havent mentioned the biggest issue of all.... A celing tile FALLING down thankfully no one was hit.  no idea how they werent tho as it was in the busy auto area near RDA/Alyson Hannigan etc.

Ahh the result of the water leak I think. They had a dustbin and a lot of towels around it to catch the steady trickle.

Yes!   I was in the Kevin Smith auto queue at the time and just heard the noise then the commotion.  so glad no one was hurt.

Not read through others yet but mine were the lack of Cloakrooms available when needed on Sat.  Level 2 has 2 open that I found out in the end.

Nothing really SM can do but the pushing and shoving going on for a VQ ticket for Alyson Hannigan was uncalled for.   The lad handing them out must of thought he was being attacked by wolves.

If it carries on like that you'll need security in the area soon to deal with those going overboard.  Never seen it like that today ( fair enough I've only been 3 times now I think).

I'd put it down to a bunch of people having a bad day already all in the same place.

Unfortunately the cloakrooms are handled by the venue too. I have put them on my list, but I really have no idea if SM can do anything about it

Think the frustrating thing is that I was guided to two cloakrooms by staff which both were closed and ended up being told by a guest.

Would be handy if the venue could let you know before the event as having to carry a weekend rucksack around for the first few hours definitely took a small shine off the morning.

I was there when it fell down, yeah it was fortunate that no one was underneath but it was just a sodden ceiling tile so hopefully if anyone had been under it they would have been OK.  It was well away from the guest tables'.

Yeah the fact that after searching through the entire venue the only open cloakroom we found was in YALC.  Appreciate it's the venue but for an event of LFCC's size they should know to have them open.

Haven't had time to read through but my only issue today, though it turned out fine, was the fact that the crew and pit boss running Mads shoot had zero clue about the ticket gremlins - they hadn't been informed that that there would be people presenting tickets with unreadable batches like i had as a result of the gremlins and the fact that they should treat them as batch O.

I couldn't mention it at the booth as it happened at 5pm and between queuing for Mads, leaving and rushing for BC's and then getting back for Mads's which was delayed until after 6pm there wasn't an opportunity.

QS, just to mention, I think it might have been missed when talking about the entry early on in this thread, it's mentioned that the extra help folks were let in at 8.55. Didn't see this myself, just going from a post on page 2, I think.

After the 2015 chaos (I didn't attend last year), all IS far better this year, so the Showmasters team deserve credit for their hard work in turning things around...

However, I arrived for the Tom Wilson tombstone photoshoot that was included with my diamond pass at around 15:15 yesterday (on all staff schedules, and those shown around the venue, it was due to end at 15:30) only to be told that "he started early and finished early" and had now gone...

Am I missing something here, or doesn't this defeat the purpose of a timetable?

The worst thing was that nobody I spoke to seemed to be able to offer an explanation, or definite answer/solution and one of the SM crew was very short and rude with me (which is baffling, because I remained pretty damn chilled, despite the mixup)...

I was passed from the photoshoot area to the information desk, then from the information desk to the sales desk, then the sales desk back up to the photoshoot area. The end result being that I should be able to use my diamond pass (marked Saturday) today. I seriously hope that's the case...

But dayummm SM... Please address this!

Go to the extrahelp table in the normal queueing area please. They will be able to help you stay safe. If the crew at the entrance should question you going in because of the Gold Pass please tell them you need to go to the Extra Help Desk.

Is this for when I go in this morning? Sorry to be a pain, but where is the extra help desk?

I was a bit later getting in yesterday (around 9:30am), was pretty insane outside even by then. Queues of people were being escorted by security, joining the backs of other queues, being split up again if there were any gold entries.

I was doing my best to find entrance H as recommended on here this week by you fine mods for extra help/disabled etc and was sent to five different entrances. At the fourth the security chap sent me around one more corner to the left. At the fifth the guy said no you were at the right one before. In the end he said "follow me mate, I'll get you through" (words I instinctively trusted) and got me the extra help and carer bands I needed.

I appear to have completely bypassed any security checks however, but I'm incredibly grateful to the chap for the effort he made to at least get me in. Would have raised this at the info desk whilst I was there but the queues were huge and I had to dash off for my first photoshoot.

still, once that was over I had a wonderful day asides from the initial getting in issues.

I went as general admission. Overall I found every aspect of the day very good, be it getting to the venue, parking, getting in, getting advice, getting autographs and photoshoots.

The usual issues around photoshoots remains year on year but having attended for so many years I know it is going to happen so I never fret about it- I know I am going to get my photo taken so I always stay relaxed in the middle of the melee

My one sole gripe tghis year was my photoshoot with Pamela (covered in another thread)- the quality of the picture is terrible as a result of the bizarre lighting choice- thankfully though the 'coronas' in front of my eyes have disappeared today!

I still can't get over how that managed to happen in what must have been the only open floor space in the entire venue. I was just passing through at the time and am still shocked that no one got hit or soaked. There was crew on the scene almost immediately (I was heading towards one to tell them what happened when I saw them beckon another one over who came and took over the situation.)

I was hoping they'd stopped all that - happened to me with the Sigourney weaver powerloader shoot of all things.  Don't think I've lived it down yet to this day.

It thought me to never book stuff up on the last day and try to get main autos / photos  booked up on the Fri / Sat and leave Sunday free for any mishaps / mistakes and lesser priority guests.

