danger_skies
Dyson the tegu was one of the highlights of my weekend - I adored cuddling him, and he really didn't seem to mind it. (And no, I wasn't drunk.) I'll get my pictures up soon :)
dragonsanddaffodils
they are a well-respected company, well certified and insured. They rotated the animals all the time to allow them freedom and space thats why people werent allowed to go behind the tables so that they could let the animals roam and not remain confined or held by the attendees for too long. A company like that wouldnt be doing it if it wasnt safe for the animals. They genuinely loved them and told stories about their rescue and upbringing. They live with the animals 24/

JaneDoe
Shame on you! I'm, just not an animal lover (that includes werewolves **ducks** ) it's because I'm allergic to 9/10 of the little critters! But I love looking at all the pictures and reading the comments and seeing how much other people enjoyed them so yeah, I'm feeling the love for the humans! ...although the hedgehog was super cute with his head in the sawdust! surfy_sah
I voted Meerkat, so cute! though didn't see him/her much as it got quite crowded in the room and the zoo owners put him/her away for a rest - doh the bad timing on my part!! I have got some photos of the big lizzards, were they Henry and Dyson? they were running around on the green "grass carpet" at the time and seemed to be well enjoying themselves! got a few pics of the turtles and the hedgehogs too and did touch them but didn't hold them, they were resting when I was in the room, awww! do understand why people are concerned about these things - had my photo taken with a koala in Australia and felt bad for him/her being passed on to the people in the Q but there are strict rules normally about how long the animals can be handled for and that they should be put back and rested if they start showing signs of stress. it was at a koala sanctuary-where they have been rescued and nursed back to health but can't always be released back into the wild-and all the money was going on feeding the koalas and to their keep, which is the same here by the sounds of it as with the cages, if you see some one carrying their cat or dog around in a cage it is probably just to get from A to B and that most people wouldn't keep their pet in a small area like that? sounds like it's the same here - small cages for rest/sleep and transit but I'm sure-from what everyone has said-that the zoo owners don't keep the animals like that normally? anyways, especially with there being so many cons, thought it was cool and different surfy sah xx
dragonsanddaffodils
From what the owners said, they are very free-roaming. They all live at their house All were rescued from domestic living arrangements where people couldnt look after them anymore. I remember her saying that Dysons old owner was particularly upset about having to give him up, but her job changed, and he needs lots of cuddles and to be around people all the time which she couldnt do on shift work. I wish they had brought some of the other animals/birds of prey they chatted about

I love hearing happy stories like that, it's wonderful that unwanted and unloved animals get rehomed, my charity money gets spread around between LACS, CRUK, WWF and RSPCA, so as you can imagine, I adore happy endings! xxx

I wish they had brought some of the other animals/birds of prey they chatted about Dyson was so cuddly! His toungue shot out and tickled my neck, so he was clearly very fond of people. I totally enjoyed talking to the handlers but it got a lil noisey in there though. But yep I got the impression that the animals were pretty much free-roaming. They seemed very happy to answer any questions I had about the animals.

Jenjen23
Got to hold the white chinchilla who was lovely. The bearded dragon was gorgeous too- kinda like sandfire colouration- love them, was actually getting obsessed about seeing it up close quite sad considering I work with these animals every day! lol! The tegus & armadillo were great to see up close and the tortoises kept me amused watching them run around on the grass mat. @queen of hearts, I need to find you next con, fellow animal lovers need to stick together, I also did a Diploma in Animal Management :) My personal opinions regarding containment of the animals will stay personal cos I bugged my friends with my comments over the weekend. Also people for future don't use flashes with animals it can scare them!!!
