Guest WaterBoy Posted July 9, 2006 Share Posted July 9, 2006 The crew party.....that was about a week ago wasn't it !?!? Think so, dealing with the PCB has kinda fried my grey matter just a little. Oh, I remember. This was the party that SM threw for their hardworking Crew (and the rest of us) at Po Na Na in London. I bought and wore a really mad shirt for it. The venue was fairly easy to find on foot, though if a party was to be held their again, I would suggest that the lads walk and put some folding stuff towards getting a fleet of taxis for the laydees. Though not an expert in that kind of thing, I think that their choice of footwear was more suitable for drinking and chatting, rather than walking. I really liked the venue on walking in. The website for the bar was right, it is full of little niches for sitting and chatting. The bar prices were great and the service was fine. Initially the music was not great, but the DJ was one of the best I have heard. He knew how to put together a great set, and reminded me very much of the Pete Tong show on R1. The guy on bongos was a superb addition and really brought out the base in the set and really added to the atmosphere. It was really nice of Stuart and Davey to come along. Stuart did not appear to be too happy, but I am not sure whether that was because he was very tired (he has been working very hard) or that he was missing Dr Who. The pressie from SM is greatly appreciated....maybe we need to start a fav photo thread on the crew forum? At about 2330 ish I decided to head back. After asking whether anyone wanted an escort back, I headed back on my own, a walk of about 15 minutes. Some may view that as a little stoopid, but I kinda enjoying doing that level of mad thing. Even wearing THAT shirt, I own the night. Unfortunately some Crew left early and some did not come along at all, and this was a shame as with all parties at cons, it is a case of the more the merrier. In summary; Did I have a great time - yup Does Idris spin a great yarn - too right Would I go again to the venue - yes, provided there is a DJ playing. You must have passed the DJ on you way out of the door! You did not get a copy of the photo CD? But the pics are really good. And there is a really good one of me which is not of me, but if you look really carefully you can see me, doing stuff, that you cannot see if you do not have a copy of the CD. I saw it, it was in your hand I wasn't too keen with the venue, like Jola I didn't like the no windows factor, the air con was cranked up so high I was chilly and well the less said about the two drinks for £8 the better.
