We need your help on this event!

The event is going ahead but ticket sales are low, and so it will not cover it's self, but we know it will be a great weekend for everyone attending.

We do want to be able to keep running these events and for that we need all of you to help us by getting behind us and letting as many people know about this event as you can, it's so important, you can make the difference between this being the 1st of many events or the only one we run.

If you help us, we will keep growing the event and make it even more amazing and we will have an event once a year that all the fans of True Blood can go to and hang out with their friends and the cast.

I know you have heard this before but it really makes a difference as to whether this is the only one we run or if there are more, so please tell your friends on facebook, twitter, web sites and forums anywhere you can, it will all help .

Thank you all so much,

Jason

Whilst at the Eclipse Premiere in London I chatted to lots of people about the Twilight Events and also mentioned the True Blood events.

None of the people I spoke to were aware of these events. It is in all of our interests to get word out there about these fantastic events.

I would love to attend "Bitten" but unfortunatley I am unable to due to a family event. I think it is fantastic that you guys are still going ahead with the event despite the fact that ticket sales haven't been as good as we would all have hoped. This really is a credit to Showmasters and proves that they always come through for the attendees.

I hope there will be another True Blood event in the future that I am able to attend.

I am sure everyone will have a fantastic weekend!

I find the fact that people have not heard about this event amazing....do they not brows the internet ?

This event has also been added in the sci-fi mags...so much so that even my mum has seen it.

I am so excited about this event and love the fact that SM are going to run it...{ a lot could happen in 3 weeks)

I only hope that just because the top wants of the peeps are not coming that it has not put fans off...i mean we are not talking squeeing under 16 year olds..( please no harm intended... :D )

This show has to be one of the best around...it shines..( in a good way ) above anything else. The guest list is impressive. i mean not only do we have one of the headliners but the rest are fab in there own right..each having moments of brilliance on the screen.

SM big hint...PUT THE BIGGEST POSTERS UP AT LFCC ADVERTISING THE EVENT...if you fail to do this...then what can i say.

Do not know what else to say...but come on people who are not sure..you know you want to....:firedevil:

about 5ish months ago i suggested we promoted but some users thought i was being over the top. in my eyes promoting and helping out is all gd even earlier on.

I have been tellin lots of people about the event and putting it up on sites so i really hope this has helped in some small way. But at the same time i kinda wanna say to those people who shouted me down that actually i was helping and hence the new sm message.

I wasnt going to participate in the forums anymore but Ive just read this and thought Id post. I am very sad that the ticket sales are low. I LOVE Show Masters events and think theyre fun, fair and put together and run in an excellent way. I will certainly be trying to promote this on my Facebook, My Space and wherever I can.

I have spoken to soooo many fans on forums about this event and a lot of my friends too and unfortunatly the generol concensus is that they are waiting for one of the big names in the show to be announced ie Sookie, bill, jason or Eric.

Although i love the line up i do think one more big name would help tickets fly of the shelves esp if its one of the ones ive just mentioned.

I really really hope sm have one more huge trick up there sleeves for this event thats not only gonna boost attendence but assure us huge fans that bitten wont be a one time only thing.

To be fair to any organiser, it's fairly obvious that if you get one of the main cast from a show then you'll sell more tickets.

However, they're also the most expensive ones, and the ones that work a lot more, and aren't necessarily the ones that want to do events.

If this is a show that only gets support from the majority of fans based on the main cast then I'm very surprised, as to be honest there's SO MANY fantastic characters in the show that I'd love to meet, and I guess I thought/hoped other fans thought the same :D

I would be very disappointed if a huge amount of fans hold back simply because of a lack of those four mentioned. Yes, it'd be great to meet them, but they're not everything.

I agree totaly but like i said as much as i try to let ppl know how great the line up is a lot of ppl say they will only go if bill or erics there. Which is a shame as they will miss out on meeting some great guests.

I personaly would love to meet sookie but was over the moon when Hoyt was announced as he is one of my fave charcters in the show despite not being one of the main 4 and if im honest if he wasnt announced id still probably go anyway lol but i guess not everyone sees it my way.

I hope the events a huge success but like evryone else still hope for another jaw dropping guest announcement :)

Unfortunately I think two factors have helped make this a slow seller.

