  1. shop@showmastersevents.com but the office will be hectic getting ready for Sheffield this weekend so don't expect an imminent reply.
  2. They have Sheffield this weekend and Glasgow the weekend after that so they might be a little busy and take a bit longer than usual to reply.
  3. They did still seem to try to put them on, there was even one advertised for this September that just vanished for whatever reason like last year’s did. Hopefully they can get them going again as there has been some great cons and I have met many wonderful guests there, especially when it was a Collectormania and it had sports guests. A real shame.
  4. You could try contacting the shop as it is a clash between paid items (ie talk and photoshoot) but I wouldn’t think there’s much they can do now the event is over. Can’t hurt to try though.
  5. Firstly he's not expressing an opinion he was asking a question. He asked " why you have to pay upto £45 more just to have the privilege of being guaranteed an Autograph " People were just telling him the reason why. Secondly as PeterCapaldiFan has said Showmasters is a business. Business' offer services at a price. They offer you the option to pay extra to obtain another service i.e. priority queueing and guarantee of the auto. Being fair doesn't come into it. I can't afford a Mercedes but I'm not going to say it's not fair because other people can. Anyway we're getting into prices and things and this has been debated in the forum before I'm fairly sure this thread will get closed once mods see it as it is rehashing old ground.
  6. Nobody was forcing you to take the diamond pass. Many are happy to pay the extra for the guarantee (and priority queueing as well) especially if you have a lot of guests to see as it takes the stress out of the experience. Its not like it was a secret charge. If you disagree with the cost you are perfectly entitled to not buy it and take your chances. It's the way Showmasters do things and it works well. Also I have attended other events that operate a pre-purchase "guarantee" and ended up being refunded when they were unable to get round to us due to demand. Showmasters always get DP's through except in very rare occasions and circumstances.
  7. It is pretty fast. She had DP and (mistakenly on the part of the blue shirts) Gold passes without VQ's before she even got to real VQ's. If you are ever desperate it is always worth hanging on until the very end because most people with VQ's that high, that late on either won't bother going or give up. It could have easily gone from 300-500 in the remainjng time if the majority of the VQs between 300-500 have gone home.
  8. Yeah I prefer the LFCC way too but it’s not just Showmasters that run this con and different companies do things different ways. I can understand as the prints cost money and given how many people bring their own things for signing I can see how not having them for free would save on overheads. The prints are the same as you would expect if the guest was at LFCC so the selection will be fine. It does calm down after the morning rush so there is plenty of time to go back and forward if you decide to add a guest last minute. Just be aware that like LFCC the more popular prints can be sold out as the weekend goes on so don’t leave it too late to get them. Remember the dealer stalls too though.
  9. There is one big stall that sells all the pics for all the guests. It is usually quite near the auto area. The prices are very reasonable (about 3 8x10 for £5 if I remember correctly but don't quote me). They do sell other sizes too though and the price will vary for those. The dealers at the event are pretty savvy to this and there is usually quite a few offering "exclusive" prints and posters. You will be spoiled for choice As you can imagine this does get very busy first thing on all 3 days as people rush to these stalls after collecting VQs. You can always take your own prints with yiu to avoid this though. That's what we do.
  10. It’s one of these damned if you do damned if you don’t things. Like you say separate queues wouldn’t be fair on single day people but then the current system isn’t fair on 3 day people who have to queue longer waiting for people getting things scanned so which do they go for?
  11. My partner is but she’s a special kind of mental I thought she was unique but looks like you’re in the club too.
  12. The program at this years event said 24th-26th July however this was printed before SDCC was announced and that is happening the same weekend. In the past this has meant Showmasters have changed the dates of LFCC so we have been advised that at the moment they are in discussions with the Olympia. I expect they will announce it very soon.
  13. If she had an update she would have posted it. Remember the office is still busy and won’t get back to normal for a while yet as they have Sheffield this week and Glasgow the next so it might take them a while to get back to her.
  14. I love this pic. It’s brilliant. Bernard was just amazing wasn’t he!
  15. 5. Wait, why am I doing Nate's job?
  16. I’ve never had a notification. Maybe it’s my spam filter. The point is it always seems to take longer if the guest cancels nearer the con, office busy/empty more tickets sold etc. Like you say, don’t worry.
  17. It’s coming up to the weekend. As has been said above it will take time, but it’s impossible to say how long. I had 2 refunds last year from guests cancelling that close to the event. One came through in days one took over a week. You won’t get a notification from either Showmasters or Eventbrite, it just shows up in your account.
  18. I think it's a disgrace. I paid for my photo shoot it should be instantaneous. I demand Showmasters.....etc That's four
  19. Such a shame to hear your condition is preventing you from coming to the con for nowI hope you recover suitably soon enough to start attending and enjoying LFCC again. All my best wishes.
  20. It's amazing what you find when you get round to unpacking the last suitcase. How could she forget she got this signed? Hey @The Friendly Dalek turns out i do have a steel book after all
  21. Happy birthday for Saturday . The parade is definitely for you, don’t let anybody tell you any different!
  22. Taking a break before doing it all again (on a much smaller scale) at Glasgow in a couple of weeks.
  23. As I have said when this was discussed somewhere else, I don’t bother. Most of my friends/family would be happy to have an autograph/photo with a famous person but would never pay for them. I don’t do this to show off to other people or do the “look what I have” thing. It’s just for me so I’m happy keeping them and looking at all my albums of over 10 years worth of stuff every now and then and smiling at the memories. There are exceptions of course as when we were wee boys my cousin and I were daft on The Six Million Dollar Man so I did send my cousin a copy of the Lee Majors photoshoot.
  24. I think he meant he was on an open queue at that point ie everyone in it had no VQ’s but the queue had been closed (propbably for lunch) by the time he arrived so to come back at 2.
  25. They are Showmasters events and they each have their own forum. This is the LFCC forum. Click on upcoming events at the top of this page and that will take you to the list of all the forums for each individual event. You can post about each event in its specific forum, post guest suggestions etc.
