The new film this summer is the latest in one of the most popular film franchises ever. It's the most hyped movie this year! was just wondering im not an indiana jones fan so i didnt even no there was a new movie Are you sure you like films? Any films? nikstar1989
i love films, just not the kind of films YOU might like, i dont like sci - fi or action so thats probably why, that doesnt mean that i hate every guest SM gets, i just think there should be an equal mix thats all :)
nicky
Sorry, (and I know I'm asking for it here) but it's nothing to do with what films you prefer (or how old you are) - the new Indiana Jones film has been all over the news, internet and media (and Burger King even). I just find it astonishing, as I'm sure others will too, that you didn't know the movie was out just now unless you've lived under a rock or dont pay attention to the news or media. I just figured you're not into films or you chose to ignore the biggest movie event of the year. Did you know there are new Batman, Iron Man, Hulk or Sex & The City films out this summer? mightymax
They probably knew about Sex & The City film out of all them lol Sorry couldn't resist
nikstar1989
i wasnt aware that the movie was coming out in a few weeks i thought sometime later this year, david explained that it was coming out recently so i was fine with that, explains the high number of IJ guests, i know you have no interest in my tastes, by saying i dont like sci fi or action i was saying that i dont check to see when the latest movie is out and not that id prefer to see guests i want, like i said i was just enquiring into why there was loads of indiana jones guests :)
Zarina
What's with the personal attack? So what if someone isn't aware of the exact release date of the new Indy? I love the movies, including number 4, but just because someone hasn't paid attention to them doesn't allow you to mock them or generalise what movies they do like (Sex and the City in this case). nicky
*sigh* Right on cue. Why when I'm surprised at someone's awareness is it a "personal attack"? When did I even mention not knowing the "exact" release date of Indiana Jones (the biggest movie event in almost 10 yrs)? When did I even mock someone for liking Sex And The City or generalise what movies they do like? Totally fabricated exaggerations - why must people do that? Is this a The Sun newspaper now?? That's a lot of questions! OK, nikstar1989: No offence, I was just surprised at what you said about the new film esp as you're a film/tv fan and con-goer. Ididn't mean to hurt your feelings but I'm pretty sure you knew that anyway. Edited May 26, 2008 by nicky
Moderators DavidB Posted May 26, 2008 Moderators Share Posted May 26, 2008 Zarina didn't specifically quote anyone, so I'm pretty sure what she said wasn't suggested to be for one person only
dufresne
Indy 4 is massively advertised and massively important to pop culture - whether you like(d) the film(s) or not. I absolutely agree with Nicky - anyone using these boards has, by definition, at least a passing interest in pop culture and really should be aware that something so prominent at least exists. Is it true they made three new Star Wars films recently ?
SithLord
So what stunts did he do for ESB?
nikstar1989
i think its rude that most of you people think that because i go to conventions and use these boards that i must be a total geek and have nothing better to do with my life than look up the release date of films that i dont have an interest in watching, to you it may be the 'event of the year' but because i dont watch them kind of films or generally watch tv much [except for lost] i just didnt know. how stupid is it that people are dying in africa and you think its outragous that a fellow convention go'er doesnt know the release date of the new indiana jones movie! just trying to put things in perspective because to be honest this is getting pathetic
dufresne
Well if you want to maintain perspective, maybe remember that nobody expected you to know the release date, just that the film EXISTED !! And this would leave plenty of time for other stuff - hardly rendering you a geek !! And two people agreeing to disagree with you hardly makes it pathetic ! What a coincidence that Lost (in your avatar) is the only tv you watch, and you don't bother with many films. What do you get out of Collectormania then ?
