  1. OK, we won't panic...just don't forget your towel.
  2. I'm only in Liverpool, a 45 minute train ride away so I'll certainly be going. Hopefully, I'll be on the crew as usual - even if not, I'm there!
  3. I'm going to step in for one of my best friends who's an absolute slave for this guy - I'm surprised she hasn't answered but she's a busy person so this is on behalf of Proby's Girl............ WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Plus I'm looking forward to meeting him - I'm no Stargate fan but I have it from reliable sources that he's a great guy. Looking forward to it
  4. I have to admit, I've only ever seen him in in Sin City - he truly made my skin crawl during Sin City, and it's difficult to make me feel uncomfortable or emotional during films. He definitely deserves some attention if he can do that!
  5. Don't you mean we feel like death after a day on the crew? Serenity and peace? At a Showmaster's convention? Don't be daft! Heh heh, only kidding - we love what we do

    Crewing e-mails

Hope you got my response - just got back from my holiday 10 mins ago so if it didn't arrive, the computer needs a severe kicking!
  7. Hope you got the reply - if not, I've got the well trained boyfriend to resend it if needed
  8. I've sent the email back Stuart - if you could let me know if you get it? Cheers!
  9. Even if you weren't asked to crew last time, you should have gotten an e-mail this time round. Either you were sent one and it bounced for some reason, or else your e-mail address has somehow been missed from the list I've compiled. Either way, e-mail me at the crew address, and I will send you a crewing form asap. You can have it today to fill out (shouldn't take long), or else get someone else to fill it for you if absolutely necessary. 846442[/snapback] Have done - thanks matey
  10. They did pay Thursdays for C5 and C6 as that's when most of us had to arrive.... of I could just be going mad, which is more likely lol.
  11. Didn't get one Stuart - might be cos I wasn't asked to crew last time round. Slight problemo though - if I am sent one, I can't get it back to you on time as I go away tomorrow to Corfu for a week and won't be home until the 26th!!! I could get someone else to fill it in for me, if that's OK?
  12. And one less person to be poked Poor Troy, looks like he's getting poked by everyone
  13. I think we'd all love to crew, considering it'll be a heck of a lot quieter and less manic than a normal SM's event...the crew won't be in gibbering wrecks in a corner somewhere at the end of the weekend like we normally are
  14. I've met him and whilst I don't agree that Collectormania or LFACC (Depending on how many screaming fangirls are there) are the best places to meet him, an event like Autographica is a little too select, I'm thinking. Yes, he's had a long career and I'd love to meet him again but most of his fans are at an age where they simply cannot afford to pay the amount of money that event requires, which means there wouldn't be an awful lot of people there to see him. Also, he'd seem a little overshadowed and out of place by a couple of moonwalkers and a more 'vintage' (Pardon the term, I don't mean it rudely) selection of artists.
  15. My boyfriend would love the Undertaker to go....don't think that's highly feasible though, sadly.
  16. Starts on E4 on 10th August. Sounds like it's going to be like Lord of The Flies...anyone whose already seen it, am I right in thinking this? Hell, I'll be watching it anyway with Dominic Monaghan it it
  17. Working? In LA? Don't be daft lol only kidding luv - but yes, even if Showmasters hadn't have stated they would not be dealing with him again, I think they'd rather use the money towards a more reliable guest or other cause at the conventions.
  18. Ben Folds, Ben Folds Five, Queen, Meatloaf, ELO, Enya, whatever movie soundtrack comes to hand....usually Ben Folds though
  19. Your ankle is always damaged by the end of the event and you always seems to be in considerable pain by the end of the event..I think it's wise you rest up for an event, you run around far too much hun. Hope it recovers speedily though
  20. They were fantastic for crowd control, as a crew member - would love to see them back again, even if just just for sheer comedy value
  21. It's gutting, I know, but he must cost a small country to hire...it's a lot of money t risk when it could be going into another area of the convention or another guest. Think SM's have made a wise decision with that one.
  22. You can't help where your opinion falls :) Best to mail it directly to him, it could get easily lost on here.
  23. Thing is, is you offer a chair for people to sit down in, unless they REALLY need it because they have difficulty standing or mobility issues, some people will sit down and never leave....it's hard enough keeping queues moving, I don't think it'd be too practical. Fair enough, if you've been on your feet for ages, you'll need a lengthy sit down afterwards but it's really not practical.
  24. Boyfriend's sister was round the corner from the bus when it exploded and was supposed to be on the train at Kings Cross but it was so packed, she couldn't get on. Always said she was lucky, maybe she'll believe me now. Had 2 friends who were evacuated from Birmingham yesterday...don't know what the hell is going on with this world....everyone OK in Birmingham too? Can appreciate you'd be pretty shook up to....take care everyone, always be grateful you're alive.
  25. I'm sure the same guy was infront of me at the Billy talk on Sunday too, with his kid - had to restrain myself from slapping him with a wet kipper (Not that I carry one round with me for that purpose... ahem!) ! It's not unusual to see people using their kids to get freebies or attention - only time I've come across it and it wasn't deliberate was at the last Collectormania - a small boy named Luke waited an age to meet Sean Astin with his dad and Sean was captivated by this kid, he absolutely loved him. The father didn't push the kid forward or try to get attention, his son was just naturally a lovely kid who caught Sean's eye. I'd rather see more of that than pushy parents using their kids as pawns...gets me so angry I've also had people who'll say they have a small child with mobility issues that they have to use a pram for so they ask to just jump the queue....usually doesn't work when I've seen them borrowing a pram (and someone elses kid) earlier on in the day whilst walking past one of the entrances after the crew meeting. The guards are actually really nice guys when you bump into them at the bar in the crew hotels etc - I remember being quite intimidated by the bald security guard that looks like the scary Italian referee at my first con when meeting Billy; got a bit of a shock when I first crewed and discovered he was a nice guy!
