Tammy-B
Amazing opportunity: SM could invite 4 amazing guest (November or never) Because of star alignment ShowMasters could invite 4 amazing guests for Collectormania. The catch is – they could come in November or… never ever! Here is the big four: 1. DAN AYKROYD – he is promoting his Crystal Skull Vodka and is open to travel anywhere ‘til the end of the end of November. Later he’ll be doing a play in the US and from the beginning of 2011 he is doing... Ghostbusters 3! 2. MEGAN FOX – yes you can get Megan Fox, but some IQ is required. See… a) Fox doesn’t do any movie till the December the 5th She’s â€just married†with Brian Austin Green who is in a convention circuit -> invite the happy couple, and she will come with Sean (actually Fox almost came uninvited to other con in the UK earlier this year because Brian was there...really he told fans about it!!!) 3. PAMELA ANDERSON would attract fans from all around the world. Imagine “photo op†with Pam. You could ask 100 bucks and there still would be people interested in the wonderful opportunity. She’s doing a play later this year but is open for booking in November (just visit her official website ->there’s a special biz contact link!!!) 4. PAUL VERHOEVEN – the great great great director is promoting his book on Jesus. He would come to Collectormania, if you approach him not only as director but also as a writer and organize book signings.

BeatrixKiddo88
I'd meet two of those (Verhoven and Ackroyd) for sure! The other 2, meh. Pamela would more likely get my money than Fox though. I couldnt stand to be near Fox

However would jump at the chance to meet Ackroyd.
Fry
Ackroyd was looking at bringing his Chrystal Head Vodka to the UK this year as well and thats probably only way he would do it.

Tammy-B
This is a unique chance because all those stars don't do signings in their ordinary life. They are always busy, always have something to do. Also they are simply TOO BIG to sell their autos. BUT Now they are open for things like Collectormania because of various (sometimes personal) reasons... DAN AYKROYD invested 4 millions dollars in the factory which produces CRYSTAL HEAD VODKA...Also he loves to meet fans... But soon he'll be occupied with theatre work and Ghostbusters 3. You can't get Dan in 2011, 2012 etc. MEGAN FOX wants to be with her hubby all the time. They want to travel together, all 3 of them (with Brian's child)...Now she's done with ADR work for her film with Mickey Rourke. She's free in Nov. PAUL VERHOEVEN has worked more than 20 years on his book about Jesus and wants to meet as many readers/fans as possible. I'm sure he would do a lecture about his studies on Jesus...and his films too ;-)Next year he'll be prepping his new film... PAMELA ANDERSON is amazed that she's mouch bigger star in Europe than in the US. She loves her fans. she loves to meet them. She would love to do signings and photo op. (BTW - on a personal note, I did meet Pam two times and she really is someone very polite to everyone, always has time to chat with every single fan, agrees to sign any photos of her). She has a free time slot in November. (This month she's doing Nokia's promotion, in October she's doing Mercedes promotion, in Dec she's doing a pantomime...) The point is those people would come to Collectormania more because of their desire to meet the fans than to make a quick cash. Even Pam who had some financial problems lately earns 1.7 million dollars per year just by seeling her image to merchandise agencies. SM should ask those stars by presenting the beauty of Collectormania -> The International Gathering of True Fans, the chance to meet people from all around the world etc. Of course it is not extremely easy to get this people, but because of all above ... SM actually could get them. Really. As regards to profits...well I'm sure that the photo ops would be sold out very very fast even with a higher price tag. It would draw attention of the good old crew of fans but also it would bring the giant army of new people who are more casual fans and don't get superexcited excited by the presence of guests who played stormtroopers, ewoks and klingons etc. It would really be the best Collectormania ever!!! Tracy Jane
How come you missed out Prince Harry, Mel Gibson, George Clooney, God? (I know God will be free until advent starts..) Oooh. I'm up for the celestial signings. And seeing as God runs heaven and he has all those other awesome people with him 24 hours a day, people who never leave his side.... we could get Elvis to come with him! Joking aside, I'm pretty sure that Jason and the guys are already looking at people they could get. As for "biggest guests ever", I just had to imdb/google three of your four. The fourth, I have no interest in whatsoever. A big guest for one person is a nobody for others.

A big guest for one person is a nobody for others. You had to google to find out who Pamela Anderson and Megan Fox are? I can imagine you somehow don't know who is Paul Verhoeven ("oh my!!!") and Dan Aykroyd (double "oh my!!!") but do you really don't know who Pamela Anderson and Megan Fox are? Ask people on the street...Like ask anyone... You'll be suprised. It doesn't matter how do I know these people are free & open to come to convent in the UK. If SM ask me I can provide them with info and direct contact to these stars' people (but I think SM know all that info already). I'm just giving a friendly clue to SM... Will they take it or not is a different cup of tea. Edited September 27, 2010 by Tammy-B

Farqhuarbeedlebum
I would have thought that if it was financially feasible to get these guests and if they were actually willing to do a signing event then SM would have approached them. You could say the same about any guest suggestion ever posted on this forum - sometimes I think it's just good for us to show SM that we would support these guests appearing - as i'm sure they are more than aware of who we want to appear! Charmer
I'd love to meet Dan and Megan. I'm sure if there's a chance of them ever attending then SM will get in there. We only get to hear about the people who accept the chance to do signings. I'm pretty sure the good people over at SM will be asking people like this on a regular basis on the off chance they are interested. Hopefully Ernie Hudson will put in a good word to Dan since he's been to a load of cons and enjoys them loads!

I think you can be pretty sure to find support for anyone who has ever appeared in a tv show/movie on the forums somewhere (and you probably wouldn't need to look too hard either) . I would imagine that if someone like Pamela Anderson/Megan Fox was going to be in the UK around the time of a convention the SM crew would more than likely be aware of it and would put an invitation out there. It's Megan Fox I hadn't heard of. She's not really been in much, has she? A few guest spots in minor American TV shows, one or two straight to DVD type films... the only one of those films (or two, I guess) that I've heard of is Transformers and I never saw it. Didn't interest me, especially given the appalling one star reviews from the Guardian. Don't really see what your fuss is about. Who cares that I've not heard of some girl who has only been in one or two major films. Shrug. It's not like she's Julie Andrews, Audrey Hepburn or someone. Tracy Jane
Kids these days, eh David Seriously if someone didnt know who Dan was I'd have this face on ...Then maybe hit them. Yeah, after imdbing and realising, I did do a bit of a "duh! Idiot!" bit. I have seen (most of) Ghostbusters and Blues Brothers. I'm completely not a film buff though. I'm a real fidget bum, find it hard to sit still and so films are, generally, a no-no for me. I've still not seen Star Wars yet. I think, over the years, I've seen the whole of the first film in sections, but not the rest. I got into the SM events because I love sci-fi (though mainly TV stuff) and it was going on local to where I used to live. This weekend, I had no idea who the Dallas ladies were and I had only vaguely heard of Dallas. I knew it was popular before I was born and had heard the JR stuff. I've never seen an episode. I really am living proof of the SM mantra that one person's "amazing guest" is another's "so what?" I jumped and screamed and clapped when Denise Crosby was announced a couple of years back. She was my hero when I was a little girl. But I had absolutely no idea who Carrie Fisher was. I hadn't heard of Robert Englund (My mum nearly killed me, as she had a huge crush on him in V). By contrast, I had to explain to my friends who Bill Shatner is.
svenntroll
Well I think Paul could be possible, his next movieproject will start in 2011 (de stille kracht) and he doesn't live far from the UK. London is just an hour by plane from the Netherlands. And he seems to be a nice bloke!
