On Saturday at LFCC we will be holding a Heroes talk. Tickets for the talk will cost £15, which will include:

a 30 minute talk by Sendhil Ramamurthy and David Anders plus any other main cast Heroes guests who might be announced and attending that day of the show (all guests subject to work committments)

2 exclusive badges

a free Heroes t-shirt

Seating at the talk will be limited to a maximum of 500 people. Seating will be on ticket number, so first to buy will be first into the talks area. Gold passes will have reserved seating and do not need to purchase a ticket. Tickets for this talk are on sale now in the online shop .

Can anyone comment on the reason why talks at LFCC have gone from being free to costing £15? I always understood that talks at Collectormania MK were charged due to SM having to cover the cost of a venue but why charge at Earl's Court if we already have to pay an entry cost. The cynic in me leads me to think that because Heroes guests have been hugely successful for SM in the past, this seems like another opportunity to make a bit more money.

I don’t mean to come across as negative but I have been attending these events for over 4 years and have noted how the prices have been steadily going up what with the introduction of photo shoots as opposed to free photos over the table and the vast rise in ticket cost between the Eclipse con to Eclipse 2.

The t-shirt may have something to do with it, I'm sure thats not the only reason though. T-shirts at these events usually cost about £20 anyway.

There have been talks you had to pay for before at LFACC if I remember correctly. I am sure there was at least one - I specifically remember the Aliens-Talk with Michael Biehn at LFACC2.

The only question I have is what is the largest the T-shirts go up in, I don't want to give my exact size away but lets just say that XL is far too small for me these days, if I'm spending £15 on a talk and T-shirt, I want a shirt that fits.

hi Evil_Faith

i would just like to comment on the "prices have been steadily going up" the price of all our signing events have been the same price sins they started, they have never gone up event though the the halls, ads, guests and flights have all gone up so i do fine this unfair

as to photo shoots this is something people asked for and we provided if we had our way we would allow guests to have photos on the table as well as the photo shoots and i would like to point out that most of the guests still do

but one thing people do not know is that some of the bigger named guests do not want photos taken of them and us telling there agents that they will be paid for them helps us to get them to take part in them, the other option is the guest just dose not allow any photos at all, so its not down to us most of the time its down to the guests and there agent

as to Eclipse con to Eclipse 2. we wanted to put more into this event and as such we had to put the costs up so we could do this, we also had a lot of main cast guests at the last event and the cost went over budget so if we wanted to keep giving away 8 x 10s to every one and free stuff we had to cover owe costs

we do not put up cost on cons to make us rich we do it to cover costs

i will also point out that heroes is hugely successful and there for the guests do cost more and its not us going for the "opportunity to make a bit more money" which i do find very negative

well thats my thoughts

now for the main point

we wanted to try something new its not just a talk there is more value there than just that, if its not for you then fine, there will still be plenty of free talks as normal

hope you can see were we are coming form

Hi Jason,

Thank you for your prompt response and I take all your comments on board. I honestly meant no disrespect with my post and my reaction was probably somewhat based on my memories of the hectic day I spent at the last LFCC.

I have always been extremely impressed with the quality of guests that have appeared at your events and the lineup for this LFCC is proving to be one of the best yet, which I look forward to attending.

I'd say no, based on the 'main cast' thing they said .. plus as there's gonna be more talks, I'd assume if he were to do one he'd be better off doing a solo one :P

Of course they may say differently ..

Yes Malcolm will no doubt be too busy, and after reading a previous post mentioning 8x10s, t shirts and badges. I fully insist that these kinds of free items be provided at LFCC. I dont mind paying an extra couple of quid and im sure others wont mind either to cover the cost involved. Speaking of Malcolm, there could be a theme. We could maybe have a logo of him on the shirt. I know Clockwork Orange was a theme last year, perhaps we could do Caligula this year. The badges could be of the Caligula 'coin' We could have the assistants dressed in Roman attire. It would be a huge hit. I really believe theres gonna be a huge demand for this kind of thing.

And anyone who agrees with me on these items being provided and helping to provide them feel free to post your ideas in here :D

Oh and another (really stupid probably...) question. I actually only wanted to go to the show on Sunday, but obviously am interested in going Saturday now as well. Is the talk in the same area as the other things? So do I need to buy entrance to the con as well as to the talk area if I'll only go see this talk on Saturday? Thanks :)

Yes, you will need an entry ticket for the event as well for Saturday, even if you are only going to see the talk.

The talk area was in Earls Court 2 near the entrance 2 years ago. But you wouldn't get through the main entry door without an entry ticket. :D

Yeah I hope they go up soon. I can't wait. I was worried about not getting in to see David and Sendhil's talk so I think it's a good idea to sell tickets. I don't mind paying £15. Well it'll be £30 because I'm dragging my best mate along.
