  1. Everyone was loving Spidey. What an outfit. Some top class cosplay this time around. Did anyone catch the Masquerade? There was a group of three little Doctor Who cosplayers who were so great. One of them was really getting into it. I hope they won a prize.
  2. There was this one strapping chap about on both days. Kept seeing him in the toilets when I was washing my hands actually. Weird that.
  3. Everyone I met today and yesterday was so friendly but I'm going to put Danny John-Jules up there as a standout guest. I lined up with a friend to take a picture for him and found him to be an absolute gem of a guy. Chatty, funny, totally enthusiastic to be there. Even someone like me who wasn't there to get an autograph he offered a handshake which was quite surprising. Then at the Red Dwarf talk he was just so alive with some great stories and a real rapport with everyone. I was surprised to find he was in attendance today as well. I spotted him on his way about the convention hall several times happy to chat and pose for pictures with everyone. He was even content to stop, say hello and have a brief chat and handshake when he came past me later in the day. Spike Spencer was also brilliant. What a friendly, funny guy. I was so gutted we missed his talks, but we got tied up doing other things. Did anyone see him messing around on the bus as it pulled in this morning? Hilarious.
  4. The five pound note is the most sought after item of all at any convention. I've had dealers give me freebies just for paying in coins or five pound notes a few times before. Maybe this woman was more of a five pound coin kinda dame. Wow, nobody should ever use the word "dame".
  5. Usually I'm not nervous before meeting guests, but for some reason I was bricking it before meeting Mr. Bakula. I've been watching and admiring the guy on television for years. Fortunately I had no reason to be worried as he turned out to be an absolute gentleman more than happy to shake hands, briefly chat and personalise the autograph with a lovely message for the person I was collecting it for. Couldn't ask for more out of a guest. More like this please, guys.
  6. The LFCC and Collectormania events I've been too are always really well staffed with such friendly, dedicted people who you can tell are genuinely happy to be a part of things. A pleasure to deal with everyone this weekend. Thank you.
  7. Makes me want to go both days now. Damn it, we'll see how Saturday's spending goes.
  8. The problem is going to be finding a quote to ask him to sign with. There are so many great ones.
  9. Agreed. Another excellent event from Showmasters. Bring on Collectormania 12.
  10. When I asked Zach Galligan if he had a favourite Billy quote he suggested "They're watching Snow White... and they love it!" to my delight, so he signed with that. Top fellow.
  11. I only had a bit of a look around on Saturday and snagged anything that took my fancy. Today I'll go back and have a really good glance for anything I might have missed. Overall Saturday was great though - keeping in mind I didn't go for any guest photographs or meet anyone aside Zach Galligan. Hope anyone who couldn't collect their photos gets them posted alright. Royal Mail have been slacking off recently.
  12. £15 and worth every penny. So much so I'm going to go back tomorrow and pay again for him to sign my 60x40" Gremlins poster. He was genuinely very friendly and even recognised me from a post I'd made about how excited I was to meet him on his blog which really made my day. Thanks to Showmasters for bringing in such a great guest.
  13. Hopefully the new Futurama figures will be out by then for Billy to sign the Fry one.
  14. There's a fair bit of variation this time. Lots of the usual Star Wars stuff at differing prices. Anime has a decent presence as well thanks to TokyoToys and posters/shirts/autographs are as usual abundant. I saw a lot of DVDs on sale from various regions so you may be in luck.
  15. I'd ask Zach Galligan to put a quote from Gremlins if he's up for it and I could decide upon a line I liked enough. I'd much rather get a picture of me with him pulling his "The Mogwai Reproduce" face. But I doubt that'll happen, so a quote I shall ponder upon. Most of the best quotes go to the other characters, mind you. [edit] In the end I just asked Zach to address the autograph to me and for a picture and he was more than happy to do both. What a genuinely nice guy he was.
  16. Is it unwise to assume SOMEONE at Collectormania will have some pens on sale on their stalls?
  17. Just going on the Sunday at present, so my friends and I will probably roll in around 10am and grab ourselves some munch before invading Collectormania 11... at 11.
  18. I'd like to think that although gone, John has not been forgotten and will continue to make us all smile in many ways much like this April Fools gag.I can of course understand why people would be offended, but hell... when I'm gone I'd be cool with people joking about my death for a chuckle. I'm sure John Candy feels the same. This is of course assuming Showmasters aren't planning on digging up his remains and propping then up in some small booth for photos. Perhaps even going so far as to add a latex skin and riddle his corpse with animatronics which make him wave and mouth move to spout common Candy character phrases like "Weights in the sled!" and so forth.
  19. Certainly going to be meeting Zach Galligan, but not sure what I'll ask him to sign. As for the others, not got any planned as of yet but who knows who Showmasters will pull out of their hat.
  20. I absolutely love you guys. Thanks for getting such a great guest from my favourite movie.
  21. I chucked up a little post on my blog about Collectormania 10. I seldom post here so I didn't think it'd be worth making a new thread to advertise it. Check it out if blogs and photos are your kind of thing. Not many guest pics, I kinda go for the dealers.
  22. Looks like you had a great time, with some really nice pics. Look at Boone, the little smoothie.
