OK you know we have a big crew to run the events and lots of people come together to help as a team to make the events work. We are a big family but now we are looking for more people to join us to be apart of this team so we can make the events bigger and better over the next few years and we need more of you to get involved in what we do.

Now there is a list of who the Showmasters are, and these are the people that make it happen for all the shows we run, be it Autographca, 10th Planet Events, Collectormaina or Massive Events. Without the people listed the events would not happen and we are looking for more to help.

Below is a list of jobs and projects that we would like to find more people to help us with. If you think you would like to offer your services then please do e-mail us and let us know what you think you would like a go at and we will consider it.

email sent. Forgot to mention that I have D1 on my driving license and have passed MiDAS (minibus driving test) if you ever need someone to drive a minibus full of crew members!!

What am I saying - you'd have to be insane to drive a minibus full of crew members!!!???

Read that if you haven't already. Gives you a few hints about what to do re: crewing.

Yeah I have read that the thing I am not sure about is do your want stuff like date of birth and stuff? I know it's not a job application but apart from experince what sort of other info do you want.

I always make these things more difficult than they are.

Thanks

I'd like to put my name forward to help out. I've been attending conventions since the the 80's, run quite a few as well as running a sci-fi club that is now in it's 10th year. I've worked in nearly every area of conventioning and am happy to help out wherever I can. I would also like to have a chat with someone as I have a new & purpose made venue that would be brilliant for an event in the North West. Please let me know if I can help asap.

Is there a certain age you need to be to crew a con or sitr by the guests while there signin so crewin mainly

As it says in this thread, you need to be at least 16.

That thread also has all the other info you need if you want to volunteer to crew at an event.

And just a couple of points:

The "conventions" i.e. weekend ones in a hotel use an experienced crew, so new people aren't really taken on there. The "signing events" like Collectormania are the best place to apply for.

There are a variety of roles, and sitting with a guest is highly unlikely when new.
