TurkFox
Talent Show! This year we are running a talent show on the second stage, Saturday at 4pm! You can sing, dance, do a skit, do stand-up, magic tricks or any other talent you may have (within reason, it's a family show and only a small stage ). The judges will be equipped with large crosses and, in the style of Britain's Got Talent, will hold up their cross signs if they don't like your act. Three crosses and you're out! The judges will give their comment on each act and at the end, they will announce the winner! Acts should last no longer than 3 minutes and if you want to use any music, please send it in advance. It would also help if you could register in advance (reply here or email showmasterscosplay@googlemail.com) but we'll still accept entries (but not music) on the day! If you think you've got talent - prove it! Edited July 4, 2010 by TurkFox
KingRichard76
Oooooh ooooh oh this is FAB! This is on the Saturday? Not the Sunday? Damn, okay I may not be able to get clearance in time for the pyros etc. Now I've got to figure out what to do, um, I can do impressions, sing (although the neighbours once called the R.S.P.C.A. on me because they thought I was strangling a Cat but I was actually singing in the shower) Act. Ventriloquism. Um, only two weeks okay I need to make a ton of plans. Edited July 3, 2010 by KingRichard76

bunny-summers
Don't know if want. Don't come to it then. I'm sure the rest of us will have fun I didn't mean that it wouldn't be good. Just seems a random thing to have but that is only my opinion.

The Dork Lord
I'm really tempted to enter this, maybe come up with some sci-fi and fandom related stand up.
SMASTER
Hmm... very tempted to do a Star Trek vs Star Wars double act with my friend... Only thing is I'm hardly going to see him before we actually go, so there won't be much time to work something out....
Tanith
As long as you have your own version of Simon Cowell its all good xD
KingRichard76
I know it says "provisionally on the timetable for 4pm on the Saturday." Does this mean that us on the Sunday wont be able to ply our talents? Not that there is much talent in simultaneously juggling a lit flamethrower and a sheep whilst unicycling. TurkFox
It's only on the Saturday - it's better to run a new event on the busier day so it has more chance of success.
KingRichard76
Bummer. Would have really have liked to have taken part, would have been cool to see others too
The Dork Lord
I just realised a little while ago that I'll have to leave LFCC a bit earlier than usual. Got to get back to Bristol in time for a party, so I probably won't be entering the talent show after all.
FreeSaiyan
Since it's a new event it's better to do it only on one day for the first time around. :) I know it says "provisionally on the timetable for 4pm on the Saturday." Does this mean that us on the Sunday wont be able to ply our talents? Not that there is much talent in simultaneously juggling a lit flamethrower and a sheep whilst unicycling. CurlyKirsty
Kirstin R would like to take part, singing a Paramour song, where should she send music? Does she need to bring it on the day as well?
TurkFox
It needs to be a backing track if she's singing (ie. no lead vocal), and it should be sent to the email address in the first post.

fontcroire
If you're doing a song does the music have to be backing track music and if yes, where do you find it? Edited July 8, 2010 by fontcroire
Moderators DavidB Posted July 8, 2010 Moderators Share Posted July 8, 2010 Judging by the reply on the last page, yes it needs to be a backing track. As to where you find it, I guess look around online or something. Depends what it is. Kareoke tracks etc.

TurkFox
If you don't have a backing track, you can sing without music. But no singing with the original track xD
