sazzra
I think The Prisoner was the first 'surreal' series I ever saw, giving me a taste for long beaches and weird clothes that has stayed with me ever since. RIP Patrick

ukinvestigator
R.I.P Patrick McGoohan - you will be sadly missed. I will always watch the Prisoner with the greatest respect for his performance (both on and off screen during the show). I hope the new series will be a credit to the original show. Be Seeing You. Zagreus
The Prisoner introduced me to Patrick McGoohan's acting and creative talents, which then led me to watch Danger Man, which is just as good a programme and even better than 007. I'm glad he turned down the role of James Bond as John Drake (Danger Man) is a much cooler customer. His Columbo roles opposite his good friend Peter Falk were wonderful and all his other film roles were equally outstanding. It's one actor I have always REALLY wanted to meet, and it's a real shame I didn't get the chance, but I am glad he had such a long and interesting life that gave us so much TV entertainment. I think he was born in America Ciaran Although Patrick McGoohan was born in America, he was widely regarded as a British actor. It's a bit like Bob Hope, he was born in England but was always regarded as an American actor/comedian.
