  1. Hi, I've been to all the Chevrons as well as CM and LFCC and I have to say that the system in place is the fairest I know... ....and as Mark and Jason do stress on numerous occasions, if there is a problem or issue then please let them or any of the crew know on the day - I'm serious - in my experience they will move heaven and earth to make sure it is sorted and that everyone comes away happy...if they don't know until afterwards then there is nothing they can do about it.....and if you don't get any joy from the first crew-member you ask then ask another one [politely obviously...these folks are volunteers y'know ]
  2. Is there a hotel code? I didn't get chance to ask at checkout
  3. To be completely honest...I really don't mind who the guests are - all of them have been awesome (am a Chevron veteran LOL) ...would love Paul McGillion as I have a specific pic I'd love signed but I really don't mind new or return guests
  4. Another fabulous Chevron - please keep on doing these, have been to them all and love 'em. The guests were all fabulous - shame we couldn't have Peter and Patrick together as I'll bet they are a total hoot! Thanku a trillion XO
  5. got mine today too! I am beyond excited (and sadly I am acting my shoesize and not my age )
  6. LOVED Peter's DJing last night. I know some peeps missed the con songs but as Sunday is usually more 'mellow' than Fri/Sat I have to say that I really enjoyed the change and had a fabulous time!
  7. Having not long been home from 7.7 am now VERY excited about this one. I've been lucky enough to meet Amanda before and she is BRILL! Gorgeous, witty, talented....grrrrrr Am very excited and counting down to Feb!
  8. I agree - much as I would love to meet him again at any time (he was particularly lovely at MK this year) I understand he has to make a living and I get the impression he would hate to cancel at the last minute (even though we would understand that)
  9. This forum really does make me chuckle sometimes. I know everyone is entitled to their opinions and freedom of speech but there do seem to be a lot of people who come over as expecting Mark and Jason to be responsible for weather, hotel management, building of conference centres, filming schedules and the worldwide recession to name just a few I have never seen Sanctuary, and I don't know much about the TV and film industry, but I do know enough to know that 'compromise' is not a dirty word but an essential in ANY industry these days. As far as I am concerned, if we want to continue with these events (and I really do!) then as Stargate is no longer on air then to get people to pay hard-earned cash might well mean some compromises. I've never met a 'bad' (bad choice of word but I can't think of anything else at the moment) guest at any Chevron event (or Showmasters by the way) so I am sure that Robin will be really interesting and will no doubt do his utmost to win everyone over - I obviously don't know the guy, but I would imagine he isn't daft and will know that 99% of people will be coming to meet Amanda, but hey, if he and Amanda can 'sell' Sanctuary to a whole new legion of fans then why knock them for it? To be blunt, we wouldn't have got RDA without the Sea Shepherd association and I found that something new and interesting, so I for one really don't mind and I'm looking forward to meeting him...............he will have some 'Amanda' stories to tell if nothing else!
  10. I really liked SGU....was beginning to think I was in a minority until this weekend so go ME and get em! Looking forward to Patrick Gilmore (I love his Laptop Chats) and I will always make the effort to meet David Blue as he is fab! To me Chevron 7.7 has proven to me that all the guests are always great value and often the non 'big names' are really brilliantly entertaining! Three words proved this - 'Chico' and 'Sunday DJ'
  11. Absolutely! Thanks for posting this - I was laughing too much to get any photos of this at all!!!
  12. Gotta add my thank-yous to Jason, Mark, the incredibly hard-working crew, Malcolm for fab photos as always and absolutely the guests too (highlights - Torri always lovely, Peter DJing on Sunday night and Chico=haven't laughed that much in ages - was laughing so much I didn't get any photos so hoping someone with a steadier hand than me got some I can keep for posterity!)
  13. Folks, the last time a 'major' guest cancelled I still had the BEST time at Chevron and I find that sometimes the guest you are not really bothered about meeting turn out the be very interesting and charismatic! This will still be a great con so go with the flow........Jason and mark haven't let us down yet so it will still be brilliant! And after a nightmare few weeks at work I for one am just excited to meet up with my friends and kick back and meet more interesting people (guests and attendees) and am counting sleeps
  14. He's gotta have the forehead emblem...that would be cool
  15. hello. my name is amily. i will be attending chevron 7.7. i have a room but i will be on my own. i will be arriving some time between 6 and 7pm. it would be nice to meet up with someone and have a chat and maby keep each other company during the day. and maby even have a laught togather. i would happilt meet you at the con my email is eccheethamrules@hotmail.co.uk and i am on facebook under emily cheetham and i have a stargate picture as my profile picture. so yes im happy to accompent. :) Folks, I am coming to this one with friends but was on my own at my very first con and made said friends who are now friends for life! Its very daunting on your own isn't it? But seriously, you could not hope to meet a friendlier group of people than you can at a Chevron so deep breaths and say Hi to the first person you see LOL. I'm Lou - I'll not be in costume but will be the no doubt embarrassing myself on several occassions and happy to chat
  16. Hate to say this but I heartily agree...if you can't see your shoot then move on and let others have a look, don't just stand there crowding it up grrrr
  17. Thank YOU!! Have made my friend very happy and the funds going to a great cause it was a pleasure.
  18. Jason, Too Tall and the other two ladies who's names I missed, and of course Mr Tennant himself, a HUMUNGOUS thank-you. I hope it makes my friends smile in the face of a terrible week.
  19. gotta agree...the guy was absolutely LOVELY to absolutely EVERYONE!
  20. Erm, we were all told waaaaay in advance when we purchased them. I knew I would be front row of the standards because of my number and me and friends were all looking at our numbers to see how close we were because we all knew it would be done in that way. I have to say that having experienced the major free-for-all that was the William Shatner paid for talk last year.....the Karen Gillan arrangements were BRILLIANT and totally fair this year.....Too Tall could do with sounting louder on the mic though ;-) Frankly if everyone did as they were asked then it would have been smoother still
  21. Big yes...too big? no. fabulous atmosphere and brilliant guests. Loving Showmasters......... These guys move heaven and earth to sort out problems as long as they are mentioned at the time and not afterwards.
  22. Karen was lovely but my highlight was Joel....such a lovely guy, had a chat and photo and he is gorgeous which doesnt hurt either
  23. Thanks to everyone for an awesome event yesterday...guests and crew BIG thanks to Jason for sorting me out a disappointment..I am now bouncing with happiness! An thanks to Bam Bam for making Bella's weekend awesome...........and thanks to Mary, Diane, Bella, Mel and Victoria...we have such a great time at these events don't we?!
