Yes, the GDPR might have been a reason for some delay. As an organisation, Showmasters would have looked at the bigger picture and decided whether publishing photos taken after May 25th (including those bought at the show) was conforming to the new GDPR regulations. My issue is that Showmasters published a statement saying photos are anonymous or you can't identify people. This is so wrong that it's laughable. Identifying people doesn't necessarily mean knowing a name. As the ICO said regarding what is personal data "Simply because you do not know the name of an individual does not mean you cannot identify [them]. Many of us do not know the names of all our neighbours, but we are still able to identify them" Selling tickets online and getting customers to tick a box agreeing to terms (including that photos will be sold online) is great, but how do you distinguish photos bought online from those bought at the show? They can't....Punters aren't made aware or asked for consent when buying at sales desk to their photos (personal data) being published online.

What Showmasters say: "As we DO NOT identify the indiividuals in our photo shoots, bar the actor they are with, we are not infringing on individuals privacy as per the new laws...we are not infringing individual's privacy and they remain anomynous" From Article 4 of the GDPR regulations: "'personal data' means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ('data subject'); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person" So with photo galleries there is lots of information which can be used to personally identify (directly or indirectly) individuals. Information that is revealed in photos might be: Sex/Gender Date and Location of photo Skin Colour/Ethnic background Age range Religious affiliation Other physical factors like visible markings, tattoos or disabilities This information could be used to identify who they are.

Looks more to do with Gdpr. Are people who buy photos on the day at events made aware the photos will be published? Do they consent to it....how is this consent stored? Photos are identifiable information....they are absolutely not ‘anonymous’ in nature.

You pay a lot of money for photos, so having as much of you and the actor in the photo as possible is surely a good thing, right? Personally if I was photographing them I'd be giving attendees 3/4 length portrait by default!

Highs Most guests were lovely to meet, especially seeing Peter Capaldi who was on top form. Even with cancellations, this was a great line-up for fans. Staff were generally quite helpful and pleasant. A-D Photo layout was better this year, a bit more space for queuing. Lows Seagal - he was on an ethereal plane, somewhere in dreamland I think. Photo E had some issues with overexposure on Saturday. Given the fact LFCC is probably the biggest event in the world for the amount of photoshoots taken over a weekend, I think I'm happy enough with most of mine! Photo D queuing - I don't think trying to shove people into separate batches within a big queue works well, especially when more and more people come along and the crew tries to slot them into the already packed queue. Understandable for Gold/DP. Seems an awful lot of DP sold for guests which I feel creates a much more rushed experience at times, but I suppose it's understandable given how much some of these guests cost to bring them here! The alternative is lowering the DP sold and raising prices...not a fan of that choice :)

Seemed like he was phasing in and out from an alternate universe....was as though some attendees were strange or invisible creatures to him.

Imagine if they actually read names on tickets and asked for id. Shoots would be running til midnight.

Maybe somebody made a mistake. If they haven't, then there's some major bugs in Eventbrite's software to be randomly giving 20 refund on an 85 ticket.

It's always a risk going to one of these big events to meet only 2-3 guests. What's true though, is guests obviously help an organiser sell tickets. When specific guests cancel, the customer is left in the lurch and may think it unfair they can't get the cost of their entry ticket back...but spare a thought for the organiser. Cancellations - especially in the 2 weeks leading up to an event - can cost a lot in terms of unrecoverable expenses. Not just the monetary expenses associated with booking guests, but the sheer time and effort put into arranging their appearance.

So what will happen with the Steven Straight photoshoot I already bought for Friday?

Since I pointed out a bug in the Friday photoshoot for Wes, I see both Wes and Steven's shoots vanished from the store for Friday. Are they still doing that day?

Whilst the moment you have with a celebrity is fleeting, sometimes a few seconds, you do get the opportunity to see the celebrity taking photos with other fans, usually 10-20 in front of you - it's always nice seeing how happy other fans are when they are getting their photos.

Nico for me. I enjoyed his performance in hard target too, where he gave great depth and humility to what was a very difficult role...that of playing the Invisible Man.
