  1. You're Welcome. I waited a while to talk to Phil (who kindly wasn't offended when I told him that he had written my least favourite scene of Torchwood ever) and noticed that she had come over not long after me, but there was a large crowd by the time I had finished chatting with him so wanted to make sure she got a chance. She came up to me the next day and thanked me too. Torchwood fans are so polite! I had a fantastic time at the weekend! The guests were great and entertaining as usual! The parties were brilliant fun too an so much work went into them. I too approve of the new bag system, especially as I had autos an photos back to back for most of Saturday morning an it was brilliant to not have to run madly back an forth to drop bags off all the time. I don't really have any complaints. I would maybe have liked there to have been more torchwood related questions in the panels. I know the questions are submitted by fans, but what's your favourite film etc questions aren't very interesting. Also, asking the same questions but to different guests at different panels was also a little tiresome. Having 6 different people tell us how they got into torchwood (they auditioned) was hardly earth shattering and was time that could have been used to ask more in depth questions. Regarding children at the hub - I don't think its fair to decide what environment is suitable for a child unless you are that child's parent. If an event is all ages then it is up for the parent to decide whether their child will be safe and comfortable there. The children at the event were a lot better behaved than some of the adults. Also - many thanks to the dj at the Sunday night party. A few of us wanted to hear some John Barrowman stuff and though he didnt have it he let me stick my ipod on. It was a great night to top off a fabulous weekend and I cant wait to do it all again in October!
  2. Don't worry about it being your first major con. The first hub was my first weekend event and I met some lovely people who I've kept in touch with since! You'll have a fabulous time!
  3. I cant imagine this getting played at a con, but it is one of my all time favourite songs. Makes me grin like an idiot and feel like a kid again when I hear it. Its probably because I'm 26 too! Its of our childhood.
  4. Oh,just three? James Moran Murray Melvin Caroline Chikeze/Indira Varma
  5. I second that. James Moran would be a great guest and would probably be really up for it.
  6. Yes. Jesters are fine for me, Clowns are not. I had a sort of "if you cant beat them join them" attitude and thought of going as a clown since they terrify me but even looking at costumes online made me feel sick. I'm not getting a costume for the saturday as I'm worried I'm going to have to leave the party in sheer terror!
  7. I agree, its leaving it really late for people who want to dress up for the parties. Part of what made the last parties so great was that almost everyone made an effort to take part in the themes and it looked awesome. I think it wont be the same this year as people will be under more pressure to find outfits at short notice.
  8. Not a worry! I'm getting a lift down now but before I was sure of the lift I was comparing all the options for getting down. Its a lot more expensive now that it was in October!
  9. There seem to be no £23 singles left on the Monday now. If you put in Glasgow to northampton leaving on March 13th after 7am and returning march 16th leaving after 7am you will get options for a £23 single at 8am on the friday with one change and the cheapest is at just before 8am on the Monday at £34.50 which is £57.0 return. Thats on both thetrainline.com and virigintrains.com. Hope this helps!
  10. Is that on the virgn website or thetrainline.com? I was looking at getting the sleeper train and then all singles and its worked out same price but if we can get a train straight there that would be good. On either. I checked both of those and the national rail inquiries site and£46 was the best return price. YOu need to get the train at about 8am on the friday and the monday though.
  11. YOu can get a return on virgin trains now for £46 from Glasgow to Northampton.
  12. Umm... roughly speaking, the return flight cost around £60, and the return coach to/from Luton-Nothhampton cost around £20. So that's roughly £80 travel. Cheaper and faster than any of the trains I managed to suss anyway! X) I managed to get a return for about £37 by train last time. Takes longer but was the cheapest method I found of doing it. You can't book trains more that about 12 weeks in advance so start looking at the end of december for good deals! Hey I was woundering how close to the Hub you booked your train tickets? Ive been looking at Virgin and other train/Bus and some are more exspensive than flying down. About 12 weeks. its worth booking the trip in stages as it can work out a lot cheaper than buying a straight ticket, even though sometimes you can stay on the same train and dont need to switch at all! I've not even started looking for travel to the hub. I'll wait til I get panto season out the way first!
  13. I'll chat to anyone who will listen really! The best thing about the hub was the people I met there!
  14. Happy Holidays! Hope you all have lots of fun with all the people you want to have fun with!
  15. Here are a few pics from Saturday. It was my first time at collectormania and I had a lovely day (even though mini Vader was driving me mad by the end of it!). A big thanks to everyone who was so awesome posing with the kids (my son and my friend's daughter) who had a tendency to be a little over excited. They kept going up to Abe then running away screaming!
  16. I am terrified of clowns also but its unfair to pick a theme and then put restrictions on it. it would be impossible to take into account everyone's phobias/
  17. Wow and to think I'll be dreading travelling down from Scotland! What dedication you fans in the US have!
  18. I am a happy lass at the minute! Love love love Eve! Thanks guys!
  19. 1. Name: Shar 2. Age: 25 3. Location: Glasgow 4. Ticket Type: Silver 5. Reason for going: Loved the Hub and met so many great people there that I know the hub two will be awesome! Love Gareth, Kai and Tom Price too so the guest list already looks great!
  20. Genius, a friday the 13th Spooky Do!!!! With Tom Price as guest of honour!
  21. Indira Varma would be a good guest, Paul Chequer who played Eugene, Bryan Dick, Alan Dale, Nerys Hughes, Ruth Jones would all be awesome guests. Would maybe be interesting to have some writers there to shake things up a bit.
  22. Yeah, going a couple of times. Not too bad really as i have a friend who stays nearby that I can crash with. Come the hub 2 though I'm going to be so sick of trains! Next month will be the only one where I've not left Glasgow in far too long!
