Moderators DavidB Posted September 29, 2009 Moderators Share Posted September 29, 2009 Primeval has been recommissioned for two series under a new co-production deal between ITV and UKTV. The arrangement, which also involves BBC America and German broadcaster Pro7, is for a seven-episode fourth series and a six-episode fifth. ITV1 will premiere series four in early 2011, while Watch will have the first run of series five later that year. ITV1 will then broadcast series five. Stars Andrew Lee Potts, Hannah Spearitt, Ben Miller and Jason Flemyng will all return for the new batch of episodes. "I am thrilled that ITV has agreed to this new deal, which will allow us to produce another 13 episodes of Primeval," said Tim Haines, creative director of Impossible Pictures. "The confidence demonstrated in the programme's continued success here and abroad will help us bring more big screen action and a whole host of new creatures roaring back into people's living rooms." The announcement comes three months after ITV axed the series. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/cult/a179623/p...two-series.html

timelord81r
i think this is a pretty silly show, the few occasions it held my interest it then got rid of that aspect a few eps later. I thought it was very unrealistic (yes i know its dinos lol, but i mean the world and how things work and how ppl act, who does what ect) I saw up until were nick comes back and everything has changed and only him and his wife knows which i found interesting and were she tells stefhens grave dont worry indicating a cloned version will return but there is to much sillyness i this show and I hear they have killed nick off? wtf he was the main draw for me, the only realistic character really. like I said the few points i liked got me through the bits i hated but with nick gone i think i wont bother continueing, i didnt bother at first but i caught a marathon repeat day on itv4 one day so saw series 1 and 2 i think. but from what ive read all the bits i liked are now gone in the new series, so only the sillyness is left lol
cyberdrunk
It is actually explained why all that stuff happens. This is a family show, so 'silly' stuff will always happen. As for the cast changes? It happens in most shows, Douglas Henshall wanted to move on and to be honest by the end of the series he wasn't really missed, as Jason Fleyming did such a great job. Watch series 3, its much better!
