Manchester and Brimingham. Were my main pick as there only a 1hr travel by car for me.

Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds.

My main motivations (aside from being Mancunian) were
- Ease of access with major transport links of all kinds
- Plenty of nearby hotels
- Lots of potential convention venues
- For manc and b'ham there have been sucessful events at these in the past, and other conventions have been very recently sucessfully held.
- All within relatively short driving distance of a major airport.
So Say We All

Coventry, Ricoh Arena, masses of parking and right next to a shopping centre.

SM did that already...it didn't pan out all that well!  :whistling:  it's not all that easy to get to if you come by any other menthod other than by car! and there's nothing else really there!

atleast if it was Birmingham (which is expensive to get to from London, an open return is £45! :o, but, only like 1hour40mins or something) there is the city centre not all that far away from the NEC so people who come as a family have the option of shopping :D (not that I'm sure the NEC is an option  :()

surfy sah xx

I did not know this...Thank you Surfy.

In that case I would like to change my vote to Birmigham NEC or NIA
I have met and/or have autographs from...

THE INCREDIBLE HULK (TV) - THE TERMINATOR MOVIES - THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. - BATMAN - DEAD MAN'S CHEST, UNDERWORLD - HEROES - THE APPRENTICE - SUPERMAN - FARSCAPE - FORBIDDEN PLANET - POLICE SQUAD - NAKED GUN - STARGATE - V - THE REANIMATOR - THE MATRIX, MOMENTO - BABY'S DAY OUT - HARRY POTTER - LIVING DEAD HEXOLOGY - BABYLON 5 - JAMES BOND - STAR WARS - Dr. WHO - TORCHWOOD - DOG SOLDIERS - EVENT HORIZON - OPERATION GOOD GUYS - BUFFY - ANGEL - STAR TREK - LORD OF THE RINGS - PREDATOR - MANHUNTER - BLADERUNNER - BATTLESTAR GALACTICA - 24 - BLAKE'S SEVEN - RED DWARF - TOP BRITISH COMEDY - CLASH OF THE TITANS - FANDERSON - ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES - WWE/TNA/INDIE PRO WRESTLING - C.S.I. FRANCHISE

Easily 90% of these autographs are thanks to SHOWMASTERS, due to them, my signature was getting just too long...

SO IT WAS THEIR FAULT REALLY! :)

As Surfy said the NEC is probably not an option.

Why aren't Milton Keynes or London on these lists?
Because they are looking to diversify geographically rather than add new events in conurbations where they already have existing ones?

But in an ideal world, and in convenience for me, they'd just go ahead and hold every event worth holding at the MK Stadium. :F

 Rainbow destiny!

I agree, but we are a bit off the beaten track here, and at least for the summer 2012, the Olympics will have a negative effect on rail transport and hotel availabilty in ths south east. Nice thought, though that we could have a local con, especially re Star Trek....
As an oldie, I do have a bias for older cult series, but realise that younger fans have different priorities.

Manchester! XD As the other locations are too far to get to without a car or splashing out on £100+ for trains.

Just call me Emma :)

I voted

1 - Norwich (despite it being a boring city. I spent 40 long years there one weekend last year.)

2 - None of the above. (Too far to travel by public transport. Add that to the cost of various autographs and you have to question the finances)

3 - Southampton - (not a place I've been too but at least the south of the country gets represented)

Are you looking for locations just for signings like Collectormania or for cons as well?
I have met:

Colin Baker, Sarah Sutton, Nicola Bryant, Sophie Aldred, Sylvester McCoy, Nicholas Courtney
Brian Croucher, Gareth Thomas
Michael Sheard, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Sally James,  Linda Lusardi, Captain Sensible, Doc Cox, Janet Ellis,  Lennie Bennet, Jim Davidson, Russell Hunter, Angus Lennie, Philip Madoc
Leslie Grantham, Anita Dobson,
Rene Auberjonois, Holly Marie Combs
David Taylor, Henry Cooper, Kathy Taylor, Lennie Lawrence
Mickie James, Nick Dinsmore (WWE- Eugene), Drew Garroway (WWE -  Drew McIntyre) Britani Knight (WWE -  Paige) Rowdy Ricky Knight, Mark Haskins

I voted for Birmingham full stop because the only other event in the area has gone from bad to worse just altely and I think that Showmasters would do a show to beat all shows at the NEC or thereabouts. I hope that Birmingham gets the vote

I voted for Birmingham for a couple of reasons. 1 the current events in the area are getting worse each year and have no big name stars, and 2 I don't drive, so it would be a lot closer and easier to get to(which isn't to say that we won't be coming to the LFCC this year)