1. It took ages to announce the last two guests, people who had been waiting for announcements may have given up and arranged other things.

2. The convention is bang in the middle of the summer holiday! People are away!

I for one am looking forward to it like mad, and hope that more tickets are sold.

I hope to see huge posters and banners advertising it and London Film and Comi-con, not piddly litter flyers sitting on tables that no one sees.

Good luck SM! XX

I have posted on My Space Bulletins, my Facebook and will try my best to tell people on any forums I belong to. Personally, I think its a shame to expect the 3 main actors from the show to be there and I am totally happy with the ones we already have coming, Pam and Sam did it for me but the others that are coming are a fantastic added bonus. I cant wait and despite low ticket sales this will still be a great event if we all stick together.

Don't forget to use a True Blood hashtag on Twitter! That's probably the best way of getting it seen. I've posted on the fan page on FB and on Twitter. I'm not on any of the fan forums as I get my TB fix here with you lovely people. I know there are banners and buttons on www.massiveevents.co.uk/bitten of anyone knows how to post them and where then go ahead!

If people are waiting for ASkars they're going to be out of luck, his new film Battleship starts filming in Hawaii any day now.

I think the lineup is a good solid one, Sam is one of the show's leads and we have 3 really great supporting cast members. Yeah it'd be great to have more guests but it's a catch 22 situation, without more ticket sales they can't afford more guests and without more guests they're unlikely to sell many more tickets.

I so agree....For flips sake A S was only a minor character in season 1 and yes Sam is one of the top 3.

I think peoples espectations are far to high...the weekend is gonna be great and i for one am sooo looking forward to it.

I have to say at the majority of the cons i have been to its the minor guests that turn out to be the most fun, they seem less on edge, the main stars often seem to reserve themselves and hold back - other than Chris Judge (stargate for you non stargate peeps), nothing keeps him back!

I for one can not wait for this con, i have sitter confirmed and bought ticket at the weekend once it was all sorted, unfortunatley i can only come for the saturday and some may say waste of money for one day but i would spend the same at a signing event with these guys there.

As much as i love Sam i have to say i think it will be Jim that steals the show this weekend though :P

My wife and I would be there except there's a big family occasion which we have to attend on the Saturday. Regarding the line up - we went to every one of the Eclipse cons and had a brilliant time each and every time. We didn't go to the parties (except casino one for an hour as I just couldn't resist!) and so our brilliant time was purely down to the guests, whether there were 4 or 6 there, whether they were "main" cast or not.

I'm sure it will be the same with Bitten and all the guests that attend will be fab to spend time with.

We love True Blood and pretty much all the characters/cast so if there was another event in the future we would be there. With bells on.

Dammit, I was fearing a post like this. :P

I distributed a lot of flyers around my usual haunts so am hopeful of a few bites there (heh, no pun intended), and will post a reminder on my Facebook.

I fear this is going to be a re-run of Eclipse, where people were holding out for the likes of Zach Quinto and Milo Ventimiglia and missed out on some absolutely brilliant guests, just because they weren't "big" enough. And looking at it from this fanbase's perspective we have Sam, who's been a higher-rated guest overall than Alex (much as I enjoy the latter!), plus some REALLY good supporting guests, not just second extra on the right or anything. So frustrating.

I'll keep trying to spread the word!

Just thought I'd throw my 2p's worth in to this debate. Firstly I have to say I love the line up and will spread the word as much as I can. As for the reasoning behind the low ticket sales, it's probably a combination of factors. The whole ticket sales mean guests vs. guests mean ticket sales debate is a valid one, depending on whether you are an attendee or the organiser determines which side of the debate you are on. Both are valid.

I am surprised by the low ticket sales, as I thought that this event would generate a lot of interest. My guess (and it is only a guess) is that it is the late addition of the last 2 guests that has been a determining factor. There are a lot of events out there for people who like to go to conventions, and each of us has a limited amount of money we can spend on attending, so therefore it does become necessary to pick and choose where we spend it. If it looks as if an event is only going to have a couple of guests then other events start to look more attractive for our limited funds. I personally would not leave it until the last minute before deciding whether or not to go, so either book because I know there will be great guests or because I love the show so much I would be happy with just 1 or 2 guests. For me and True Blood it's the latter, but I expect other people feel differently.
