  1. Have you tried the Ibis? They have a webpage. They are not 160, but I think they are still above your limit. 54 or something.
  2. Difficult question. I think Anthony Head comes out on top, with Alexis Denisof being close second and Alyson in third place. Adam Busch was great to meet, too, so was Amber. Anthony mainly won because I met him on my birthday and I got a birthday kiss I guess. That wasn't at an event, but when he was on stage in the West End. Alyson I met too when she was performing on stage. There were so many people waiting at the stage door to meet her, but she was nice and friendly to everyone.
  3. Shes pregnant isnt she (not sure if shes had it) Might not be able to fly She's had the child meanwhile. But with a little one around, I am fairly sure one of the last things on her mind is attending a convention.
  4. I'm going with you here. 6/7 too, although if LFACC is really "the big one", it should be more.
  5. I had a similar problem with Billy Boyd last year. I had a friend with me in the queue - she had a virtual queue ticket, but was not allowed to take a photo of Billy and me. You can probably guess it: the volunteer cut me out of the picture! For C7, I was pretty lucky. No "total losses" this time. Jolene is almost cut out of my photo with her and the one with Nichelle Nichols is pretty dark. Only the one with Paul McGann turned out crap. The girl taking it probably focused on the bright window in the background, so we are basically two shadows against a white wall. And she took two photos which both look that way. *sighs* I know the volunteers didn't do this on purpose. But please SM, could you consider assigning those photo taking jobs to people who manage to handle at least basic cameras? Like Lams I specifically bring a point and klick camera just for photos with the guests because I know my large zoom lens camera scares most people. Still that doesn't seem to be enough precaution.
  6. First announcement : we are pleased to welcome Jessica Alba at LFCC3 Second announcement : DavidB has to work during the whole week-end crewing for David Prowse and Sala Baker ROTFLOL Thanks lams, I really needed that laugh.
  7. Come on, Sala and Craig were not at C7. LOL
  8. Too right ..... one is never enough what star wars guest is going? Wayne Pygram. If he is attending, that is.
  9. Yes, I'd come anyway. But as Martine says... not only for the event. We're going theatre hopping, too. BTW Martine: Which play was Dougray Scott in? Is it still running?
  10. I may remember wrong.... but didn't Andrea say in a topic that somebody posted the day Adrian Paul was announced that they had more guests left to announce, but they would do so after Collectormania? There was a topic asking if Adrian was the only announcement for that night, and I am pretty sure (99 percent actually) someone posting under the showmasters ID said that.
  11. Erm... I honestly don't know what the problem is. I just checked the TI Website and there's still single, double and twin rooms available at the TI Central for the period of C8. The only thing that seems to be booked are family rooms.
  12. Where did you get this info from? When we left the TI on the Monday of C7, there were still plenty of rooms available. In fact, the girl at the recpetion just took another booking when we asked her to call a taxi and asked if we wanted to make a booking fo C8, too. That situation might have changed meanwhile, but in no way the hotel was booked up even before C7 started.
  13. There was an announcement via the speakers who won in the Monday afternoon. Can't remember who though. It was one winner and three or four runner ups.
  14. My friend and I got approached by a film team, too. A lady and a camera man without a microphone. Seemed they were looking for fans from other countries. Asked us some questions and then made us repeat a summary of our statements because supposedly the questions were not taped without an extra microphone. We were both assuming it was a local news team, too, but I'd appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this.
  15. There were signs Sunday and Monday about both no photos and no personalisations. As for all people with low ticket numbers being locals: I came from Germany, my room mate even from the US. We had tickets in the low 60s. How we got them? 1) We did know James was going to be popular. So we 2) got in line at 3.30 AM in the morning. 3) we bothered to check on things first (you could clearly see where James was going to be seated from the windows), so 4) we lined up at the closest door. I understand why you are grumpy, spolky. But you can't blame everything on Showmasters. You made all that effort and yet there were other fans making even more efforts. That's the actual problem I think. I'll bypass most of the rude stuff that was going on here inbetween and just try to give my two cents on your original comments. 1) only one ticket for a whole family. This won't work. How can you tell apart who's family and who's not? People would try to get through their friends as sisters, brothers, whatever. I've been to a couple of these events organised by other companies, and I have seen what can happen. 2) limited autographs per person. There is a limit of 5 items if there is virtual queueing. Especially for popular guests this was strictly enforced at C7 (James, Jolene and Alexis for example). Like it was mentioned here earlier, some people collect stuff for friends who can't make it. 5 sounds like a fair compromise to me. Arms full of stuff... Maybe these people were dealers, and I am not exactly familiar how the rules at C7 were for them. Everything else has been covered by previous posters, no need to start the heat again. And no, I am no member of the crew or something. Collectormania 7 was my fifth Showmasters event and yes, I had my gripes with them before. I wasn't entirely happy at C7 either (talk tickets anyone? ), but it was overall a nice experience for me anyway.
  16. yep or jonas bear!!! you wont miss him he comes complete with a banana!!!! Okay, even *I* should be able to spot one of the bears. See you all on Friday - I'll sign off now, my ride to the airport arrives at 8 AM tomorrow.
  17. Okay, so in case my silly mind gets foggy and I completely forget to look for you guys... I just look for General Keynes, correct?
  18. No, it isn't too late. Please calm down everyone. Seriously. No need to panic.
  19. for some reason i thought you where english. i wonder why? I got no idea.
  20. Isn’t he slow and chattly like Robert Englund ? He can be, but then thats sometimes a good thing to have a little chat with him. It's a case of you TRYING to get away from HIM. lol At LFACC JRD had an open queue towards the end of Sunday for several hours. I went up to see him at 2 PM or something and he had no queue at all, I could see him right away. I'd put him behind Sean in your ranking in any case. Yes, he is chatty. But it's not that bad.
  21. No, he was 20. I am sure about that. Got the photo to prove it. One of my pictures has the price sign with 20 pounds in the background. EDIT: Billy Boyd was 15 pounds at C6. Could it be you are mixing the two up?
  22. You are are correct with that, he was 15 pounds last time.
  23. I got many, most of them were already mentioned. So I'll go with "Band Candy" now. Young Ripper.
  24. You're right, JRD was 20 at LFACC 1. I'm guessing 20 for Sean Astin (Sam), Bernard Hill (King Theoden), Alexis Denisof (Wesley), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), James Marsters (Spike), Jolene Blalock (T'Pol). JRD should be 15 going from MSPG, and Anthony Stewart Head was 15 at C4.
