  1. They are good enough for most people to mess with, crop or get fair sized prints if needed :-) I just expected much bigger resolution images to get much bigger prints. I may be just very picky in wanting the full size images. The whole out of focus thing only applies to me as one of my photos was not got in focus on the day by the photographer. I am sure the vast majority of images will be in focus tgat were uploaded, so it should not effect most. Hopefully that makes sense haha I am confusing myself at times :-D Many thanks, so I am guessing focus will be ok on mine as original were ok on day and that when I do download it will be a normal not tumbnail size to play around with? :-)
  2. Ok so putting it in laymans terms i, i.e basic speak for me....found my pics in online library, opened and they came up in thumbnail size. Are you saying that if I purchase the actual download they are still small i.e putting resolution aside a second are they in 9 x 6 " size as original - but then you are saying resolution out on some so out of focus etc??
  3. Thanks, may well wait and purchase Jpegs :-)
  4. Totally agree with above - and would so wish that you could get Peter or Kit. In addition Tom Burke Luke Pasqualino Paul McGann
  5. Thanks, I had seen that the Jpegs can be bought, just wondered though about position with taking originals to be scanned etc
  6. Hi, just a quick query. I know that the professional photos from the shoots have been paid for so are now mine . I don't have a scanner and do want to do a few copies, what is the position if I take them to a Printing/Photo ship for them to scan and print- i.e are they copyrighted?
  7. Have to admit to seeing another side here...if you were only able to attend on one day i.e in this case and had prebooked ( or on day managed to) photo shoot with Guest you want i.e. RDA then I do think it's fair that those people have precedence as they are unable to come back over weekend , unlike those with weekend passes or able to attend all 3 days. Sometime people don't choose to one day just because they want to it could be down to work or family commitments so hence that is their only chance. I personally would have understood on the day - coming from your side I would say that if I then agreed to come back on the Sat/Sun then I would want a guarantee that I would get a photo.
  8. Hi, I want extra copies of my prof photos, think I read on here somewhere that better to get the digital copies as quality better than scanning and when adjusting size and image etc?
  9. echoing a lot of sentiments here. I felt the main problem was overcrowding and concerned to read that Olympia would have been more than happy to let even more people in on the Saturday which was the day I was there. Heaven knows what would have happened if a fire alarm or similar had gone off !!!....just walking around proved a problem and there were a lot of people who just didn't move out of the way or banged into me, one very lovely chap leaving a lovely scram mark on my arm with his bag and no apology. Levels 1 and 2 way too congested and I was grateful my Guests were up on Level 3 for the autographs and that I had got everything done by around 3pm. I am claustrophobic so don't do lifts, finding the stairs was a nightmare and they were narrow and congested and one misleading sign saying stairs to ground level just took you to the exit and YALC area , not the ground floor with stalls etc. Photo shoot areas should all be in one place and signing areas on one level. Also way too many stalls , all looking very similar. I can not see me attending again - yes in some ways worth it because did get some lovely moments with my Guests - again that is the luck of the draw. I only paid standard entry, photoshoot tickets and autos , would have been very annoyed if shelled out for Gold etc and gone through some of the things I have been reading here. Also add on travel and accommodation it is not cheap.
  10. definitely... back to work yesterday after Con and having had a weeks holiday ...so distracted ...could have something to do with the fact brought photos in to gaze at!! At the time is seems all so surreal when you meet your fave guest and then over next few days you start to recall what was said and little moments etc ...'all for one and one for all'!!
  11. Tom was a real sweetheart, wasn't he? Absolutely - if he didn't have my heart before he stole it then
  12. I count myself lucky that the guests I had booked for were able to be there on the day, it is always nerve wracking leading up to the weekend watching the Forum in case of cancellations. I met Tom and Luke from The Musketeers and luckily both autographs and photo shoots went well ( having said that my photo shoots were in the morning so may have been different for their second sessions at end of day), I got inside at 9.05 so had time before first photo shoot with Tom at 9.30am to get up to level 3 and get VQ's for their autographs. I then went back to ground floor for the photo shoot with Tom , I was nervous as such a big fan,but he was lovely, very relaxed, friendly and happy to hug! and my photo is great. After that I went back upstairs to see how busy Luke was for autographs as I had an hour before my photo shoot with him. His table was quiet so queued up and whilst I was waiting he looked across to me a few times...when I got up to the table the first thing he said was that he liked my TShirt which made my day! He was really lovely and after getting a signed picture I said I would see him at the photo shoot. He was great fun at the photo shoot as well and after photo was taken I bravel,y and impulsively, gave him a kiss on cheek to say thanks. What I love about the experiences with autos and photos is getting to chat to other fans, we are all usually quite nervous and it's great to share the experience and support each other. Having plenty of time to unwind a little now and having had my VQ ticket called for Tom I waited to meet him until after lunch. I went back up to level 3 for about 1.45 and joined the queue, after about 20 mins you start to get a bit more relaxed and just think -in a nice way- come on guest, then Tom walks in and up goes the heart rate again lol. He was really lovely and quietly spoken, I got a photo at the table and also gave him a small gift and letter which he loved. So in all I had a wonderful time. I do know from previous events and looking through Forums that unfortunately some guests can be offhand etc and I feel sorry for the fans as I know how much meeting them means. As for me 'hug a Musketeer and you can't fail!'
