  1. Hey there - sorry to hear you lost the Badger badge But seeing as you were so lovely and nice and donated to charity via the LEGO game (it was 248 by the way) we'll send you another one if we have it. Or at least, a snazzy replacement. Ping an email to fireflystore@hotmail.com and say hello with your address and we'll get one out. Just promise to be nice to us in the future, especially when our shop is live! Thanks again, Steve fireflystore.net
  2. And some of your worst! Hope people start buying tickets for this shindig and I also echo nkb's sentiments... surely online advertising is worth a punt? It is in my experience. Steve PS: Mind you having said all that, we've not got our tickets yet....
  3. Great, that's awesome news. As the guy standing at the back of that New Year's Eve photo looking on in awe.... I can confirm to everyone that it's addictive and entertaining stuff for sure! Mind you, anyone who can't beat my fastest lap of about 6 seconds (most people were getting 3-4 seconds!) is most certainly a SMEG Head! Thanks again Jason - we're really looking forward to this event now, especially with the efforts and attention to detail that goes into everything. Steve
  4. 2 more attendees for the list.... Me: Steve. 32, Account Director at Ad Agency and crazy mad Red Dwarf fan My sis: Lisa. 29, Doctor and crazy mad Chris Barrie fan Still hoping my other half (Naomi) will come along too, but there are a couple more GOLD tickets whatever happens. Thanks again Jason, Mark and the team for putting this together.... rest assured I'll do all I can to spread the word for you. Steve
  5. Abso-bleedin-lutely. Odyssey 5 rocked bigtime... a totally under-appreciated show in my opinion. Steve
  6. My 3 are: Ben Browder - cool and interesting Lexa Doig - aesthetically pleasing and talented Gary Jones - comedic genius. Steve
  7. Heya everyone. Replacement Guest: Possible Consideration? Hope y'all are getting more excited now about the convention and settled down to get ready for F-U-N. Of course I'm still massively disappointed about the cancellation and the problems with the strike and getting stars from the show to attend (as many of us are) but I still really appreciate all that Showmasters are undoubtedly doing behind the scenes to make the event as successful as possible, including (one hopes) trying to get replacement guest(s). I just wanted to officially say 2 words that in my opinion would make the event even better: ALAN DALE. Think of the guest talks and the things he could chat about - never mind his increasingly important role on LOST as a major plot character through his Widmore Corporation. He is an icon from loads of shows (Jim Robinson anyone? Ugly Betty, Torchwood, guest roles aplenty and lots more) and is in the UK as far as I know. Even if he came for the daytime, that'd be great. Just a thought (or dream) I guess, but I wanted to put it out there in case for some reason the 'powers that be' hadn't explored that route. Either way - good luck with sorting whatever needs sorting in this last week Jason, Mark and team.... and I'll see you in Northampton whatever happens guys for what is hopefully a weekend to remember for all the right reasons. There you go - I stayed positive all the way through this post, damn I must be getting excited now! Steve
  8. Why, you cannot really reproach to people how they feel according to what they spent in money. All the good sides you told about the Gold Pass are not a free gift, people pay for it. And I understand what Sebastian is trying to convey: imagine you book for a first class seat on a plane, with champagne, large seats and so on and so forth. Other people booked for the second class, half less expensive but that finally the compagny offers the same avantage to the second class than for the first class, the first class passengers would feel busted. Everyone is going to the same place but people pay for these bonuses. I personally chose to try to be positive because I want to enjoy the event, but I totally see where Seb is coming from (and he has experience in these kind of events). The efforts SM is doing are nice but it may be not proportional to what the Gold Passes paid for. Anyway, King Steve's last post perfectly expressed how I feel. i couldn't more agree here I have to agree as well Extra agreement is also here from 2 other GOLD pass holders. And I also agree with all of this post too - nicely put and credit where credit is due too.
