mr fagan
Last year i went to the Dons Stadium for the first time and has i had a lot of stuff to carry and get signed etc i found it very awkward in literally managing to handle everything and make sure i had the right item with me to get signed plus trying not to get it all crushed by the amount of people in the q, Tom Bakers q springs to mind. Anyway my question is this. Is it all possible to hire a crew member for the day or days just to help out, in effect having another pair of arms would be a great help. I dont expect to jump the q or anything like that as i wouldnt do that anyway just because i would have a crew member with me, its just to help me out and anyone else who is attending on their own to carry items that are more valuable once signed. I am sorry if this seems like a daft question and it may be completely blitzed out of the water but hey if you dont ask you dont get. Not only that but i just thought it raise a bit more revenue for the organisers as well.
Inga
I've never heard of anyone hiring a crew member, so I can't answer that one I'm afraid, but have you thought of just paying a random someone to carry your stuff? Maybe a student from a nearby college or something, they always need extra cash!
TerraHawk
You could always use the post in service to take care of some of the less critical items, make the rest a bit easier on you. But depending on what you are prepared to pay you coud hire another pair of arms from anywhere!

Count Fooku
Can't you just use your valet? That's what I always do.
Kuato_Lives
I want my own personal SM crew member to lead around like Michonne leads around zombies with chains on The Walking Dead, I fully support this idea.
OverGeek
I know there are lockers avialable, and i have heard of crew members holding onto items for people, though not sure it'll be possible for them to follow you around they can keep items safe for you till you need them. jonathan
Is there not a friend or relative that you could drag along-even if you had to pay them. I'd rather pay someone I knew rather than a stranger if I had to.. I totally know what you mean though- I always have loads of stuff to carry and its hard work sometimes in the queues that's why I invest in the gold pass to cut down the hassle in the queues and I've managed to get a mate to come along for the help and they want to meet some guests too so its happy days all round. Moderators DavidB Posted March 31, 2013 Moderators Share Posted March 31, 2013 You could probably ask one of the guests to do it.
jael001
Or book a room in the hotel that's attached to the stadium and when you're done with your stuff, take it back to your room.
Vickie H
I think that's a bit weird! I'm sure the crew would not be impressed! lol
Squirtchy
I see your point, I just pace myself, spread out meeting the guests throughout the day! When i find a space which isn't crowded I swap what i'm carrying in my hands to something I want one of the guest to sign, when done, find someone quiet, put it in my bag, and repeat

a2k
Best thing make friends in queues and help each other out It's well known that if you talk to me in a queue I will exploit you or just bring minions trust me they are a god send U think a Showmasters event crazy to keep track of getting stuff signed try a comic event with suitcase of comics to get signed - it's months of planning and madness

rainbow_tardis
This is why I like weekend cons, I book a room at the venue and keep my stuff there until I need it. I take nothing down with me for photo ops, then go back up and grab my autograph stuff I need and just have it all to hand whilst in the queue to speed things up. At signing events, I have a rucksack and keep it in there neatly until I need it. It's not difficult to hold onto your things. Hand things you don't need like your coat in to the cloakroom and make sure you have what you do need. If you seriously have that much stuff, then bribe a friend with food or an autograph even
jonathan
The shopping trolley isn't far off I bring all my stuff in a wheeled suitcase lol! But we drive to Milton Keynes so I' think I'll just periodically grab stuff out of the boot as and when I need it. Thats what i'm doing, taking a smallish wheeled holdall around with me, will be a bit awkward once it gets busy but i plan to get all autos done asap and leave the rest fo the time for photo shoots and socialising! It's no real problem believe me...I use a large wheeled holdall and at the events last year especially LFCC it was manic but I got on OK. It was just a shock for the crewers at the photo shoots when they went to lift it up on the tables where you leave your bags as it weighed a ton lol
