  1. Halloween Kills (Halloween 10 or Halloween 3 depending on how you look at it) was the usual Halloween film. It did have some reasonable character development but didn't seem to stand out from the others in the franchise. Fans won't be disappointed though.
  2. Venom: Let There be Carnage was a good fun sequel with some great comedy and action scenes. It did feel inferior to the original though.
  3. No Time To Die was a good addition to the franchise with enough action and Bond moments to please fans. It was much more drawn out than it needed to be but a good finale from Daniel Craig.
  4. Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld, True Blood, The Wrestler, Mildred Pierce & Thirteen) Jack Plotnick (Z Nation, Reno 911, Drawn Together, Buffy, The Mentalist & Joan of Arcadia) Robin Tunney (The Mentalist, Prison Break, The Fix, The Craft & End of Days) Larry Bagby (Hocus Pocus, Young & Restless & Buffy) Lindy Booth (The Librarians, Kick Ass 2, Dawn of the Dead, 4400, Relic Hunter & Cry Wolf) Rachel Bilson (Hart of Dixie, The O.C., Chuck, Jumper, Nashville, Take Two & How I Met Your Mother)
  5. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was very good. It some very funny moments and amazing fight scene effects. Another worthy addition to the Marvel Universe.
  6. Respect (the Aretha Franklin biopic) was very impressive. It certainly gave a fascinating insight into her life with stories I'd never heard. A brilliant performance from Jennifer Hudson. If you are an Aretha fan you'll certainly like this.
  7. Malignant was disappointing. The film started very promisingly and had a creepy start, but about 40 minutes in became simply ridiculous.
  8. Candyman (2021) was a good remake/sequel. I enjoyed the original although I didn't find it very scary. This wasn't particularly scary either but I did think a slight improvement on the original.
  9. The Night House was an average horror film. The movie started promisingly and had a some scary moments with good tension. Yet it somehow lost it's way towards the end.
  10. The Suicide Squad (2) was an excellent sequel. I am a fan of the first movie and thought this was just as good. The effects were brilliant and plenty of blink and you'll miss them appearances.
  11. Old was a good supernatural thriller with an interesting end which certainly plays on your mind. Not M Night Shyamalan's best but still a good film.
  12. Jungle Cruise was a good attempt at an adaptation of a Disneyland ride. It had some good effects and certainly incorporated the rider's humour, but did feel like family adventure film that had been done many times before.
  13. Escape Room: Tournament of Champions was a good sequel. It was not as good as the first but did have a more elaborate set up with a couple of very nice twists.
  14. The Forever Purge was a good installment in The Purge saga. It certainly showed the events following The Purge Election Year well and did show the various different views and consequences well.
  15. Black Widow was a good action Comic film. It wasn't the best Marvel film but a good adaptation with excellent effects and a real feeling of falling.
  16. Sarah Polley (Dawn of the Dead, Go & Slings & Arrows) Madeline Zima (Heroes, Californication, Betas & The Collector) Mischa Barton (The O.C., The Sixth Sense, St Trinian’s & Once and Again) Elizabeth Anne Allen (Buffy & Bull) Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars, The Good Place, Gossip Girl, Heroes, Frozen & House of Lies) Jane Levy (Suburgatory, Evil Dead, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Don’t Breathe, What/If & Castle Rock)
  17. Freaky was a brilliantly entertaining comedy horror version of Freaky Friday. Great performances Vince Vaughn & Kathryn Newton and another good movie from Blumhouse Pictures. If you enjoyed their previous comedy horrors you'll probably enjoy this.
  18. Fast & Furious 9 was good and fun action film. It was at times extremely far fetched but I think that was the point. The action scenes seemed relentless and the humour was also amusing. Fans will not be disappointed.
  19. Dogtanian & The Three Muskehounds was great for nostalgia. I was a big fan of the cartoon series as a kid so it was nice to see a fairy faithful big screen adaptation. It should be enjoyable to kids who aren't familiar with the original series too.
  20. Jason Behr (Roswell, Dawson’s Creek & Breakout Kings) Melissa Benoist (Supergirl, Glee & Whiplash) Macaulay Culkin (Home Alone 1 & 2, Kings, My Girl & Saved) Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day, La La Land, Utopia & Mary + Jane) Larisa Oleynik (Mad Men, Hawaii Five-0, Pretty Little Liars, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Secret World of Alex Mack & 3rd Rock From The Sun) Hinton Battle (Buffy, Dreamgirls & Quantum Leap)
  21. The Father was a very clever and sad film. A fantastic performance from Anthony Hopkins and the movie did seem deliberately confusing to show the struggles of the film's theme.
  22. I thought Cruella was a fun backstory on Cruella Devil with a fantastic performance from Emma Stone. The costumes and make were terrific too. I thought it the best live action film based 101 Dalmatians to date.
  23. I saw Godzilla Vs Kong finally at the cinema today. I thought it was really good. Fantastic visual effects and paid homage to older movies. I am a fan of both the King Kong and Godzilla films and was impressed how both were portrayed.
  24. First cinema trip in 7 months and I thought Spiral (or Saw IX if you prefer). Was a good horror. It was different to the Saw movies in it's tone (although I did miss Tobin Bell's voiceover). The twist was clever too. Saw fans won't be disappointed.
