Guest TantalizingTwilightFan
I'm really regretting not buying more autograph/photo holders yesterday. I have years worth of photos that really need to be safe Does anyone have recommendations on where to get them? Thanks in advance! AllRedDan
The clear plastic holders? I heard they are not too good for autographs as over time the photos can stick with the plastic causing the auto to remove itself and stick to the plastic.
Guest TantalizingTwilightFan
Are they not acid free? I don't really need them for autographs, just photos, I usually get DVDs and stuff signed. What would you recommend for holding my photos
AdamsAdventures
I would not use the ones sold at the show they are only good for one thing and that's as a fan!! If it's that hard to get your photo in then it can't be storing it well. There are a few other threads with website links in for places/things to get. Tony1975
Do not get the hard plastic sleeves that are being sold at the stalls. The photos can stick to the plastic and if you have any signatures on them the ink can peel off.
Guest TantalizingTwilightFan
I brought a few just so I could get them home safely but I really need to get something more permanent. I've got years of photos that need to be kept nicely

Tony1975
I got myself acid free sleeves and acid free backing card and a nice ring binder Any recommendations on where to buy? I use Timecare collection. They have a good range of acid free stock. They aren't cheap though but if you want to keep your autographs in mint condition then I highly recommend them.

I haven't bought any myself as I'm only just getting to the last of my Ultra Pro pages but sometimes it's worth paying a little more for decent stuff - you don't want to pay a fortune in collecting your signatures and skimp on their storage.
Hoff85
You could also look at arrowfile who I've been buying my storeage solutions from.

They specialise in archival storage for things like photos, letters etc. They even do 8x10 acid free plastic pockets that fit in a ring binder. U1RiC
I was recommended a company called Secol. They aren't too expensive but certainly not cheap, they supply quite a lot of museums with their Polyester acid-free archival stuff. They have a wide selection of different pages, pockets, sleeves, top loaders etc as well as storage boxes. Like Raylenth said its not worth scrimping. girlingray
I agree with others here. The hard plastic sleeves available at the event can be used to store your autographs temporarily to get them safely home if you don't have a folder or similar with you - but the autograph ink sticks to the inside of the plastic (even after the ink is dry) and they ruined a couple of my autographs before I realised they were no good for long term storage. I get sleeves and albums directly from Arrowfile online. They're not particularly cheap, but I've used them for years now with no more damaged autographs. They sell different sizes of sleeves - including the size for the photo op prints. They often have free postage and packing weekends, so it's worth getting on their mailing list to find out about them.

Loxias
I've been looking at the Arrowfile ones, but can't work out what size to get for the autos and photoshoot photos. I used to get all mine from Frank's but never really took much noticed what size they were - can anyone confirm before I buy some that are not the right size - I don't really do all these measurements in mm!! If you used to use Frank's I'd suggest going to timecare http://www.timecare.co.uk/timecare/home.php These are the exact same ones Frank's used to sell as it's where they bought them from. It can be hard to find some things on the site but look at the bestsellers list at the bottom of the main page to find most of them. harbinger
Ah, I didn't realise the ones sold at the event were so bad for autographs. I bought a couple this year and last year, and did find it impossible to get the photographs inside. However, for some reason, when I got home, they went in no problem. Maybe it's to do with temperature? Either way, I'd like to get something that is definitely going to protect my autographs. The best ones I can seem to find for a reasonable price is this: http://www.arrowfile.com/arrowfile-10-x-8-(2)-clear-acid-free-pocket-refills-prodra9790c/?filter_name=8%20x%2010&page=2 But I like having my autographs on display, so the hard, stiff ones without binder holes are ideal for me. These Arrowfile ones are for folders and I'm guessing are thin, floppy as opposed to hard and stiff. Does anyone know where I can get ones the same as the ones sold at the event, but that are reliable and will protect?! Thanks in advance
Raylenth
I don't know of any rigid holders that would suffice. You can buy the pages and put the card backers you can buy for comics in as well to make them a bit more rigid.
Guest TantalizingTwilightFan
I'm going to take out every photo I own from it's holder tomorrow lol and start my hunt for good holders to care for my pics lol.
