God L'Eponge
In Lisa Marie's announcement it is said she's taking part in a photoshoot... but there is no mention of a photo op in this topic... Should i be worried?

Should i be worried? No need to worry. I don't think the list is fully up to date. For example I have already purchased a Nicole de Boer photoshoot which will be on sale soon. yellowmarlin
Newbie question: Are the photo shoots all in the morning? I'm thinking of flying over and back on the Saturday, but don't want to fork out for photos if I have to leave before I can pick them up.

They can mail your photos to you if you can't collect them on the day I think the charge is £2. You just leave a description f yourself with the crew and they'll get them together for you. Moderators etmuse Posted December 6, 2010 Moderators Share Posted December 6, 2010 Newbie question: Are the photo shoots all in the morning? I'm thinking of flying over and back on the Saturday, but don't want to fork out for photos if I have to leave before I can pick them up. It varies - recently most shoots have been over by about 2-3pm. And there IS a delivery service if you do have to leave before your photo comes back from the printers. yellowmarlin
Thanks. I presume they can also be paid for on the day? And are the autographs paid for on the day too?
Moderators DavidB Posted December 6, 2010 Moderators Share Posted December 6, 2010 They can be paid for on the day if they're still available. And autographs are paid for on the day because they can't be guaranteed.
bigcat
I think when it comes to football guests it might create more business or interest for fans if you have reunions of International teams rather than clubs or just concentrate on well known individuals. As an Everton fan (and my local team Walsall) why would i have any interest in a Spurs or West ham reunion. It only appeals to a small group of collectors. At the last olympia event every time i walked past the Chelsea lads they were doing no business. Rival fans generally are not going to buy them. Personally i won't put money in the pockets of Liverpool players unless they are signing an England item
yellowmarlin
They can be paid for on the day if they're still available. And autographs are paid for on the day because they can't be guaranteed. Why's that? Isn't that the whole point?
Queen_Sindel
Autographs can't be guaranteed because the most strange things can happen. Evacuation of the building anyone? Refunding the photoshoots is enough work, but like you said, autographs are the main point, so refunding them would be even more work. A lot more autographs would be pre-sold than photoshoots. Let's start with the standard thing that could happen: a guest cancels. Or a guest signs slow and not everyone gets to see them - Christopher Lloyd at Comic Con, or Michael Biehn last month. Or a guest can simply fall ill, like it happened with Mercedes McNab on Sunday at CM: London.
yellowmarlin
OK, so basically, if I'm there at 9am and prioritise my queuing then, barring unforeseen circumstances, I should get all my autographs (or, at least, the most important ones) and can get my photos sent to me? Moderators etmuse Posted December 7, 2010 Moderators Share Posted December 7, 2010 If you can get there before 9am, do so (with quite a few bigger guests people will probably start queueing at least a couple of hours before) but other than that, yes, pretty much. yellowmarlin
Thanks. I'll probably be there for about 8:30.
Queen_Sindel
Thanks. I'll probably be there for about 8:30. Sounds good. If you have to go early, the earlier you can be there in the morning the better. Just grab Virtual Queue tickets for all guests you need that are on the VQ system first, and then do the other lines. yellowmarlin
Thanks for the advice. It sounds like a totally different experience to a con.
Queen_Sindel
It is different, yes. But it's still a lot of fun. I started off with cons myself, but then found myself drawn more and more to signing events like Entertainment Media Show. I got quite varied interests, and the EMS is covering like 5 to 10 of them at once. Easier (and cheaper) than a convention every two weeks. Moderators DavidB Posted December 7, 2010 Moderators Share Posted December 7, 2010 Definitely different, but equally enjoyable. You do have to be a little more organised though, as schedules aren't tailor made for everyone over the whole weekend. Clashes can happen, and things can sell out. I've done these types of events for years though and, as long as you're organised, you mostly get what you want
yellowmarlin
Well, at the moment, there are 5 guests that I'm keen to meet, and they are easily ranked from 1-5, so as long as I work on that basis I shouldn't end up too disappointed. I'll probably nab someone at ET5 for a last minute pep talk anyway.

The only thing I would say, is that if you find you have two photoshoots at roughly the same time, go and speak to the photo shoot crew before hand and explain, they will organise it for you to be able to do both
yellowmarlin
Thanks Rhi. There's only 3 photos I want at the moment, so it would be pretty unlucky if they clashed. Or sod's law, possibly. I booked my flights this evening. I'll leave it until after Christmas to book the photo shoots, in case another couple of guests get added.
