hi guys

i went to eclipse this weekend, and on the saturday night, some of the guests came down to the party. i missed the start, and when i showed up, noah (micah) and jessalyn (meredith) were the only ones left

After a while, Noah's mum actually had to escort him out of the room because the fans wouldnt leave him alone

Anyway, I was talking to a friend of mine who went to some buffy/angel thing, and apparently the event organizers said that if the guests came to the parties, the fans were banned from asking them for free pics and autographs. because of this, the guests stayed at the party all night

Everyone probably wants a free pic, but IMO i think we should have a similar rule. If we ban the mobbing of guests at the parties, they may stay for longer. It'll be worth it when we see Henry doing the YMCA

anyone else agree?

To be honest I'm pretty sure that we were told repeatedly AND it was on the website or in the con handbook or something telling you to leave them the hell alone. I don't know what else the organisers can to except take a big stick and hit people with it.

I didn't really mean SM should do something. I just mean the attendees should have some respect and give them some space.

I don't like stuff like that either, but theres no use calling everyone morons... Cristine was asking if anyone wanted pics with her, so a few people, inc me did, but she stayed for 5 mins and left for a diff reason. She said it, I had my cam in my hand and took her up on it. Naff pic mind, as it was so dark!

I saw the other guests around, Jessalyn, David and Noah, but I stayed out of their way as they looked like they just wanted to party and couldn't... as I've done previously with people.

I agree with this. Even though they're celebs/actors, they're still people - who wants to be mobbed by fans at a party? If they're giving us their time, let them get their drink on and relax at the party. They'll most likely stay longer (I hope).

First, I never called everyone morons, but I do stand by that to those NOT following requests by the party organizers or event or whatever happening ppl attends, there is a HUGE difference if the VIP ask if anyone wants a picture! They ask if you want one, it'd be rude to say "no" wouldn't it? :P. So no I won't call you a moron for that, you just got the offer and you took it. Shame it was dark then...but you respected the other guests too :). So you did absolutely nothing wrong.

I mean those who refuses to follow instructios in general, those who just CANNOT stop themselvs from harassing ppl for whatever. Those I call morons and I stand by that namecalling.

People were told, and it was on the rules in both the con booklet and on the back of the tickets.

*sighs* A few ruin it for the rest really. And shoot themselves in the foot at the same time.

If you want my opinion about photoshoots on saturday night party, i think ... yes it was forbidden.

I was not beside the actors but i think i saw guest liaison and bodyguards just behind the actors.

If they wanted that it deosn't happen, they just would have to react, but they did not...

So I think actors had no problem with that and the guests who stayed a long time seemed to be happy to have contact with their fans and seemed to be very relaxed with that.

If the guests have been badly treated, i think organizers would have reacted immediately.

There has been the same thing during the Gold pass drink on friday night... but i don't know what were the rules exactly.

Perhaps it could be a good idea to post the rules on the forum so that everybody will know the free photoshoot rules before the next event. If people think it's autorized, and if everybody is requesting, it would be perhaps embarassing...

The rules are the rules but... organizers have had a good idea not to be to strict with that.

im not saying they were upset about being asked for pictures. i'm just saying they may have been a bit more reluctant to stay if they thought they would be begged for pics until 2am

I did not say that you told it :borg:

And my opinion about that is very contrasted. ^_^

I don't think they were upset, but it's true that it could be a reason (for some of them) not to stay a very long time at the party. So i think it's good that it is forbidden

I have readen on the con book it was totally forbiden requesting photo and autograph.

Could someone of Showmasters staff tell me what are the rules about photo during the Gold Pass drink on Friday because i found anything in the con book and i heard something who surprised me ?

Someone told me she asked if it was possible and people told her it was autorized... Could you confirm me ?

If it was really accepted, it wouldn't have been a good idea according to me. Actors could not take photo with all the gold passes and they are losing time the could used to speak with every gold passes...

There should be someone in the room, making sure people are told when they come in the room, that they can not take photos of the guests, that will at least stop some people..

Thing is, people keep saying this stuff what writen in the con book, but it should have been on the website for Eclips before hand, as I know quite a few people who really don't want to be reading con books all weekend, plus I'm a really slow reader and it would probably take me all weekend to read the con book, things like this should be mentioned at the opening ceremony and then reinforced at the cocktail part itself, with maybe just 1 or 2 people going round making sure people are sticking to the rules or at least as many as possible are...

I don't think they need to or can do more then what I mentioned above...
