Zaigor
I have booked at a B&B on the Shepherd's Bush Road. There are a few options on that road and it's fairly close to Olympia. Prices for them tend to be about £50-£60 per night and if you have to use public transport it's a two bus journey of about 10 mins on each bus. mark worton
Don't if anyone is interested but on booking.com there's a very good offer on the ibis earls court today for the weekend of the show
RomeroSavini
Hotel 65 I booked finally which is round the corner from the Olympia (I always end up on the sane street!) :-) at 50 quid a night with breakfast. Not too bad, would like cheaper - but bloomin prices are so much higher than even 2 years ago haha
RomeroSavini
Yup considerably sadly. The days of £20 hotels are gone for me haha No way I will go near a hostel.....
minchb
After seeing the prices... I suppose that's one good thing about living in London 😮
Dreamsphere
Yup considerably sadly. The days of £20 hotels are gone for me haha No way I will go near a hostel..... Stayed in a hostel once in london when i was 17, it genuinely creeped me out because anyone could book the extra two beds in the room (we had two bunk beds) at any time of our two night stay. the door also didn't have a lock. the only saving grace for me was we had our own bathroom which apparently was rare as there were only two sharing rooms that had one. luckily no one came into our room the entire time were there but i couldn't really relax for the worry of it. the hostel was open 24 hours so anyone could book the beds at any time, we could go to sleep just me and my buddy and wake up with strangers in the room. nah like lol
RomeroSavini
Sounds grim beyond words haha The amazing thing for me is some hostels cost more than your own private room in a nice hotel a lot of the time haha Edited January 27, 2017 by RomeroSavini
john1980
The hotel I was in last year is the worst I would go to. But it was cheap and near the venue so i sucked it up
Dreamsphere
I am quite picky on my hotels, if the place looks a dive from pics online and street view, I wont go near it. The worst I would do is a hotel with a private bedroom and a shared bathroom, having to suck that one up the night before traveling to Belgium in June as I cant be assed with getting to London for 6am from where I am on the day. Yay for stupidly early eurostar departures I wont go near hostels either, way too risky a choice. Especially when buying valuable stuff Some times I see hotels and guesthouses on sites and the majority of pics and reviews are from serious nitpickers who went out of their way to find bad things about the hotel. every time iv'e stayed in a "bad" hotel i had a lovely time. the first time i ever had an issue was last year but thats because their was a mess up with the beds and we didn't have twin beds but one big double bed, so me and my friend had to share a bed. this hotel we stayed in had reviews saying filthy rooms, dirty sheets, dangerous non disabled accessible rooms/bathrooms and very very rude staff. the room was basic yes and i didnt dare touch the cups to make tea or eat the breakfast cause the food was put out the night before, but other then that it was tidy, a good sized bathroom and nice enough staff. maybe we just got lucky this time lol. TerraHawk
Hotel 65 I booked finally which is round the corner from the Olympia (I always end up on the sane street!) :-) at 50 quid a night with breakfast. Not too bad, would like cheaper - but bloomin prices are so much higher than even 2 years ago haha £35 a night when I booked there hotels have realized that this is a thing now and are jacking the prices up I think the cheaper places went for the Olympics and never went back down again. Strange that. I don't think they are more that weekend in particular; they just sell out quicker. And it is the Summer Holiday. Earlier in the month had less demand. Yup considerably sadly. The days of £20 hotels are gone for me haha No way I will go near a hostel..... I don't like doing odd nights in hostels as there's no point meeting people and being gone the next morning. But if its that or spend 5x as much I can live with it. London Hostels are overpriced for what they offer though - both times I went to Hollywood I spent two weeks in nice Hostels for about $10 a night. Made the trips affordable.
RomeroSavini
I would rather potter about in a casino than use a hostel :-D Free, water, tv's and comfy seats. Saves me a fortune staying in casinos all night once in a while, no betting and trying to stay awake can be hard haha Megabus return to London, Glasgow, Manchester etc.. for £2 and staying in a casino all night. One hell of a cheap trip :-D I do it at least once a year.
Namine
Hope that Hilton Olympia goes down in price soon...I really fancy changing my mind over staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Hammersmith lol Edited February 5, 2017 by Namine
