gobo1979uk
London Film & Comic Con is just a name. Doesnt meant it is just films and comics or we wouldnt have all the TV show peopel there. It covers Film, TV, Cult, Sci-fi and Fantasy. Im thinking the models would come under fantasy. Having a poll doesnt really prove anything. If you did a poll of who is interested in meeting a lot of the minor guests (wont name names) the majority wouldnt be interested. Doesnt mean that the guests shouldnt be there because there are still lots of people who are interested. I can't stand LOST but not complaining about the LOST guests taking up space at the show......each to their own. Actually if people are complaining about the glamour models how bout having an separate adults only guests section of the show. Could have any models you wanted then. And before anyone starts a guest suggestion thread im gonna say Lindsey Dawn Mckenzie. PLEASE showmasters. Also Leilani Dowding is really nice guest but i already met her. She spelt my name wrong on first auto so gave me another one ;-) Edited June 20, 2006 by gobo1979uk

gobo1979uk
Whats wrong with pornstars if they are in an adults only section of the show. Was only thinking about autographs not live sex shows or nude photo sessions ;-) Besides LDM has done some tv (on channel 5 admittedly) and was a page 3 girl before she went for a bit more money and did porno. Could have a rule that it is autos only rather than stallholders to prevent sex shops setting up stalls. Actually I have seen stalls selling old playboys at shows. The ones with celebs before they were famous are collectible. The ones with Bond girls in are the most collected i think. zephyrbrett
What do they have to do with film? I am not interested at all. Are they going to have chippendales for the girls??? But I would still only see the people who are to do with film and tv even if the chippendales were going.

The ones with celebs before they were famous are collectible. The ones with Bond girls in are the most collected i think. 1. you'd be discriminating to prevent sex stalls. 2. as i've stated, it would need to be sealed agains under 18s. thats not easy un a non-custom built venue that i understand is rather open. temporary dividers are NOT suitable for sealing it off, as they can be moved. 3. security - as it is, shows are sometimes understaffed. but its also (relatively) amateur staff - professional security would probably need to be brought in to staff it properly. 4. how does a parent go for an autograph, and leave their kid outside the area? there ARE a good number of families in attendance i believe, and its not easy to explain why daddy has to go into a seperate area for a couple of hours. 5. because there are families in attendance, bringing in don't read, mods please delete stars would signal a change - from a more general show to a specialist one. its hard to keep families attending shows with an outright adult theme, whereas a model is showing whats permitted in a teen mag. hope thats enough reasoning What do they have to do with film? I am not interested at all. Are they going to have chippendales for the girls??? Susannah_Howard
I went to an autograph show a couple of years ago to meet a Star Trek star, and when we got there there were women who had appeared in Playboy. There was a warning over their stalls that they would only sign for adults, not children, okay fine. However, I felt very upset that these people were there at a family event and had been given in a very prominent place (you couldn't miss them right by the entrance door) and so in your face. I feel that these sort of guests should not be at a Family orientated event, I know that to some this may make me a prude but you try explaining to 5 year old what these women are there for and what films/programmes they have been in! Sounds easy enough to me! You just tell them their there to see the guests and friends like every other person there! Seriously what do you people tell your kids when you get someone cosplaying in a PVC catsuit thats rather revealing, or as a japanese schoolgirl with mini skirt and pigtails with a large (fake) knife or something (yes ive seen that before, not at a SM show yet though) among other things.. At another event last month, someone was wearing only a bikini top yet no-one seemed to mind and yes, was plenty of familys there also! It really does sound like all you people are expecting them to be in nothing but lingerie and clearly flaunting their boobs in peoples faces with all the talk of exposing kids to them..would you be more happy if they were covered head to toe in full winter gear with only their eyes exposed?? For all you know, they may just look like any other normal person there!

jacksparrowsmistress
I'm back and I'm still on my high horse. I think there is definitely a place at shows for these ladies, just not at this particular event, they dont fit in. I've been to the sex-orientated show that's been held each year and that would be a much better venue for them, lots of models posing for official pics there, and probably autographs if people asked. I dont care if they're guests of an artist or not, this is a family show, there are always loads of children and they are not appropriate for this particular show. And to be silly for a moment, hey I've got 36G breasts and I've been on the telly (in the background behind stars at premiers at least 3 times that I know of on the news), so I've had about as much tv exposure as some of these ladies, how come I'm not getting paid to be there? I qualify surely? Edited June 21, 2006 by jacksparrowsmistress

Frankly if people are going to start on about the corruption of children and the problems of our society, I'd rather explain to a child why there were a couple of attractive ladies there in swimsuits rather than perhaps a cosplayer in a sinister dark suit and glasses with a chuffing great pistol. Personally I have no problem with either, but if people got so uptight about the young seeing violent images as they do about them seeing sexual ones then we might have a few less schoolkids stabbing each other without realising how easy it is to kill people that way... At another event last month, someone was wearing only a bikini top yet no-one seemed to mind and yes, was plenty of familys there also! Heavens to murgatroyd, are you suggesting they was nekkid below the waist?! Lumme they must have been cold considering how crap the weather was until a couple of weeks ago It really does sound like all you people are expecting them to be in nothing but lingerie and clearly flaunting their boobs in peoples faces If they are, then the crowds of blokes will mean that the kids won't be able to get close enough to see such corrupting filth And to be silly for a moment, hey I've got 36G breasts and I've been on the telly (in the background behind stars at premiers at least 3 times that I know of on the news), so I've had about as much tv exposure as some of these ladies, how come I'm not getting paid to be there? I remember at one event someone from Babylon 5 had done some artisitc shots and she had them hidden under the desk so that kids didn't see them.
