  1. Saw Eclipse at midnight on Fri/Sat and again last night. I LOVED IT Eclipse is my least favorite of the books. Although I'm not sure why as there are so many individual bits that I love about it but i don't love it overall. But this I'm going to say is my favorite film so far. I felt that it remained much closer to than book than the others, with more direct quotes. There are a couple of scenes that I would have liked to have seen that weren't there and others I would have liked extended. But overall I thought it was pretty awesome, and very funny. Hope that hasn't spoiled it for anyone! Now hoping I can get a sitter for next week so hubby can come and watch it with me!
  2. Haha, it looks like I'm on my lonesome for the 00.01am screening at Odeon Maidstone! lol Although my 18yr old nephew who claims he dislikes Twilight with a vengance will be there, as he was with New Moon!! Can we say denial! lmao. Have fun, I'm just hoping I don't fall asleep. :)
  3. I got the in The Works and they do paperbacks at £1.99 each or 3 for £5.00. I brought all my Morganville Vampire book from there too. Only thing is that you can't guarantee that the will have all the book in correct order etc. And often each store stocks different stuff as it's not actually a proper book shop. But if there is one near you defiantly check it out, I buy loads of mine and my daughters books from there.
  4. Someone actually recommended the Black Dagger Brotherhood to me back at ET3 in Feb. I brought them as I found the at 3 for £5 - bargain. Just haven't read them yet. Just finished Bree Tanner a couple of nights ago and enjoyed it. Was good to look at the fight etc from a different perspective. Just started the first HoN book, but struggling to get into. Well done you with not reading Breaking Dawn yet! I read all 4 Twilight books in less than a week and I had just had my son at the time! Not long to go.
  5. So, I'm now on a short break from reading. Don't think my brain can take anymore at the moment with the rate I have been going through books! But have a large stack waiting to be read when I return to it. On the whole children's book debate. I'm 25, married and have 2 children. Apart from Harry Potter, Twilight was the first books of this genre I had read. I was always used to reading crime stuff and typical chick lit stuff. So when I read it any enjoyed it so much I decided to broaden my reading. And I can honestly say that I have enjoyed everything that I have read children's or not. Also it's a case of finding things in this genre aimed at Adults that is as enjoyable. What I would also say is that some of the subject matter in these children's books, is not necessarily appropriate for younger children (just my opinion) I met an 11 yr old the other day who had read some of the same books as I have and I don't think that I would want my daughter reading them at that age. But maybe that's because my daughter is only 4!! I also did A level English Lang & Lit, where we read Alice in Wonderland - a classic children's book. Some books are timeless classics and I would like to be able to share some of my favorites with my daughter when she's old enough. All I'm saying is that people read different things for different reasons and just because something is written for children doesn't make the writing quality and worse. The book can be just as good. Thanks for everyone's suggestions on books. At the moment I have the P.C Cast Divine books and the Black Dagger Brotherhood books awaiting my attention. Will let you know what I think when I've read them.
  6. So far this week I've read - Hush,Hush, which I have to say was amazing and Vampire Academy. That came free when I order the Bree Tanner book. And I'm surprised to say that I really enjoyed it - and am of into town in the morning to get the remaining books! How bad is that?
  7. Hey, up until I read this thread the only thing other than chick lit and James Patterson that I had read was Twilight. I have now read - Mortal Instruments, Love it! Vampire Diaries, although I actually like the TV series better than the books tbh. Fallen, which I really enjoyed and can't wait for the next one Weather warden series - not vamps but would recommend Have just brought 5 P.C Cast books - Goddess of Partholon books, so they are my next ones. I have just finished all 8 of the Morganville Vampires in 9 days! I love them, absolutely amazing. Next on my list is Hush, Hush to order and then the new Stephanie Meyer on Saturday! Jenny - You asked about Shiver. I've got it and have started it, but I really can't get into it. Although people have said really good things about it, so I will try again, but not at the moment. :)
  8. Hey, Loads of recommendations on here that I will be checking out! I've brought so many books so far this, with what I already had I could start my own library! I've recently read all of The Vampire Diaries, wasn't that impressed, I've tried to read Shiver although I still can't get into it at the moment. Have just finished reading the Succubus series by Richelle Mead, which I really enjoyed, but would recommend for older readers for obvious reasons!! I'm also reall the Weather Warden series at the moment which is by Rachel Caine (Morganville Vampires - which are awaiting my attention!) and I'm loving them. Night World series are pretty good and I LOVED The Mortal Instuments. Thinks that's everything! Thanks for everyone's recommendations!

I have a standard ticket and I wondered what everyone else will be doing between the end of the opening ceremony and the start of the party? I'm not staying at the Hilton, so don't want to go bk to the hotel and get changed and come bk etc, but also don't want to sit on my own like a loner! lol Just wondered what everyone else is doing. See you all tomorrow! :)

  13. Hey, Is everyone wearing short dressed or is anyone wearing a long one? I got a beautiful dress from monsoon in the sales and am dying for an excuse to wear it. Its floor length with a V neck at the front and back, sleeveless and it's black with gold like spots on it. But don't want to look out of place if everyone else is wearing a shorter dress. Thanks
  14. Actually I do need one. Only because I have watched my so many times that it now skips, whoops! Thanks
  15. My hubby and 2 kids will be coming to Birmingham with me, but i'm going to ET3 on my own. Although I'm sure my daughter - who will be for on the 22nd feb! - would be loving it, especially if she got to dress up and have her picture taken! lol

  17. Hey, I've never been before either and I'm not staying at the Hilton. I'm staying at the Express by Holiday Inn, doesn't look too far away.
  18. Hey - I'm going for the first time too. I'm also a little worried but am so excited and everyone really puts your mind at rest about what to expect etc. I'm sure its gonna be great!
  19. Hey have had a look at this sellers stuff it all looks really good. Plus some of the stuff means I can re-use the hoops I brought for my wedding dress (and my husband said I would never use it again?! ). I can't help but giggle when I think of getting in a taxi from my hotel to the hilton wearing a dress like one of these! They are gonna think I'm mad. lol So excited
  20. I've only been to EC for LFCC and then to Olympia 2 this time. Out of the 2 I much preferred Olympia 2. It has so much more atmosphere and it was bigger. Plus it's great to have it back in London again next year.
  21. LMAO - this is so funny! You know we're all gonna end up watching it in 3D!
  22. I read this article a couple of days ago. My pop saved it for me as he knew I had gone to it. I think that as people have said before with these things you either get it or you don't, simple as. This guy seems like he never really wanted to go anyway. I went to LFCC in July with my brother which was the first con I have ever been to. I imagined it to be something completely different to what it was. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it etc. But I loved every single moment of it as did my brother who had also never been to a con before. As such I have been to CM and am off the ET3 in Feb. Am also hoping to do CM-MK, LFCC and ET4 next year. At CM I took my mum with me as I have no-one to go with, and this really isn't her kind of thing, but she loved it. It just goes to show it you can go into something with an open mind you never know what you'll get out of it. I have discovered something I would never have imagine I would enjoyed, I can't wait to do more and meet new people. So thanks showmasters! As for this guy - he's just not worth it. We all know why we go and that we enjoy it and that's the most important thing.
  23. Thanks Ruthy, that's really helpful. Everyone has been really helpful. I am so excited and can hardly wait. I'm still a little nervous but can't wait to meet new people. It will be great to meet you all.
