is what I chose for him to sign. With two main protagonists (three if Tom hadn't cancelled, sob sob ) and two regulars, this year's LFCC seemed like a very good time to start an Iron Fist poster. With help of a couple friends, we found a cool cast shot, photoshopped in the rest of the characters, and printed it on very nice paper. I hope I can get the rest of them someday, but even if it stays just with this four, it was a very cool and fun project. Worth it just for Wai Ching Ho's reaction alone!

  27. Hi guys :-), Did you meet Valene Kane? How was your experience with her? She was one of the highlights of my week-end. First I met her for her solo photo shoot on Saturday, she was lovely and engaging. Saying hi to everyone, asking for our names. I really felt welcome. On the Sunday, I got an autograph and thought she was very friendly and interested in what you had to say. We had a chat about The Fall and her heartbreaking scene, I told her it was brilliant acting and really hard to watch. She thanked me and said it meant a lot to her. We also talked about Lyra Erso and the book Catalyst, I told her all my friends cried at the end of Rogue One but I also cried at the beginning. We agreed that Lyra is a great character and that it is too bad she has so little screen time. I really enjoyed the experience as I talked a few minutes with her, and she was responsive and genuine. I also love the autograph, she took her time to do it and it is very personalised. My last interaction with her was Sunday afternoon for the duo with Mads Mikkelsen, she actually remembered my name, I was really surprised and I told her that I was impressed by her memory. She was so nice I almost forgot one of my favourite actors was here (I'm joking, Mads Mikkelsen is a great guest too)! I really hope she comes back :-)

  28. I saw lots of amazing cosplayers. The most memorable off the top of my head are: - One Comedian who, apart from a very nice costume, absolutely looked like Jeffrey Dean Morgan! - King Arthur and his squire from the Holy Grail - Cockknocker and Chronic. - Doctor Strange, Kaecilius and the Ancient One. - The Fawlty Towers family.

  34. Ooooh, I made your list! :) It was a very nice surprise when you came up to say hello. Pleasure to meet you in person! Cool reading about your experiences. Nice story about Tricia and the cat sketch. Sorry about your experience with Wil - I only met him for a photoshoot and it was very fun for me. There's always the risk of catching them at a bad time.

  37. Hello, I'm Lisa, twentysomething and Dutch. I've met a fair few people from the forum at the LFCC Geek-off, but I finally decided to stop lurking and actually join the forum so I can join the convo here *woohoo*. From September on I'll be living in the Netherlands, but will still visit a fair few events in the UK over the year. I cosplay various characters from various fandoms such as Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Disney and Marvel & DC. - Lisa

But my first wish ist Timothy Olyphant and if you have some more money to spare - pleeeeeease get back my love Jeremy Renner! That would be all. Thank you! :)

  40. Arnold Schwarzenegger was my idol growing up so meeting him would be awesome. Having already met Neve Campbell and Adrienne King, a photo op with Jamie Lee Curtis would complete my 'scream queens' trio nicely. Some of the big Walking Dead names would be good, Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, Jeffery Dean Morgan ... And as a huge X-Men and LOTR fan, Sir Ian McKellen would be superb. Chuck Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman in as well while we're at it.

  41. For someone who is a huge star now, he made me feel incredibly appreciated, and all it took was 15 seconds in the afternoon photoshoot on sunday! Shaking hands, asking names just to say nice to meet you afterwards, such a true gentleman and an incredible rolemodel for anyone! I just remember a little fun moment of when we were taking our picture together. I quickly moved my hand to point at Benedict and just before the photo was taken, Benedict noticed and quickly tried to move his hand upwards. The resulting photo has his hand lower than the position I remember he raised it to (plus his left arm is slightly blurry as a result ), and I just remember him saying "You beat me to it!". Honestly, the highlight of the weekend, and a dream come true that I never considered in a million years!

  44. I am unhappy because this photo is not to the high standard that the showmasters photoshoots normally are. I don't use this forum on a regular basis so I had no idea that this "super bright flash" was mentioned anywhere before the event. If you compare my Pamela Anderson photo to any of my other showmasters photoshoots it's quite clear what I mean, I give an example below of the normal quality of a photo taken at a showmasters event I think that the least Showmasters should do is give everyone the digital copy for free to allow us to improve the pic ourselves
