  1. I'd like to see Peter Lyon (production swordsmith) and other WETA staff. Incredibly talented individuals!
  2. Like others say, I'd love to meet any Dad's Army guests, please try for them!
  3. Thanks reddragon, Kevin Whately would cover both fan bases obviously.
  4. What about a Morse/Lewis reunion? I just walked by Laurence Fox this morning filming series 5 and it came to mind. So how about Kevin Whately, Colin Dexter, Laurence Fox and Claire Holman. I'm sure I'm nto the only one interested!
  5. Here here! What happened with those celebrations in 1946 is a permanent stain on this nation's history. I welcome the call for Polish as well as British airmen and women.
  6. Hear hear! And not everyone lives in or near the Norfolk area (or has fan society knowledge) where I understand many of the events take place. Secondly, some younger fans like me (26), have come to like Dad's Army late in its day and long after many of the cast have passed on/gotten to old to attend/attend less and less events. So I heartily back a Dad's Army reunion!
  7. I third the request for Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet guests!!!
  8. Thanks guys, brilliant guest and was sorry to miss him at a past event. Now what to get signed......
  9. I know he has done two other Showmasters events but I think Patrick Stewart would be fantastic for Autographica, especially given the more intimate style and the calibre of guests. So that's my number one vote for the next event, I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd be happy. My list would be: Patrick Stewart Brian Blessed Any WW2 military guests Gerry Anderson Honor Blackman Michael Palin Alan Lee John Howe
  10. Again on a tight budget hence just went for Leslie really. Had a great photo shoot with him where he seemed to make everyone laugh, what a great guy. Browsing the stalls my wife and I found an original Airplane movie poster for a bargain price and so got him to sign that. Initially we asked for a quote from Airplane on the poster but due to him being a bit deaf he was asking if we were married, we said yes and that it was our anniversary etc so he wrote "Good luck, Happy Anniversary, Leslie Nielsen". He was very sweet about it and apologised for being a bit deaf. A memory to treasure!
  11. To the organizers...do we have a day for the Nielsen photoshoot yet? I was going to buy a day ticket but didn't want to get the wrong one for obvious reasons. Thanks.
  12. I will take up the rallying cry for more WW2 guests! How about Billy Gray, Tich Rayner, Stan Watson and Alf Whitbread - heroes who took part in the capture of Pegasus bridge on D-Day. If the organisers are interested they can get in touch with them through Danny Greeno at Project 65 or you can try the Aces High gallery that often does veteran signings. I won't provide links so not to look as though I am advertising them. I can't be the only ones who would love to meet them!
  13. Fantastic guest, can't wait. Brilliant in A Bridge Too Far.
  14. Having just met the Pegasus Bridge heroes at a gallery signing - Tich Rayner, Billy Gray and Alf Whitbread - I would heartily recommend them for the next Autographica. It was an honour to meet them.
  15. In response to the organizers request for WW2 vets, I suggest the Canada-based Dambuster vets Fred Sutherland and Grant McDonald. They were over here recently for a signing at a military art gallery so are possibles!
  16. Due to wedding organisation I couldn't make the last event. I write this now from my honeymoon cottage in St Davids - don't tell the wife! I would like to see more WW2 guests, particularly Pegasus bridge and Dambuster vets. In addition to the legend George Johnson, here are some crew still alive and signing at another event very soon: Sergeant FRED SUTHERLAND RCAF - posted to 617 Sqn in March 1943 he was the front gunner in Les Knight’s Lancaster AJ-N which first went to the Mohne Dam before successfully beaching the Eder Dam. Shot down four months later, he managed to evade capture and escape back to England through Holland, France and Spain with the help of Resistance movements. Flight Sergeant GRANT McDONALD RCAF - the Canadian rear gunner on Lancaster AJ-F flown by Ken Brown in the third wave of the raid. Flying at low level on route across Holland and Germany, Grant and the other gunners managed to shoot up and damage three trains before reaching, and attacking, the Sorpe Dam. Sergeant RAY GRAYSTON - having previously served with 50 Sqn, he was posted to 617 Sqn in March 1943 and became the Flight Engineer on Lancaster AJ-N piloted by Les Knight which successfully breached the Eder Dam. When his aircraft was shot down later that year, Ray was taken PoW and sent to Stalag Luft III where he remained until the end of the war. Corporal KEN LUCAS - joining the RAF in 1940 he trained as ground crew on Bomber Command and was sent to 49 Sqn before transferring to 617 Sqn upon its formation. Ken was heavily involved in carrying out the modifications to the aircraft prior to the raid, including fitting the motors that drove the belt to spin the bomb, and attaching the crucial lamps to the underside of the aircraft.
  17. For the next event may I request the attendance of these heroes from Stalag Luft III: Andrew Wiseman, 87, Alfie Fripp, 94, Frank Stone, 86 and Regie Cleaver, 87 http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/eu...ag-1653313.html
  18. How about Colonel David Wood MBE if he is still alive? I read that he is the last surviving platoon commander of the coup de main operation on Pegasus Bridge. He would fit nicely with the WW2 theme and add to my collection of Pegasus veterans!
  19. I had no idea he was in the Dam Busters - cue guest announcement for Richard Todd and Dambuster vets! Apparently the director is still alive!
  20. Hi Jason, I share your sentiment and will begin spreading the word. Any Dambusters, Spitfire, Lancaster and Pegasus Bridge vets get my vote so I am very pleased at the announcements. I've even changed the date of my stag do so I can make the event. All the best!
  21. Now wouldn't Leslie Nielsen be a fine addition now. Well done guys! Shame this event coincides with my stag do, I will endeavour to make the Sunday. Keep them coming!
  22. Should have said Bond guests my apologies! There were a ridiculous number of them and what, two military guests! Off topic but there hasn't been an announcement for ages, come on guys!
  23. Oh god they're comign out of the woodwork. No! The last event was dominated by space guests, fair's fair so how about leveling it up with more military guests? Or Perry and Croft and other Dad's Army guests...