  9. The way things have sadly gone these last few weeks for Lockdown, I can't see 'mobbing' or indeed 'guests' being a problem! :(
  10. Don't worry... I can certainly see where you guys are coming from 100%. In fact I sincerely applaud your attitude and recognition of the fans being central to things and helping to support Lockdown however it pans out in the next few days... this is what made Eclipse so successful in my opinion too. Thank you for the quick reply and here's hoping we all push Lockdown towards being the awesome celebration and successful event it deserves to be, as well as shaped up to be when originally announced. I mean, LOST is totally rocking in the 4th year - we surely need a convention that matches it's quality goddammit! Steve
  11. Hmmmmm.......... After the phenomenal success, customer service, interaction, professionalism, fun, awesomeness and experience of Eclipse last weekend (which as an event veteran I can say was the best convention I've been to in many a long year), erm, basically next weekend's Lockdown is looking a stark contrast in all honesty and could completely undo all that effort and hard work we know the organisers have been putting into both events so far. Mind you, I'll wait and see what actually happens in a weeks' time of course but as I say, based on the amazingly well-run event last week, I'd really love to see some kind of treats pulled out of the hat not just for us GOLD ticketers, but all attendees. I agree that sh!t happens, but I honestly believe that if we were recognised by Showmasters as being fundamental in supporting LOST and helping to push future successful shows like Lockdown2, etc, that would help us dull the pain. And the massive expense of GOLD tickets, travel, days off work and so on. I'm not really talking about monetary refunds as I can see that is unrealistic and also not part of the arrangement, but other things such as offering us better rates on the next event as a thank you for supporting, some nice goodies, preferential seating in future, extra items next time etc, etc, would certainly help in my humble opinion. Either way, me and the other half have got GOLD tickets for this event, sorted out time off work and booked hotels and so are still going of course, but damn... it's going to take A LOT to get this anywhere near the dizzy heights of the wonderful success of the inaugural Massive Events convention last week. A heck of a lot. Steve
  12. You're right, I would pay for those signatures, so the Lockdown ticket pays for itself. HOWEVER, I wouldn't pay for a Gold Ticket to see those people at a weekend convention (Henry aside), nor would I want my photo taken with most of them. The guest talks are a big part of an event like this and whilst between them they have some excellent experience, only one of them really has much experience of working on Lost. Amen to that, brother. I hope Showmasters takes this kind of constructive comment on board, they usually do to their credit.
  13. Well done for the excellent, refreshingly honest and down to earth post my friend. Nice to read something that cuts through all the irrational 'blowing-smoke-up-bottom' witterings we've sadly seen a lot of lately.... and also echoes pretty much what A LOT of people I know are saying who bought Gold tickets and early tickets for this event that will nevertheless be a good weekend for us Losties. My own personal thoughts and those of other peeps I know are posted elsewhere.... Steve [EDIT] Okay, I've reposted my feelings on this below, just to make things neater and tidier around these parts.. it was playing merry hell with my OCD and no mistake!
  14. Dont worry nikstar1989 - your views are shared by EVERYONE I know who has already bought a ticket or considered buying a ticket. Just because there are not loads of comments online moaning or complaining doesn't mean everyone is pleased and satisfied with what has been going on for whatever reaons - and so to give you some support, I have to say something. Personally I'm a stupidly eternal optimist and happy-go-lucky kinda bloke with everything in life and so I do agree with the positive and upbeat approach from all those sycophantic people that are saying any Lost guest is a great guest, they're all lovely people, let's respect the actors, yay whoopie at anything announced, you can have a great time at events whoever is there, yada, yada..... But. Just having 1 main cast member at a show-specific event (never mind one as highly anticipated and promoted as Lockdown) is totally unheard of in the many, many years that my friends and I have attended and followed conventions. This is why the mood is sour at the moment - even amongst die hard and hardcore Lost fans - which is worrying, disappointing, frustrating and annoying because almost everyone wants the event to be a runaway success. To have an outside chance of this happening and salvage some reputations for the future, in my opinion the event needs another 'higher profile' guest. I mean no disrespect to those guests already announced of course. But hey - the internet is full of opinions. And I've already bought my GOLD ticket for Lockdown. I just hope it's going to be worth it and that the event doesn't end up negating any positive vibes and reputation kudos for Massive Events gained from the Eclipse show.
