What a man. We almost missed his shoot as we totally forgot about it. We were walking past the oval office prop when we remembered about it and it had 15 mind left. Obviously because of Lynz' wheelchair we (or rather I) had to leg it all the way to the photo area (A I think). We had diamonds so no problem. Got there with 10 mins to spare, ushered in through the exit due to the throng of people waiting for the next shoot. They halted the queue to let Lynz get out of her chair onto her crutches for her shoots (which she always does) and Martin got up off his stool to guide her to the area, talking to her all the time. He then did the same to get her back in the chair, even picking up her coat that had fallen in the floor and her water flask just before she sat on it. Then had a chat to me as I got mine (much to the annoyance of photographer and his helper) but I didn't want to be rude. He was asking me things not the other way rohnd. Later I went to get his autograph alone and if you read my previous post in another thread he was may late mother's favourite actor and WW her top show. He remembered me and asked why my "wife" wasn't there and checked she was OK and that I hadn't just abandoned her. my Mum and I were never closer than when we talked about WE and she had a small ceramic tile with Bartlett for America on it which as I explained all this to him I broke down. Again. Nothing but love from him. Gave me a tissue and held my arm saying nice things about a lady he never knew. I have done literally hundreds of the guest interactions over the years but I have never ever been so emotionally connected to a guest. I cannot thanks this man enough for pretty much giving me closure over my Mother's death. My God I'm away again typing this. Thank you Martin with all my heart.9 points

Had an absolutely fantastic day with my daughter experiencing our first con and as difficult as it was navigating through the crowds and the pain my daughter is in now with her legs, We would really like to come back again! Loved the atmosphere, loved meeting the celebs especially Aimee Garcia, Matthew Lillard and Rob Morgan who were so lovely to my daughter Matthew Lillard even gave my daughter a free autograph after she went up specially to get one for her little sister (who stayed home with grandparents) as she adores him as shaggy. I loved hearing Matthew Lillard at his talk and I really respect him both as an actor and a person cant wait for tomorrow to finally meet Tom Ellis (though he did brush past us in the photo area and we were so pleased to have seen him ). Also meeting John Barrowman and having photo with Matthew Lillard :)5 points

What a fantastic start to the day. Went to get a Christopher Eccleston vq. The lovely man in charge of the queue was about to give me 186 then said as there was no-one there I could go straight up. Christopher Eccleston was really chatty and obviously enjoying himself.5 points

Well, that's me done for this year. I would like to thank everyone who convinced me to buy the extra tickets, was totally worth it. Until next year!4 points

Words well said @EllaBlair (If anything a little annoyed you beat me to it!!). Thank you Showmasters for bringing such a fabulous guest to us this weekend. I always thought meeting one of my idols would be memorable. He was so welcoming and gracious with his time, he exceeded my expectations by some margin. A truly wonderful human spirit. Hope he enjoys his first convention experience as much as we have seeing him. Anything you can do to convince him to return for his second would be hugely appreciated!* *Except by my bank manager, just possibly...4 points

Had a really amazing day today, it was full and maybe abit too full but it was worth it. Hard to pick one or two very special ones but I can mention a few. Christina Ricci was a dream, so sweet and kind. Carrie Anne Moss just the same as Ms. Ricci. Style, class and so cool. Lana Parrilla was so kind and very curious, asked me all kinds of question. And one of my very fav signing..with a purple pen. Devon Murray could talk my ears off, wanted to know everything. Looking forward to the photo op tomorrow. Well, just a handful of who I met. Already looking forward tomorrow morning.4 points

As announced yesterday, i saw broo again and say hi this time Nice little talk in the morning. A bit disappointed about Jenna Coleman, one of the guests i wanted to meet the most, and few interactions at photos and auto. Peter Purves was a fantastic guest to meet, i'va talked a little bit whith eccleston so better than last year :p Michael shanks very funny in his talk, a good day too.4 points

Here's a dilemma. At the Martin Sheen Oval Office photo the lady in charge told everyone individually not to shake Martin's hand but you could put your hand on the back of the chair. In I go for my photo. Martin offered me his hand to shake. Well I am either very polite or very rebellious but I went against instructions and shook hands. Martin was a true gent throughout the session. Another memorable moment.4 points

So glad I ended up buying two photoshoots in the end - they are probably going to be my favourites of the whole event! Had such a laugh.4 points