  13. I was lucky that both the Guests I had booked for were there on the day i.e Tom and Luke from the Musketeers. Everything went smoothly both with the autographs and photo shoots and both of them were lovely. I left one very happy M'lady!
  14. Hi I attended yesterday and wanted to say a big thank you to the organisers and crew, like many leading up to the event I had been checking the Forum for all the necessary information. With regard to the queuing and getting in, I had arrived at 7.45am, doors opened at 9am, and I was in by 9.05am which was great as had first photo shoot at 9.30am. It did involve a lot of walking around, very slow at times because of so many people - and of course some were there for different reasons i.e to take time and browse merchandise, whilst others who had several things booked had to dart between levels and areas- but that is the nature of the event. My only niggle related firstly to the stairs between levels ( I don't like lifts and have no problem doing stairs) but at times it was frustrating trying to find the right ones and kept circling around although one said ground floor it took you only to YALC area and exit outside etc not the Hall with photo areas etc. 2nd niggle was the impatience of some walking around, I lost count how many people behind me kept standing on back of my heel and pulling shoe almost off , also big thanks to the guy who banged into me with his bag scramming my arm and just carrying on!! Having said that I really want to say a big thank you..... luckily my guests were there and this lady left an extremely happy if shattered lady.
  15. Hi, over the years been to a few with Showmasters and ealier years the big sci fi cons ( ran my own in Cardiff too!), I always get nervous at big events and like many looking at the Forum every two minutes to check Guest status etc. Having said that they are great fun and everyone is friendly so first timers don't worry and if you see me by all means say hello
  16. Hi, have been planning for Saturday and got everything straight re areas and times etc....one question I can see on Olympia's floor plan the symbols for stairs but they all have Exit written on them - is that general exit outside again or will those stairs take you up to next levels? I ask at will need to go to level 3 and don't do lifts!
  17. Eventbrite can't win! I for one didn't mind the reminder at all - yes I know it is hardly likely we would forget the event itself was happening, but I think it was more also to confirm dates/times and the all important 'bring the tickets' (if you are using printed option). I am an organised person but with all the excitement these things can happen. Then someone would prob get there having forgotten the tickets and say they should have been sent a reminder!
  18. I understand that Guests have right to cancel due to change in work commitments, but I really do feel for those who have specifically booked (and in many cases will be travelling a long way) to attend. I note some are saying they are not too concerned as are going to attend for the fun of the Con itself but when you are a big fan and have built up to finally seeing a fave actor it really is a blow. I too am now dreading further last minute cancellations and praying my Guests are still attending .....
  19. Staying at Novotel London West - 10 mins away from Venue
  20. Thanks, it does say contactless payments - I have a debit card but always do chip and pin, will it work? If not will have friend with me so can share cost of taxi
  21. Hi, kind of a reverse question here: I am ok getting to Event as coming up night before and staying in Hotel which is 10 mins walk - my coach stops in Earls Court coming up but does not go back that way so I need to get my return coach from Victoria. Rather than pay Taxi fare have been looking at buses as an idea ( can't do underground anymore as claustrophobic) - I have found one (C1) but know that it is all now paid by Oyster Cards. I only want a single fare for one journey that day but looking at their Site it just says Visitor Cards can be bought online but they start at £15...where can I buy a card for just a day ride? ....
  22. Hi Watch out Rochefort Cosplayer ...I secretly am a fan of Marc! Hey as we have Athos and D'Artagnan....if it it gets too long a day will they end up like..... I aim to be outside Venue at 8am, just hope queues then get in quick at 9am to allow us to get bearings and......comb my hair lol!!!!
