jdthur
My lovely wife has just decided to book us tickets at the convention, never having been to one of these before whats the etiquette on autographs, can you bring your own things for them to sign or do they only sign sanctioned materials? Moderators DavidB Posted June 14, 2012 Moderators Share Posted June 14, 2012 Pretty much anything goes. There's no 'official items only' rule, but a guest does reserve the right to refuse something specific if they so wish.
jdthur
OK ... well obviously the holy grail for me is to get my DVD boxes signed, Firefly being the biggie. Any advice though seeing as most Sci-Fi DVD boxes seem to be predominately black
Moderators etmuse Posted June 14, 2012 Moderators Share Posted June 14, 2012 The guests will have silver pens that usually work okay on most black backgrounds.
dragonsanddaffodils
they will have silver sharpies there, but if you want a fine liner sharpie, or gold, then it is sometimes best to bring your own if you want something specific. They will have silver anyway though That shows up nicely on black
KingRichard76
Silver is going to be used four times on my X-Files DVD Boxset. :) I hope you have a Fantastic time Jdthur, your wife sounds like a very nice and supportive lady to do this for you. :)
jdthur
Yeah she decided we needed cheering up, shes got me thinking about playing autograph bingo with my DVD collection now. It transpires shes got gold tickets too .... going to work out what that entails. Something along the lines of front seats and no virtual tickets for autographs as well iirc? Yes, seats in the front few rows for all talks, priority queuing for photoshoots, and you can join the end of any autograph queue. You also get a pack of pre-signed autographs and access to a quiet room to sit down and chill out during the day. Grimjacq
Welcome to the forums jdthur you and your wife are going to have a great time! Just one tip, as you say you are new to this - wear comfortable shoes!

Queen_Sindel
Do you want to get autographs only or will you possibly having some photoshoots too?
Wondermoose
A good tip when approaching a guest, if you cant think of anything to say, just smile and say, "Hello, how are doing" :) Sometimes you dont get more time than that but its something. jdthur
Do you want to get autographs only or will you possibly having some photoshoots too? Just autographs I think .... with gold tickets I can just rock on up to the queue can't I? Should make things a little simpler
Moderators etmuse Posted June 14, 2012 Moderators Share Posted June 14, 2012 Yes, with a gold ticket you can just join the back of the queue at any point. If, when the schedule is announced, there are any talks you would like to go to, take a note of the times and you can fit your autographs around that. jdthur
Most of the talks I think ... first time in I'd like to experience everything :)
KingRichard76
Comfortable shoes as already pointed out is a must. Something to drink is good as is something with some kind of high energy or protein to it to give you energy. :)
Coles84
I take it a significant amount of people more turn up to LFCC than collectormania by the sounds?
