LATEST GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT - CHRIS DURAND

Recommended Posts

It's the Olympia branch line.  The Station is Olympia.  If you look at the tube maps on the tfl site, look at Earls Court and you can see Olympia one stop above it on a restricted service branch line (It should b fine for Saturday, it doesn't run during the week)

Tbf, "mate" can be gender neutral, Miss Raylenth. We could call you "dude" if you want, a la Anthony Hopkins. ;)

Dooood. :P

Mate is generally a male salutation though, even if technically it is gender neutral.  Mind you there aren't many female alternatives that may not be sexist :D

so its kensington olympia i get of at then? lol

You get on the district line (green) at Victoria station, off at Earls Court and change to the overground if I'm reading the following map right to get off at Kensington Olympia, Charlie. (Yep, it gets a bit confusing sometimes, and I'm kinda new to it.

Not the overground.  The branch line to Olympia is still an underground train.  Overground generally refers to National Rail trains rather than the Tube.  Only clarifying as National Rail trains do go to Kensington Olympia from some stations so I wouldn't want you to ask where the Overground trains go from as I'd be afraid you might get sent to the wrong platform.  I think most District line trains stop on a platform near the one you need to K Olympia so when you get off just look/ask for the Olympia tube trains.

It's very confusing trying to find the Olympia platform if you get off the Piccadilly Line at Earls Court but that's not your problem ;)

This may not help you much but I'll post it anyway.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4921183,-0.193179,3a,75y,99.07h,90t/data=!3m8!1e1!3m6!1s-2uGv_bmaBik%2FV7BshQuKZ-I%2FAAAAAAAAyEE%2F5SIElfGVAGwlJP3iAO4-V2HkIj4PjghWgCJkC!2e4!3e11!6s%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2F-2uGv_bmaBik%2FV7BshQuKZ-I%2FAAAAAAAAyEE%2F5SIElfGVAGwlJP3iAO4-V2HkIj4PjghWgCJkC%2Fw203-h100-k-no-pi-0-ya81.6305-ro-0-fo100%2F!7i7168!8i3584

The platform you are looking at is the one the Olympia Train usually leaves from, if you scroll a little to the right so you can see the stairs down and departure boards you can see they are very old fashioned clapper board types but that both have Olympia on them.  Ignore the white sign in the middle that says take the first Wimbledon Train and change at Brompton.  don't get there, see that and panic.  The Olympia line doesn't run during the week (and if it's shut at the weekend for maintenance) so that's just there to tell you how to get there if the line is closed

You will be going the wrong way a bit if you go into Pennywern and it depends if you come out the front or back exit to Earls Court.  If you come out the back, the old venue side which is Warrick road you turn right and keep walking straight, over the big junction until you get to Kensington High Street and turn left and it's a short way up.  If you come out the front on to Earls Court Road, turn left and walk to the big junction, turn left onto West Cromwell Road and at the first junction turn right on to Warrick Road and follow the rest of the instructions as above.