  15. Ooooh, go on then........ Heya guys. Long time member of this forum, but I hardly ever post - just call me Mr L. Urk Lurker McLurk. Anyhow, spent tonight sifting through photos and sorting out PC storage (hey I know how to party!) so figured may as well upload some pics I'd looked at earlier and join in the fun. So here goes: "Miami Vice" Slippy: "Prematurely grey and aged" Slippy: "Taken last week and trying to be cool" Slippy: Erm, yeah. I do have to say that you all look abso-bleedin-lutely gorgeous and I'm sure I speak for all my buddies attending Eclipse when I say that we look forward to saying hello to each and every one of you.... I'm determined on having muchos laughos, meeting some great guests and tasting a few drinks over a cracking weekend. Please just make sure you come over and say "hiya" if you recognise me staggering around - I'll be the one busting some moves on the dancefloor, whatever the music! See y'all in a few weeks. *goes back to lurking* Steve
  16. Hiya mate. Okay then, here we go with my rough list, with all apart from a couple of autos having been got in person. Yep, I've been busy! Buffy Skateboard Deck (don't ask!) Joss Whedon Eliza Dushku Nick Brendon Amber Benson Julie Benz Juliette Landau Emma Caulfield Charisma Carpenter James Masters Anthony Head Christian Kane Stephanie Romanov Clare Kramer Alyson Hanigan Mark Metcalf Alexis Denisof Tom Lenk Danny Strong Generic Buffy Poster Scarily, I've just counted and we've got around 50 autos on that one as I've had it for several years Luckily met the principal cast when they WERE NICE and signing/promoting back around '98/'99 So I'm lucky to have most of the cast and supporting characters on there, plus: Joss Whedon SMG Wrap party Season 5/End Angel Poster Signed by 22 people from that season (no Boreanaz or Joss on that one yet) Generic Angel Poster Signed by around 40 people from show My pride and joy as I've been collecting on that one since Crimbo '99 and the best autos on that are: Joss Whedon Marti Noxon Glenn Quinn (we're not gonna get that again unfortunately) David Boreanaz SMG Firefly Serenity Cast poster - fully signed by all 9 including Gina and Joss Film poster - signed by Joss, Chris B, all 9 cast and 5 supporting characters Original show/logo press ad - signed by everyone apart from Gina and Joss (but has 6 additional autos) 10x8 cast/promo shots - 4 of these signed by cast and crew apart from that Gina again! Comics - 2 of each signed apart from Gina 10x8 autos Not even gonna count these (I'll get depressed at how much we've spent!) Inkworks auto cards Buffy - Joss Whedon and Alyson Hanigan Angel - All auto cards from 5 seasons Firefly - All auto cards from Serenity and Firefly Man, I gotta get some insurance!! One question I've got - where does everyone keep their signed Whedonverse stuff? Steve
  17. Don't worry, it happens to us all.... Okay, here's a very sad admission. I've met most of the big stars at signing events and conventions over the last 6-7 years, worked with cast members of shows and met them outside of the convention circuit and have NEVER been star-struck or struggled with what to say. I reckon just treat them as you would a mate and everything is cool - I've had some great experiences, shared some cool secrets, got some nice posed pics and built up a rapport with many guests outside of the events. However, I totally fell apart when I met Jenny Agutter at CM9 though... and I still don't quite know why!* It was plenty of gulps, umms, errrs and I was wearing a Chester City FC rugby shirt at the time, so Jenny said that she lived in Chester for a while (which I knew) and asked me about it. All I could do was nod my head, forget what my name was and shuffle my feet!!! So yeah, all I wanted to say really was please don't worry if you DO get embarrassed with one of the guests, amazingly it happens to us all and sometimes we don't even know why - especially if they're not imposing, huge stars with massive stage presence! Oh well. Either way, my top tip is to not worry and ENJOY IT. Steve *I blame THAT outfit in Logan's Run. Or the fact she was a great actress in Spooks, honest!
  18. I feel so compelled to add my vote to this request thread, that I'm coming out of months of lurking retirement to post this: WE WANT CLANCY BROWN!!!! He would be an awesome guest for the reasons that we've all been discussing here. But one mega point for me, is that he was/is superb as LEX LUTHOR in JUSTICE LEAGUE, surely one of the best scripted and (voice)acted series around, animation or otherwise. Along with some other great stars, he makes the show what it is - legendary. So I'll keep hoping he comes to an event one day. Steve
  19. Piccie Competition - FIREFLY GUESTS Hiya. I just wanted to say that if you (or anyone else) has any decent pics of Nathan or Alan wearing any of our customised shirts like the blue Serenity one Alan had on Sunday - please feel free to email us any pictures and not only will you be entered into the new competition, but might also see your handywork in a magazine near you complete with full credits! The website address (with details and email malarkey) is: www.fireflystore.spreadshirt.net Love ALL the pics so far though, for all guests. Stay Shiny! Steve UK BROWNCOATS PS: An intermediate review and update of the UK Browncoats Fan Area is on the site... thanks again to all those who supported the charity and helped in some way - especially Showmasters themselves.
  20. Whoops, sorry. My bad. That's what you get when you ain't posted on the boards for a while! Thanks for the re-direction fellas. Steve
  21. Hiya. The (occasionally) Beautiful Game Just wondered if ShowMasters or anyone else can confirm whether there was going to be a screen or TV in the hall for the England v Portugal World Cup 1/4 final match on Saturday? It starts at 4pm and, seeing as I seriously can't imagine that ALL geeks/film/comic lovers hate football.... there might be a mass exodus around 3:30pm to the nearby pubs otherwise! (at least it'll be a good time to get autos - lol) Any information would be great - A nice England win at football and some great Film/Comic guests = awesome. Steve
  22. Same as us.... it's about 3 miles out on a straight road from Central MK shopping area (so 10 mins by car/bus/taxi). Swank hotel for the cash too. Steve
  23. hey... the girl's got a great point there.
