Hello there,

Whenever I join a new forum I like to get to know about all of the people who use the forum, so thought i'd start a new thread where everyone can talk about themselves. And try to add more than what Tv and movies you like Ok, me first.

 

I'm ash, 18 and live in Glasgow I'm studying acting at college and have a really rubbish part time job. My main hobbies are dancing Ceroc, I like to go out to the theatre, cinema...and of course pubs and nightclubs. The internet and tv also keep me entertained I like to go shopping, and hanging out with my friends.

Hiya Ash!!

 

My name is Anna but everyone calls me Annie. I'm 20 and in my final year at Sheffield Hallam University studying Media with a Public Relations Minor. At the moment I'm working seasonally at ASDA's in my local town, Rochdale, and my deparments are checkouts (Boooo!!) and Greeting (YAY!!). I'm hoping to be asked to be on the Event's management team there this summer.

 

Hobbies include Performing Arts (singing, dancing and acting) and I've been in many musicals two of which I've had the lead role for. I also love to listen to all kinds of music, watch a load of different films and read sci-fi/fantasy books my favourite of which are the Harry Potter books.

 

My fandom lies in Harry Potter. I love it and have done for about 6 years now!! I also love 24 (season 3 is my fav), Dr Who, Loads of Musicals, Friends and Green Wing. I've just started watching Prison Break and think it's brill!

 

I've been to CM 7 and CM GMEX and I'm going to CM 9 next weekend! YAY!!

 

The most exciting thing happening to me at the moment is that I'm going for an audition for a BBC programme on the 6th of May where they're trying to find someone to play Maria in the West End production of 'The Sound Of Music', I can't wait!!

Hello Ash!

 

My name is Keith, I'm 25 & live in London with my parents & 2 out of 3 older brothers. I work for a courier company & I used to write loads of stuff (poetry, short fiction, artcicles, etc) and have had some published, but haven't done anything recently. I'm waiting for that inspiration to come so I can start writing again.

 

In case you were wondering, I write short horror fiction in the vein of H. P. Lovecraft (lots of indescribable things, mouldy old books and people going mad, lol!), who happens to be my favourite author. I've had an article published on him in the small presses ages ago (yay!). Apart from that, I love Clive Barker/Edgar Allen Poe/Arthur Machen/Algernon Blackwood/M. R. James, etc.

Films, I love horror movies most of all, but also anything with Tim Burton or Johnny Depp involved, LOTR, Hellboy, Sin City, Lost Boys, Breakfast Club, any 80's classics, etc.

Music, I love Counting Crows, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, more recently, All American Rejects and Fall Out Boy, but generally anything!

 

I've been going to these events since Collectormania 3, but only joined the forum in Feb this year (I'm a bit behind the times, you see. I prefer quill and parchment as apposed to this keyboard!). It was my love of The Lord of the Rings which brought me here to start with, and the freindliness and kindness of Andy Serkis, John Rhys-Davies and Billy Boyd which made me want to keep coming back.

I'm now a full-time convention junkie & proud of it!

 

All the people I've met at these events have been great fun and I'm hoping to meet even more from the boards @ CM9, so welcome, Ash. You are one of us !

great idea as I've been here over 2years and still don't know that many people everything's in my profile or my sig but I know people don't bother to read them or have signetures turned off if you wanna know more-add me to your msn (see profile)!

 

I'm Sah from Swansea, Wales, studying in Cardiff doing a paediatric nursing degree. I'm 21 and in my final year (eeeek!) qualifying next March when I will be unleashed upon anyone aged under 26 (though mainly under 16) poor kids

 

been doing SM events since C4 and haven't missed any Collectormanias or London Film and Comic Con yet! and hope not to!!! bit of a trek from Swansea but meeting up with everyone is always great fun, can't wait!

 

really into sitcoms since I discovered we have the Paramount Comedy Channel at home! Scrubs love forensic shows, my fave being CSI! especially liking Bones too at the mo! also into sci-fi and cult shows like Stargate SG1 & Atlantis and 24 - KIEFER! Lost is pretty cool too, though still waiting to see end of s1!!

I'm Lee (aka theoden_of_rohan on the forum). I'm 23 years old and work at Exeter College supporting challenging students (young offenders etc.)

 

I love travelling and have done quite a bit of it (including 8 months solo travel in Asia!). I also crave knowledge and love signing myself up for classes of all kinds (languages will be my next thing...), plus I graduated with a degree in Psychology last year!

 

I'm also addicted to this computer (and you will see the proof when you look at my ridiculous post count on the forum) *sigh*

 

Anyway, that's the boring stuff! The real stuff is...

 

I LOVE partying with mates and I live for my weekends away to see you all (whether it be at cons or general meets). I do like my drink (as most of you know) and will class you as an instant friend if you join me in drinking games

 

(Oh EL, that reminds me...next weekend we HAVE to do lots of them)

 

I also love shouting randomly at celebs LOL!!

 

Haha, maybe I should explain! Like most of us I collect autographs and one of my favourite ways of doing this is to attend premieres and award shows. The BAFTAs is my favourite and I have a bit of a reputation for extreme volume when a favourite of mine turns up! LEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! JUUUUUUUUUULIETTTTTTTE etc.