This is most certainly going to be addressed, yes. I will make sure of that.

I'm really sorry. That's genuinely the first time ever I heard of a photoshoot ending 15 minutes early.

So this morning (Sunday) the Gold pass entry was much better and we got to the guest area. GA were appearing at 9am, just as it should be. Much better this morning.

But, why were no VQ tickets being handed out to gold pass members? All of us were made to queue, with none of the queues handing out VQs except Alison Hanigan. The crew said they had not been told to hand out tickets. I complained to the pit boss who said they should not have been handing out any tickets until authorised.

Can SM clarify if VQ tickets should be handed out to GP pre 9am (as they were yesterday) or should we have to wait until 9am?

That's something I need to check on with TooTall, sorry. The way I have seen it done was the start handing out VQ tickets when the Gold Pass holders got to the area, not making them line up. There may have been a reason for a change that I am not aware of due to not being on location.

I had an Extra help band and went in at 8.55. as soon as I got to the auto area I was knocked to the ground by the mass of GA people running in a stampede! the very young crew on the area at the time did nothing 1 pitboss was shouting stop running but this did nothing at all. I also want to point out that if you don't have a diamond pass the odds of you meeting people are VERY slim. it seems to me that not only have the prices gone up but soon diamond pass is going to be the only way to go. I was told at the benedict cumberbatch, christopher Lloyd, and tom Wilson that due to the amount of diamonds sold there was no point giving out the VQ'S as they will be spending the day doing the diamonds. tom Wilson got through all his around 4.30 and then went to VQ. the others did not. I don't think I will bother with next year as the costs are going up so fast. my friend paid £85.00 for a benedict cumberbatch auto and said he just signed it never even looked him in the eye and was over in under 5 seconds. his staff were rushing him, I get that he has to do other bits on the day but at £85.00 :( that SM spark was lost this year there was a lack of respect for crew and pit boss, ppl did what they wanted when they wanted even bullying one crew member to letting them in a line. at that point I piped up and they walked away and the young lady looking sad just mimed " thank you " to me. I felt so sorry for her. the lay out was a joke this year trying to get from one photo area to the other, with the amount of people trying to get autographs. the pit boss's were trying so hard to keep things safe but it was a health and safety nightmare, as that was my job for 7 years. there needs to be safe clear walk ways from each area! some of the crew were really wound up you could see it and would just shout stuff at people with a very short fuse, I think it should be made clear how demanding the job is! and not ut new crew on the photo areas as this just causes more problems.

the pitboss's and crew were trying so hard but a bad layout, not being able to get autos due to "Diamond only" and people spending so much money on a gold pass to be let in 10 mins after the ga was this years downfall. people just sitting and eating in the photo areas made it even more hot and busy and trying to get from area A to G then back to A due to clash was a total nightmare as you had around 3000 people packed in like sardines in the auto area you need to walk through to get to each area. im not having a dig at all im just pointing out that we as paying costumer's should be treated a little better, were not at school now so no need to shout at us, and I think our views need to be looked at for next time. I also feel sorry for the mods on here who cant do a thing about it and cant contact the event as they are not getting back to them. there needs to be a way that the event are on here and trying to sort the problems as this could really help. anyway it was an ok day a not as good as 2016 but an ok day, lets hope the 2017 one is as smooth as the other events

As I said before, I will bring that security issue with pushing and shoving up for sure. This has never happened before and I guess seeing this has never happened in over 10 years of events this was a totally unexpected.

Unfortunately the crew having to shout is also largely due to people simply not listening. The bad thing is that the people who do listen get shouted at as well. But one bad apple spoils it for the whole bunch. As you say, the crew have to keep up the safety. If asking 10 times nicely won't help they will start shouting.

The Diamond only question has been discussed so often, there is really not much more anyone can add. It's been made clear these guests come only as Diamond Guests or not at all. If they come as Diamond Guests you at least stand a chance, albeit a tiny one. I am also sorry your friend was disappointed in their Benedict autograph. We tried to make it clear from the start that his sessions would be busy, go fast and it was unlikely there'd be any personalisations. This was exactly what happened from what I am told.

There will always be experienced crew in key positions. But there is no way to staff the photo areas (or any other area) without new crew.

There will definitely be adjustments next year with all the incidents reported.

Photo sessions are still a free for all. I went to the Benedict Wong photo session with a batch 1 as the Benedict Cumberbatch one was running late so thought I'd get through the other one quickly then back to BC. Explained to the crew I needed to get back and got told it was a short session so they weren't bothering with batch numbers and I'd be fine. Got back to BC to be told it was too late to join the queue and to come back in the afternoon- where I now have other clashes and now need to keep asking crew to let me through quickly to get to other shoots.

You can't discuss other events on here. Not naming them does not make the post exempt from the rule, sorry. This is why your post was removed. You caught me while typing.

And just so everyone is aware: any new poster starting to praise other events straight away will have their posting rights removed immediately. It has happened way too often that other events tried to use this forum for self promotion.

The photo areas used to be more laid out. They were moved closer together after complaints it was too tough to move between them. As we learned now that isn't the final solution either.

To clarify I wasn't trying to promote other events, which is why I didn't mention them. All I'm trying to do is improve the LFCC experience for myself and everyone else in the future.

I hope you take the suggestion on board.
