GoldenGreen
Sadly , most Horror sequels are just to cash in on a quick buck, and the films get worse and worse as the series go on, but there are a few exceptions. What do you think ?
theoden_of_rohan
Although I still prefer Alien, Aliens has got to be one of the BEST sequels EVER!
Moderators DavidB Posted November 16, 2004 Moderators Share Posted November 16, 2004 Hmm I'm gonna say Wes Craven's New Nightmare .. I thought it was a really good Freddy film, imaginative at the time and certainly a lot better than NOES 2/4/5/
Moderators DavidB Posted November 16, 2004 Moderators Share Posted November 16, 2004 Oooh or Army Of Darkness, great film
aliens vs predator
I voted aliens. It's my fav. film and a great follow up to another classic film.
Jason_Voorhees
From the list provided , its a tie between Aliens and Evil Dead 2.
Skylover
Evil Dead 2 (or 3)
nicky
I would say Aliens but I don't really see that as a proper horror film, more sf-action as opposed to Alien which is horror so out of the list I voted Damien: Omen 2. Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn come in close but just realised that it is more of a re-hash than sequel. Edited November 16, 2004 by nicky
porkfat
DAWN OF THE DEAD a.k.a. Dawn of the Living Dead - you can't touch me on zombie & cannibal movie knowledge! Dawn Of The Dead is the f***ing benchmark of 'horror' movie sequels. I'd like to include a shout for Guinea Pig 2 - Flowers of Flesh & Blood (best of the Guinea Pig series!). Nightmare Camp 3 & Sleepaway Camp 2 (whilst not exactly being brilliant horror movies...) were pretty f***ing funny (and therefore pretty f***ing cool!) horror sequels! oh! and finally! Zombie Flesh Eaters (Zombi 2) deserves a mention. (quasi-sequel)
nicky
Porkfat, Many of the crew from DOTD are at that Birmingham con this month...will you be there? Edited November 17, 2004 by nicky
porkfat
Porkfat,Many of the crew from DOTD are at that Birmingham con this month...will you be there? I love how we have to speak in code when it comes to mentioning other shows! To answer your question - no. sadly not. With an expensive Christmas looming, I have to watch the purse. I can't bring myself to look at the website of the show in question - Early, Emge, Reiginer... The wonderful silver lining being that I'm going to that (slightly cheaper) Forum meet and Ken Foree will be signing in my home town on the following Monday (29th) but still... it's not same. (don't even mention Lance!)
Imaniac
Voted for Evil Dead part deux - I would say there are better ones, but out of this 10 it has to be ED-II Mattzo - I'll post some Gaylen pics when I get back from Germany next week. Nevermore
Wishmaster 2 No comparison. Zombie films, in all their fantastical brilliance still lack an all-powerful soul-collecting demon in a smart suit...
porkfat
...I could be that zombie master! (good to see you back, Nevermore )
Nevermore
Yo, haven't been around in a while, thought I'd see where the zombie chat had got to! Yeah, I could so see how living-dead films need that zombiefied overlord. (with a smart suit no less!)
Return of Reaper
Dawn of the Dead. I got Gaylen's autograph a few weeks back when I was in the states
mario_the_apocalypse
I voted for Dawn of the Dead, because it is pure gold. All of Romero's Zombie flicks can stand alone as their own indivdual iconic movies. I also love F13th pt 7 and Jason X too!!!
Daniel
Dawn of the dead for sure
