dragonsanddaffodils
How does one complain about issues on this forum that they are not happy with? Too Tall said this in his general rules post if you do not agree with a rule or are having issues with the way in which the moderators are enforcing the rules, then you are more than welcome to make a complaint to Showmasters (info@showmastersonline.com). hope that helps
Moderators DavidB Posted June 25, 2010 Moderators Share Posted June 25, 2010 I would of course suggest that if anyone is deadly serious about making a complaint against anyone on the moderating team or the organisers, it probably isn't in your best interests to be making/joining any Facebook groups however 'jokey' they may be. It's really not going to encourage Showmasters to take your comments on board.

talie
There's no card, just fact, I should go back to the Twilight section where it's safe from being tarred with your bad brush Are you being serious? I can't tell... Banning three of the most prolific posters in this section isn't going to do much else, is it? As for 'not having a choice' - there were multiple options. Jumping from 'okay here's a warning' to, 'hey you're banned, here's why for the world to see' is cowardly. It's not confronting the issue, it's putting it in a box and hoping it goes away. You couldn't like, E-Mail and let them know you were serious? It's obvious you're being totally selective as well - I was at it, as was that Talie girl (who took the schoolyard approach of 'the bad boys made me do it') By joining in with conversations, you've condoned those conversations - now they weren't okay? Just cause it suits? You don't know me that well so I wont take offence to the above lol, but it was SHEER sarcasm, I liked posting in this part of the forum because I found those guys funny and it had more leeway. Though I will add I don't know what I was "at" lol. Edited June 25, 2010 by Talie

talie
I dunno if SM would be willing to do this but to stop things happening like this could there be like a password protected 18+ part of the forum as well? :S
RainbowDisney
I'm not sure, as I don't think they have that option. They can only work with whatever controls Invision give them in the first place. It could also cause a lot more segregation of the members on here.
dragonsanddaffodils
No problem. Talie, Thats if that is a route they want to go down. It is not nice as a mod having to go onto the spam in order to report the spammer and delete it, cos you still have to see the filthy images that they are putting on our forum, so could you imagine if it was an 18 rated forum, then you would have to have volunteers willing to volunteer to moderate it. I must admit, I wouldnt want to. There are also internet "patrols" for want of a better word that check sites, so if there was stuff on the forum that was 18 rated, then it could mean the forum be shut down as it is a forum within a forum, not a separate web addrss. The forum is supposed to be family friendly, so that would change it completely if one of its sections was 18+ Very difficult. There is nothing to stop you guys chatting like that on facebook etc, as most of the conversations I saw werent really on a topic to do with the conventions either, more like friends chatting away, so if you want to still do that, then facebook/twitter etc is perfect for that

I guess it just relates to whatever version you buy.. whether it's Standard or Pro as to what features you have access to.

Guest anniekins
Hi, I don't know what has happened recently, neither do I want to know. I have been observing for a while now and been withholding my personal view on this particular matter, but feel the need to post my opinion regarding the question that has been raised considering the moderation of this Glasgow Board. I feel that David has tried exceptionally hard to show his moderation to be well balanced, especially after being singled out for, in my opinion, uneccessary harsh treatment. I feel that his participation in this thread was a gesture of inclusion and of showing his willingness to create a fresh start. I do not think, in my opinion, that it is warranted to suggest that the ability to unban or adopt another way to have dealt with whatever the situation was, is solely and exclusively the ability of just one moderator. Therefore I feel that it is unfair some of the comments that have been directed towards him, when it is evident for all to see that David has tried really hard to show his keeness for inclusion. I am of the opinion that David is 'damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't' and this is unfair as we are all guilty, as I have mentioned a few times, of choosing our words and phrases unwisely even when there was no intention to cause an offence. I am sorry if this feels awkward to anyone, but I cannot just sit back and see something, that I know is wrong and very unfair, happening no matter who or what it is. Please try to understand what I am trying to say, and I'm sorry but I had to type this because It is wrong what is happening. I stress vigorously, that I am not interested in any argument but accept my view on this particular matter. Best wishes and every success Ann *EDIT* If my opinion on such an observation is not allowed please feel free to delete this.
dragonsanddaffodils
Well, yours is obviously a carefully considered and well thought out observation, so I personally dont see a problem with it. It will be nice if the forum just resumes normal service, and everybody can get on with looking forward to the con. I would have loved to come, but I am in Wales, and at the moment.............skint! lol So I have had to opt for not coming this time, but maybe next year Hope everyone has a fantastic time at the show

Dunno how I missed it initially. I only meant 18+ for like the kinda convo that was going on in here, the sheer sarcasm and the odd thing that might offend some people- due to the fact it's family friendly, nothing like pornographic or that believe me I'm against that, my friends tell me to get off my high horse frequently lol cus im fairly prudish. It was just an idea to I dunno prevent stuff like this happening =[

dragonsanddaffodils
no sadly It would just be too expensive for us at the moment. I could fly quite reasonably, but it just doesnt balance out money wise Never mind, have a class booked that weekend, which only has one space left without rehashing, some of the images in the removed thread were,..........well,.........you saw. It is a family forum, and I wouldnt have been happy with my youngest seeing them. But that topic is finished now Having a nice sing song Rach? dragonsanddaffodils
yeah, would have to go to london first, then there is an overnight one from london to glasgow. not good! dont think my back could cope with that. its only £55 for the flight, but £10 baggage on top, plus getting to cardiff airport which is about 3/4 of an hour away, then still need to pay for evening meals, and hotel for an extra night cos the other flight is Monday. Just doesnt add up for me at the moment, so will have to sit and mope while you all have fun lol Think the course on that weekend is iced modelled figures, but am also teaching carved handbag cake courses, sugar flowers, that sort of thing