Day 2 went well for me! Only 1 I didn't manage to get was Ian Somerhalder as trying for him on VQ, had circa 124 VQ ticket, and they were still DP only around 4:20 so figured didn't have a chance today. Got Jenna Coleman added to my auto from Samuel Amderson's appearance in Belfast in 2015. Emilie De Ravin was favourite auto to get today, she was still cheery and bubbly after 4pm! Favourite photoshoot was Jenna Coleman, she was striking random poses with everyone in the queue!4 points

^^^This this this!!! I am still on an absolute high and, being honest, feeling rather emotional getting to meet him. He was lovely, lots of smiles for people and I will never be over the fact I got a hug from him for my photo (will try to post that later). Thank you too from me, Showmasters, dream come true4 points

He was very lovely! Got a personalized auto and a handshake. And a hug pose for the photo4 points

Updated Defenders poster with Rob Morgan and Ben Barnes added. Bless Ben, I forgot to say 'it's a paint pen, don't press the nib down' and lo and behold spillage happened, but it's not bad in comparison to what could have happened and I am just considering it a little apt, that like the character of Billy, the auto is a little screwed up. Poor chap was mortified though! Not his fault at all and 10 minutes with a fan on it and no tilting so the paint didn't spread and it's fine4 points

Jason Isaacs. I believe his talk today was free on the theory that it would prompt people to buy autos/DPs when they saw how great a guest he was. It worked.3 points

Sometimes it happens. There were signs at the cash table that Tom Ellis wasn't personalizing unfortunately. Out of the blue he asked my name and I got a personalisation after all.3 points

The standing caused one of the worst comments I ever heard since I started going to conventions. A woman behind me in the queue for Robert Carlyle's photoshoot started complaining why attendees in wheelchairs were getting priority cause they were already sitting all day. I am aware I should have at the very least asked her if she had lost her mind, but for the first time in quite a while I had been at a loss for words. Maybe should have channeled my inner bear and just clawed her eyes out.3 points

Yup. Agree with both Nate and Raylenth. Hayden Christensen wasn't personalising but was still a great experience to meet him. Lana Parilla wasn't either and she was nothing but incredible to my little grandaughter. She doesn't care that islt doesn't say To Holly. She will remember the experience of her first signed pic for the rest of her life.3 points

He was so lovely and very funny! I asked if I could shake his hand (I always ask first) and he laughed Of course and then once we had was like "that'll be £130 for that"3 points

She was lovely!! Had a really wonderful moment with her for autos. I'd done a drawing for her to sign and she was so kind and complimentary about it. I explained that I had wanted to say thank you to her as a couple years ago one of my sons became very ill and we had to go into hospital and that it was a very stressful and upsetting time and that it was late one night and I'd needed to just have the TV on to try to switch off while lying in the hospital bed with my lil guy and that Horrible Histories came on which at the time I hadn't realised she was in. It was so funny that I'd laughed for the first time in days and my lil guy, who was so ill he was just grey and so weak, he heard me laugh and that made him giggle and that had been such an important moment to me and that I will always be grateful to her that her acting brought a beautiful and special moment in a dark time. She listened so intently, was asking lots of questions and just engaging so much back and forth, she was just so so lovely. Amazing encounter that will stay with me a long time <33 points

Chairs would help or at least a few in a designated seating area for people with extra assistance. I struggled today, i asked a crew member at Lana's queue for a seat and she said oh these are for the crew. That was a bit disheartening too considering I was almost close to collapsing right in front of her.2 points

As the bear says. In my opinion it should be the default setting that you don't expect a personalisation and then if you get one, yay. Indeed no rules have been broken as there has never been any mention of people getting stuff personalised, with the DP's or without and it shouldn't be expected just because you have the pass. Diamonds only guarantee you getting an autograph, nothing else, not extra time with the guests for one on one chats like some assume, or anything else. If you have levels of expectation other than that then you may be often disappointed I'm afraid. Yes you can buy the stuff separately for less than the DP but you won't get to meet them, and have much interaction at all, nor get your own item signed in a place and pen colour you prefer. My interactions with Ben Barnes, Gina Torres and Zach Q, though brief were personal and much nicer than buying an auto off a stall.2 points

Can’t speak highly enough of Hayden, top guest! Took his time with the autos, personalised, asked you what colour pen and where and if you wanted character name etc, like he wanted you to go away with exactly what you wanted. Again, really nice in the photos, greeting you head on and shaking hands, he just appreciated everyone that came to meet him.2 points
