miss my bag with Connor Trinneer Photo
CurlyKirsty replied to kevinCH's topic in Destination Star Trek London
Gutted that it hasn't turned up yet. As a fellow trekkie (DS9 is my fav) I hope we don't have to wait long for Connor to come back. Are you planning on doing any more events? -
This weekend's Movie Mart postponed until Nov.

Is Michael still scheduled to appear? -
There is no one site for booksignings. You can check Waterstones, WHSmith, HMV, Forbidden Planet, Foyles, etc. There are also independants (Clerkenwell?) but it might be worth asking the publishers which venues they use for promitional signing events?

Matthew Gray Grubler and Matt Smith in the same place would be amazing.

miss my bag with Connor Trinneer Photo
CurlyKirsty replied to kevinCH's topic in Destination Star Trek London
If anyone got Kevin's photo, please get in touch. Showmasters have the full details of what happened. The bag left behind only had Neelix pic and was standard goodie bag, so everyone check your bags for a photo of a stranger. And Kevin. I'm Ann on the crew. :-) -
Who was your favourite guest you met?
CurlyKirsty replied to miltonbones's topic in Destination Star Trek London
Out of all the guests, my favourite moment was when Ira Steven Behr walked past me, I managed to call him and ask him to pose for a pic. Priceless moment for me. :-D -
Did you like the show overall? Yes or no

Rooster, were you the lady with mohawk boy? I was crew and briefly stopped to remark on it. So adorable. :-P Your family and the Trek family where dad had long beard were very friendly at the show, hope to see you again. :-) -

I am a Star Trek fan: I cosplay but not Star Trek character, maybe I should? My favourite series is DS9, and I named my second daughter Majel! It is on her birth certificate. I got into fandom and conventions through Andromeda and my first convention was to meet Armin Shimmerman.
-
Obviously David Tennant is not that big of a name to draw the punters in..... Agreed the timing of the announcement was unfortunate, a lot of convention regulars have already got tickets for X and cannot afford both but if we could, we would. I have seen David's fans and they are bonkers like this: Personally, I am more looking forward to meeting Billie P and hanging out with friends as I have already met my favourite Doctors: Chris Eccleston and Matt Smith, Chris was so nice, going to see him again tomorrow.

I only had four hours on Sunday to cosplay as I stewarding most of the weekend. It was a case of blink and you missed it. I was Neitzchean from Andromeda and went to meet Kevin Sorbo before changing into my Doctor Who Unit Captain to meet Bernard Cribbins and Anthony Head. I changed into normal clothes to go home.

Having recently stayed in the hotel at another event, it is very good, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are really helpful. Just don't get caught carrying weapons in the bar after midnight! LOL Also be prepared to share the hotel with some really odd people, there were Teachers at a convention there when I was last there, you never know, next time it might be accountants or estate agents!

Will this be a 'new series only' Doctor Who convention or '
CurlyKirsty replied to Doctor Who's topic in Lords Of Time
You can wait before getting tickets, but you will lose out. I think this will sell out quite quickly. Though you may not be fans of the classic series but if they did go to this event you would find how nice those guys are. Tom Baker is legendary and take it from me, if you get a chance to hear him talk, take it. We are being so spoilt this year, lots of Doctory goodness. Just in time for the 50th Anniversary. -
I only had about three hours to try and cram in two cosplays, very tight. Blink and you miss it really. I was a neitzchean from Andromeda and then a Dr Who Unit captain. Finally changing into my own clothes to go home again. Kudos and respect to those people cosplaying with full costumes, wigs and make up for the whole day. It was very hot in the hall.

I was surprised, she was fairly quiet on Sunday, nowhere near as busy, I was expecting hordes of people queueing but it was fairly short. There was one point where they walked off and didn't tell the stewards when they would be back! It was open queue by late sunday morning. Sunday is normally quieter, it is more relaxed.

Outstanding crew members....who were your stars?
CurlyKirsty replied to Flibble's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2012
Please remember if you do have positive comments about the crew, mention which day you are referring to as they may be doing different guests or sections so are not in same place or doing the same job all weekend. -
Can I just say, I left my phone behind on Sunday in my rush to finish collecting all my photos and leave and it was handed in. Thank you to all the crew for getting it back to me. Was quite annoyed with myself for losing it but so relieved when Stuart called to say he was holding it in his hand as we spoke. Thanks to all the crew.

My first time doing the vq tickets so if I pissed anyone off I do apologise, also if anyone got upset with me trying to keep the photography to a minimum I do apologise, a couple of people remarked how sarky I was but I do tend to be when I have told you more than twice to can you stop filming and move away! The constant flashes affecting a nearby guest and the need to keep queue area clear were the reasons for this. Also I had a very rude person who upset me and caused a security breach which wasnt pleasant. The crew I worked with were so sweet and caring, I can't praise my pit bosses enough for being so accomodating. -

My husband's friend worked with Robert on a film based on a real event some years ago so was on set with him. I recall him asking me at the time about how "scottish" I was and if I heard about the recent historical event but he never would get me an autograph or anything as he is staunchly averse to that sort of sycophantic behavior. if i ever did meet Robert Carlyle I would mention this friend to him as he is quite well known to the industry LOL. Not going to rock the boat and bitch about it as our friend did get us in to Groucho's whilst James Corden and Bill Nighy were in the bar after a red carpet event and he is a brilliantly witty guy. So yes, get Robert to an event if possible.

What a shame Don S Davis passed on, he would have been great with Gillian as he played her father William Scully in The X Files. I met him several years ago and he was fantastic fun. I wish I had met him more than once. Oh well, still have a great photo and memories of him. Do you have any of his memorabilia to auction off?

The gorgeous Susan Varega from Fright Night along with David Tennant would be awesome. Peter Vincent and Ginger....
