  1. Sad....I'd always hoped to make it over to the UK for one more Hub convention. I attended 2 & 3, they were the catalyst for me achieving one of my dreams of visiting England, and made friends and had a blast with my fellow fans. I wish I could be there for the farewell, but i'll be thinking of you all.
  2. Mel and I should be in about 1-2pm.....taking train up from Robertsbridge.
  3. If we were taking the train at the same time, you'd be welcome to join us. Our train out of Euston isn't until 12:23.

    Advice

She's not kidding....she doesn't go anywhere or do anything unless she's put together just right.
  5. If I lived in England, I'd love to do this. You should do conventions in the US, theres a huge market for them.
  6. That movie was a train wreck. I watched it with mounting horror the farther it went along. They should have just left out the DragonBall element and called it something else. And JM looked NOTHING like Piccolo.
  7. Woo, I've got my fingers crossed and like you, mentioned him in email a while ago too. :D LOL...I havent emailed Showmasters. It was an email to Burn about the charity auction thru the site, I added the mention on at the end of it.
  8. I let him know in the last email sent that people wanted to see him back. So it's wait and see right now.

  10. Thanks for answering. Personally, I do hope they manage to get some more guests (especially Naoko or Burn) but yeah, if they don't there's still a great line-up. I'm sure they'll manage to get at least one replacement, fingers crossed. I think it's been said previously that Burn is busy on this weekend so my vote is for Naoko! Actually, he's not. He's taking a break and spending time with his family. But you never know.... And I have to say something to the people all demanding they be refunded. I've worked for a major US convention for 6 years. Guests, when booked, always have a clause in their contract that states they can cancel because of work or an emergency. But when that happens, you don't get a refund of part of your convention ticket because they aren't attending. And this WAS NOT a John Barrowman convention, this is a TORCHWOOD convention. Yes, he was front and center of advertising, because at the time HE WAS slated to be there. He's had to cancel due to work commitments. That doesn't mean you get a refund. You should NEVER attend a convention (unless its an event slated to be SPECIFICALLY around one person) just because one guest is booked to come. There is always a chance they will cancel.
  11. You are such a Debbie Downer half the time. Relax, does it really bother you that much that people are asking for roomies? I see the point in people asking in seperate threads. People might not be likely to look in other threads for more people looking for room shares if the original poster has already found someone, even if there are new posts.
  12. I thought the pink monster was really cute tho (Muppets ref) OMG>...that skit from the muppet show gave me nightmares as a child.
  13. I'll have to ask Mel where she booked our tickets through, but we're coming up from Robertsbridge, changing trains in London, and she got the tickets pretty cheap.
  14. Better too big than too small! Too true....I've fixed it now. Feeling very accomplished. It was my first time making a dress from a pattern and sewn by hand. Literally by hand. I broke the sewing machine on the first seam......don't ask.
  15. Finished the initial sewing on my Queen of Hearts dress.....and somehow made it 2 sizes too big and about a foot too long. Not quite sure how that happened. LOL Easily fixable though with a few nips and tucks and cutting a boatload of fabric off the bottom. :)
