Door Opening Times

Recommended Posts

Do we know what time the doors will be open for gold passes? I can see "Doors open 9.00am" for regular entry-so what time for Gold? Thanks

It's usually 10 mins before normal entry, so 8:50ish
Do they let all the golds in before the regular entry?

They should do, that's the whole point of it.

From my experience they just start letting in the Golds at 8:50 and standard entry at 9:00. They don't wait for all golds to be in, so if you're at the back of the gold line there is a chance that some of the standard entry people get in before you, depending on how long it takes to get the gold pass holders in. They are separate queues and entrances though, it's not like they tread on each other or anything.

That's hard to answer - if you are first in the queue, 1 second, last a bit longer. There are only Gold and Standard entry tickets so Standard's are allowed in at 9am and everyone was in fairly quickly last year.

Last year i was inside at 8.40

Yeah, but you rappelled out of a helicopter onto the roof, crowbarred a door open then crawled through the vents to get in.

Haha no. It was a mistake as i didn't have gold pass only YALC and they let us in by mistake before golds came in. But they promised it won't happen again.

Shhhh, everyone will try that now!

RoryMcGarret is trying something new this year so I've heard. She's coming in by stealth potato.

Yes! I will ask random people to hold my potato!

Some of it was the crew who were on queue control being efficient and making people bunch up to decrease the space between people in the queue meaning those further down would then be moving forward. Also IIRC the crew on ticket duty started early before the doors openend and came down the line asking for anyone with weekend tickets to identify themselves - they then checked the tickets and gave them their wrist bands.

That meant that those weekend people could just show their bands when getting to the head of the queue and saved a lot of time as they didn't then have to stop and hold up the queue at the door.

I was checked when I went in the first time. However at one point I found myself outside (went down in a lift and came out God knows where) and had to walk around back through the main entrance to get back in, and I wasn't checked at all that time. Since I wasn't stamped or anything (I don't know if they were doing that regardless) I was a bit nervous, even though I still had my e-ticket, but I didn't get a second glance. It makes me wonder who else they potentially just let in off the street though...

Yes, hand stamps were still being done. I imagine Crew were not automatically offering them to anyone leaving - that would have meant a pretty big backlog at the Exit. Any time you leave and plan to return please get a handstamp.

If you got out and in again without one that was a lucky exception.

Well I didn't intend to leave. I got a lift down from the top floor which led to a warehouse-type area at the back. I had to walk back through the entrance because that was my only way back in, I didn't get a chance to be stamped regardless because I didn't leave via the main doors.

I am not even sure if you used an official exit there. :whistling:

We had the same "problem" when we took a lift from the top floor. Finally we came along where the YALC entry was and we got a handstamp there. So we could go out and straight back in through the main entrance.

I too got a lift down to some random place. I stood there confused for a moment and got back in the lift.

It seems like many of us were taken in by this mysterious elevating device, taking us to weird places - but was it even a lift????