 

I'm also a smoker (the persecuted minority) and swear far too f*cking much! I don't apologise for it though as I'm an ars*hole

Well actually that's probably enough! I don't expect people to read a whole essay on my life lol! Plus, the spag bol is ready and my tummy is a-rumblin'

My name's Rach, Quinny or Smaug. Most people here know me by the latter though. Go figure.

 

I'm 20, I work in I.T full time and have done since leaving school at 18. I'm a Senior Professional Services Technician and I work nights (currently working one now....>.<)

 

I have never been to university and count my blessings to that extent. I just like reminding all my friends that are studying I earn the same if not more per year than they're going to be in debt when they leave uni.

 

I travel a lot, next stop is a trip around Europe when I leave my job.

 

Talking of leaving my job I'm changing... err.. "companies" so to speak. Though I'll be paid less I get a snazzy uniform, better oportunities and I can travel the world for free. The training is a bit on the long side though

 

I love music. I don't follow bands but tunes. Though I do have a liking for such bands as: The Offspring, Trivium, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Motley Crue and the GOD that is Richard Cheese.

 

My favourite TV shows include CSI, Law & Order (Original, Criminal Intent (mmmm Bobby Goren aka Vincent D'onofrio) and Special Victims Unit), Firefly, How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs, House, Arrested Development, Waking The Dead... etc etc

 

My favourite movies include Azumi, Zatoichi, Reservoir Dogs, Flawless, Black & White, Love & a .45, Schindlers List, Lord of War, Gone In 60 Seconds, The Mask, Zu Warriors from the Magic Mountain, Lady Snowblood, Kill Bill (I & II)... etc etc

 

My hobbies include shooting, hunting, drawing, reading, writing, collecting movie posters, travelling, music (playing), films, computer maintenance, gaming... etc etc

 

My favouritest thing at the moment: World of Warcraft.

I'm Ciarae, ( Kiera...spelt weirdly), I'm 17, I live in Romford which is just on the very edge of East London, and I go to sixth form at the moment. I work for Liz Claiborne, an american designer company part time which I quite enjoy and the money is quite good too.

I'm very into IT and TV, I'm hoping to study Internet Computing at Uni next year and I'm currently attempting to build myself a computer which should be a good challenge.

I love many TV shows, CSI, 24, Buffy/Angel, ER, House etc to name just a few and I collect DVD boxsets of those shows.

I been going to Showmasters events since C6 and I just really enjoy the experience and the way conventions are a great way to exercise your passion towards Tv and Film plus meet people with similar intrests. I love going to parties, I play Bass guitar and Piano and love 80's Heavy and Thrash Metal.

Wow, thanks for replying guys you all sound so cool hopefully i'll get to meet some of you when I get my ass 'down sarf'. I'm gonna be honest and say that alot of the stuff on this forum confuses me it's probably because I don't watch alot of tv, infact I dont' really watch much to be honest-usually i'm too busy or on the net (terrible considering i'm studying acting However, I do love Lost and like watching scrubs and Stargate SG1, that rocks I like the usual stuff like will and grace, repeats of Friends :dull: and anything on Abc1 (withing reason).

 

Keith/VVD- that's cool that you write, that's hard to do so respect, lol. Gosh I know i've tried so many times and failed haha.

 

Zimbing-i'm at Stow, pretty s***ty place actually but it's not too bad. I go to the one in the West end; if you know the one I mean...few people do.I know a couple of peeps at ur uni

You've started something here, which is brilliant.

 

I'm Marina, I'm from Newcastle Upon Tyne, I'm 28. I like to go to cinema (when get the chance), cooking, reading, spending time with friends coming to SM events and working my socks off and having the best time in the world. I work for the NHS as an admin assistant for the business performance and IT, work to far too many people, or not a lot of money. I'm going back to uni (well college this year, long story) to study business management, may specialise is events (with doing events or 7-8 years now, want to learn more what goes on behind the scenes as such) not sure, option still open to me.

 

My fav movies are too many to be listed, so will LOTRs, Indy Films, Matrix, love Disney movies, Ususal Suspects................The list is endless.

 

TV shows, Buffy, Angel, Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, Battlestar Gallactica, Commander In Cheif, 24................... again list is endless.

 

Music ranges from pop to rock, depending on songs, but like Iron Maiden, Poison, Bon Jovi, Black Sabbath to chessey pop music

 

Reading wise, I ready anything that sounds good and interesting, that will stop and make me think.

I'm Kirsty and I'm 18, from Bath. I was at 6th form studying drama and media. But I quit because it sucked, so am now in the process of trying to find some full time work, so I can quit my job at Argos and earn lots more pennies

 

I like all kinds of things! Movies; everything other than horror. I don't really have a favourite movie...

Music; bits of this bits of that. Let me try and give you some idea... the CD in my CD player is Ashlee Simpson, Kelly Clarkson is open on my floor. We saw Less Than Jake on the 13th, and I am a McFangirl.

Books. Am reading Harry Potter HBP for the bazillionth time. Just finished Lion, witch and the wardrobe, and am a few chapters into the Da Vinci Code.

