autograph_fanatic
Very good. Do we know yet or can we have some clues as to who the "A lister" could be?
Showmasters Admin showmasters Posted August 13, 2008 Author Showmasters Admin Share Posted August 13, 2008 no there is no point in doing this as it only upsets people when they cannot attend so we never say a thing till we have them in a contract its fair this way i hope you can see why we do this but if we get some of the names we are talking to then its going to be a amazing event so we will see thanks Jason

descartes
Jason, Statements like 'A list guests' can lead to a lot of wild speculation. Already, people will be wondering if the A list guest will be show biz, astronaut, sports, politician, WWII, military etc. I can appreciate that you have to keep it under wraps until the contract is signed and sealed. Can I ask, however, that you bear the following point in mind. When a guest is announced, some of us have to research their biographical and career details. Then we have to find, compose, prepare, print suitable photographic materials appropriate to the signing. Therefore, if you could keep these points in mind it would be most appreciated, so that we can capitalise to a maximum on the opportunity of meeting the presented guest. Lizzy
Its 2 months away! IF they mentioned someone now, who in the end didn't sign the contract, wouldn't that be worse for everyone involved? They will announce them as soon as they are ready. NEVER EVER before. And Howie, why why why the pukey face every post? That surely means u feel sick about something? Unless you feel sick all the time??
defluocor
If there's a mini bond theme I call for Honor Blackman, Guy Hamilton, and Britt Ekland.
nicky
After John Landis was at LF+CC was hoping for An American Werewolf In London reunion........ I hear that's still in the works for a future CM or LFCC which is probably more appropriate than Autigraphica.
keithporter23
"...and selection of pilots and people of military and political history" Any chance of some politicans from the past - possibly the great Tony Benn.
mcgill
I like the idea of a Carry On theme, as a Carry On fan, but not if it's the usual crowd - Valerie Leon, Shirley Eaton, Madeline Smith... The majority of Carry On fans I know have met them, and are looking to meet the more obscure cast members - or bit-part actors who have gone onto bigger/other things. descartes
"...and selection of pilots and people of military and political history" Any chance of some politicans from the past - possibly the great Tony Benn. In the past I have always argued against politicians at an event like this. Now I see your mention of Tony Benn I would endorse that suggestion one hundred percent. I think I am motivated to do this because I regard this gentleman as a great statesman, who surely has political affiliations, but who has given so much to this country in a more generalised sense. Great suggestion.
barni
carry on stars with a bit of clout... Leslie Philips Barbara Windsor Jack Douglas Bernard Cribbons Patrick Mower (now in Emmerdale) Jim Dale Then there's always the ones who were in Carry On Columbus. Is there any truth in the story that a new carry on film is being made? I'm pretty sure I heard that Shane Ritchie and Russell Brand are 2 contenders to be in it but I'm not sure if it was just speculation or not. Count Fooku
Carry on London has been talked about for a long time now. I think it was supposed to revolve around a celebrity chauffer firm in the west end or something. The whole project seems to fall away then rear its head from time to time. I think I heard mention of Shaun "Barry from Eastenders" Williamson being scheduled to play a driver called Dickie Ticker. Personally after Columbus I think the whole thing is best left alone now. RP01
carry on stars with a bit of clout... Leslie Philips Barbara Windsor Jack Douglas Bernard Cribbons Patrick Mower (now in Emmerdale) Jim Dale I totally agree with that list. Others that I think would make for a popular response (with cross-over appeal) would be Lance Percival, June Whitfield and Elke Sommer. Now that's what I would call a Carry On Reunion. This might sound highly contentious, but having heard how some surviving cast members e.g. Margaret Nolan, Liz Fraser etc feel towards Carry On producer Peter Rogers, it may encourage participation if he were not present. duckman
Yes indeed! I’m new to this event and I love the idea of a Carry On reunion! Being only my second event I would love to see Valerie Leon, Shirley Eaton, Madeline Smith ‘return’ as I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting them. However I would be very happy indeed to find Jim Dale on the guest list! Along with Fenella Fielding, Tom Clegg and Amanda Barrie! I would like to see Bernard Cribbins on the list too, just to see if he would turn up!
Chris W
If you are having a Bond reunion is there any chance of getting some Casino Royale guests to attend? Despite his appearing at both London and Milton Keynes I still managed to miss Mads Mikelson. Sebastian Foucon (the free runner) shouldn't be too hard to get (although I don't know how his english is). There are also a few other fairly major characters (Mr White, Mathius, to name two) who are not played by particularly well known actors and are due to appear in Quantum of Solace also. autograph_fanatic
I'm also well up for the Bond reunion. I'm just hoping that Autographica pull a "big and shocking first time/rare guest" as they did with Ursula Andress!

mr_oo7
A Bond reunion would be great - especially since this year (2008) is the centenary of Ian Fleming's birth... I'd love to see Dame Judi Dench or even Sir Roger Moore himself (proceeds to UNICEF maybe?) .

Sir Roger Moore is around the UK alot this October promoting his new autobiography - I think Autographica would be an ideal place for a book signing, and i've posted a while ago that he should do it on behalf of UNICEF.