 

I like cinema, theatre, bowling, ice-skating, frisbee throwing.

 

I spend the vast majority of my time bumming around with my tother half Mat, who will be around next weekend.

 

I don't really watch a lot of TV but when I do it's most likely to be Friends or Simpsons or Scrubs on my TV box.

 

Have been doing cons since C4, and loved it.

My name is Ellie, I'm 23 and I live in Swindon, Wiltshire. I love music and I have a really eclectic CD collection! I'm into a bit of everything except Jazz. And Country. And most opera. so maybe not everything! lol

 

Books: I just started reading LOTR again cuz I got half way through, didn't read it for a long time and forgot everything I had read before so I had to go back to the beginning! I also love The Journey by Josephine Cox, the sequel Journeys End has just come out and I look forward to the paperback lol

 

Movies: I love ROMCOMS and I am a self confessed Ringer! LOTR is my fave films of all time

 

I've been going to Collectormania since C4. I've yet to go to anything else yet so if I actually manage to get to LFACC4 in July it will be my first!

Because I'm quite bored, I thought I'd do this.

 

So I'm Kell, real name Kelly but hardly anyone calls me that anymore. I'm the grand old age of 19 and I'm from Swinton in Manchester. I'm a full time sales assistant at Animal, yes that Animal the clothing line, and I love it. When I'm not working I hang around with my boyfriend I'm currently learning to snowboard so I can go to Switzerland next year for my first snowboarding holiday.

 

Like everyone else on the planet I love films and music. My fave films being Garden State, LOTR, the Crow, Benny & Joon and the Princess Bride. It's a pretty random selection I know I'm pretty easy going when it comes to music, I'll listen to most stuff although I'm currently loving Red Hot Chili Peppers (taking my fella to see them in July). As for TV, well I watch the Mighty Boosh which I'm obsessed with and CSI if I remember it's on. I also love reading and think more people should do it. I'm currently getting into various graphic novels and love books that I can really lose myself in.

 

I've been to C4, C5, C6, C7, C8, LFACC 1 & 2 and GMEX1. I won't be at C9 as I'm just no longer really interested in the conventions although I'll miss my friends loads

I'm Alison aged 24. I live in a little village on the outskirts of Milton Keynes.

 

I am the Deputy Manager at the creche in the shopping centre in MK. I've been there 6 years now and really enjoy it.

 

I've been to collectormania since C2, first really got interested at C3 when Billy Boyd attended! Also been to GMEX and one of the LFCC.

 

I enjoy travelling (not that i manage it much) I've pretty much explored the whole of Scotland! I also enjoy photography. I have way to many photo!

 

I love LOTR and Harry Potter (films and books). Also really into Lost at the mo. Fave films are LOTR, HP, anything with Johnny Depp, Beaches, Titanic, Pirates of the Carribean. Cant think of any more right now! Don't tend to watch too much TV, spend more time on the net/forums/ebay!

 

I spend most of my time in the centre:mk shopping centre either working, shopping, hanging out with friends or at collectormania events!!

I'm Suzi, I also go by Schmooz, Boozy, Booz, Sooz, Muse... and anything else that people can think the rhymes... so original .

I'm 18, studying for A levels in ICT, Media Studies and Textile Art and next year going to Banbury college to do Art Foundation.

No idea where that will take me but I'm sticking with what I do best . I'm quite interested in costume design/set design so looking for something along those lines.

 

I'd love to go travelling and am desperate to go back to India, where I spent the Christmas before last.

 

Generally I can be found online if I'm not out with my friends, procrastinating and in no way doing ANY work towards the mentioned A levels as I am a self-confessed lazy bum.

 

I like to dance and drink and be with my friends. Infact... scrap that, I'm happiest when I'm dancing, be it in a club, by myself, or in my dance lessons. (Though the lessons get tedious and I complain far too much)

With dancing goes music (if that wasn't a silly thing to point out). I always have music with me, my iPod is pretty much PART of me.

I have a pretty broad range of music tastes and go through phases reaaaaaaally quickly... I adore ska music, went through the emo phase (had to be said) and now, well, I duno... It's just really, really mixed!!! take a look HERE, it'll give more of an idea maybe.

I'm probably far too vain for my own good. I blame MySpace.

I love being infront of the camera too much. Even if I pretend I don't AND complain about most photographs when I get shown them.

 

I've loved Harry Potter since the books started, and thats what brought me here!

Have been attending SM events since C3, when a 15 year old fangirl love for Tom Felton set me off and... here I am three years later.

I love all kinds of movies, musicals are great fun. I LOVE the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

 

As for TV... it's kinda hard to watch from here sat infront of the PC... but I'm slightly obsessed with The O.C.. and Lost.. and I now love The Mighty Boosh (Kell takes great pride in being blamed for that!)

 

Uhhh... If I thought about it enough I could probably sit here and talk about myself some more.. but I may have done far too much already!!

 

Welcome to the forum, we're not that scary REALLY!!!

Join in with the randomness and get to know us, it makes the events much more interesting when you can go up to somone and say "ohhhh you're so-and-so"
