  1. I would say so, yes. Talks normally don't start after standard opening anyway, so the time slot for morning talks is rather small in general. Thank-you! Won't be in London until the afternoon and was worried I would probably miss it.
  2. Wasn't the Crib just wonderful in every one of his episodes? What a wonderful actor! He's is my favourite companion ever, without a doubt!
  3. GERONIMO!!!!!!!!!! Matt Smith is going to be epic, you just watch! New Series Trailer
  4. I wouldn't bother with what it says, its to written to get a reaction. This David Lowe has to be a fan who must of had a bad experience. perhaps he expected a chat with Barrowman while 100's of people waited behind him, I don't know! Seems strange as Autographica got a good review. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/featu...not-Waynes.html
  5. The Doctor wasn't evil in the Waters of Mars, he was just very arrogant and had a air of superiority about him. That is what The Doctor has been like ever since the first episode in 1963. From the first story onwards, Hartnell's Doctor is totally dismissive of Ian and Barbara and treats then like primitives, trapping them in the TARDIS, taking the mickey out of them and taking them around space and time against their will. There's many episodes, with different Doctors where he is scornful of the local populous and believes as a Time Lord, he knows better. The 6th Doctor's character was all about being abrasive and arrogant. The 7th Doctor liked to play games with time, destoryed Skaro and treated Ace like crap. The new series has started to slowly develop the character back to what a Time Lord should be like. The classic series didn't potray the Time Lords in a good light, they were always arrogant and abrasive, very much like The Doctor was at the end of Waters of Mars.
  6. For those who like Doctor Who, as well as animation, David Tennant is starring in the six-part 'Dreamland', which sees The Doctor land at the (in)famous Area 51 in the 50's. Georgia Moffat and David Warner guest star. The episodes will be released daily online and on the red button, with two already out. The full 45 minute story will be showed in full on BBC Two on 5th December. You can watch it online at the Doctor Who website here
  7. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8362367.stm Star of Callan, The Wicker Man and The Equalizer, Edward Woodward died today at the age of 79. A truly superb actor, who took over the screen in whatever role he played. I remember being obessed with The Equalizer when I was a kid, which must explain a lot! Thanks for memories Edward! First moments of The Equalizer
  8. Yep, superb piece of television, wonderful acting all round and what a bas**d The Doctor was at the end! This is what Doctor Who should be about! With the amount of fans who fawn over him like he's some popstar (that's no criticism btw! It's just that i find popstars to be very poor and tacky!) I find its hard to remember what an incredible actor David Tennant is. Just watch the last two minutes and you'll find out why! For those who missed it, here's the IPlayer link Can't wait until Christmas niw, actually looking at my wallet - I can!
  9. Has anyone realised that this 'filming project' may be series 3 of Ashes to Ashes?
  10. The writers strike will be blamed for affecting Heroes at its peak, but I'd blame it on poor writing!
  11. Whack it in your diaries NOW. Remember its on a SUNDAY!
  12. For those who missed it http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/search/?q=the...%20jane%20smith
  13. It is actually explained why all that stuff happens. This is a family show, so 'silly' stuff will always happen. As for the cast changes? It happens in most shows, Douglas Henshall wanted to move on and to be honest by the end of the series he wasn't really missed, as Jason Fleyming did such a great job. Watch series 3, its much better!
  14. For those who don't know, legendary Doctor Who producer/director/writer/actor Barry Letts passed away before the weekend. He is perhaps best known for his work during the Jon Pertwee era but he was also responsible for the casting of Tom Baker and Elisabeth Sladen, with their characters of The (4th) Doctor and Sarah-Jane Smith being perhaps the most loved by fans. It's says it all when a third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures is set to be broadcast on Thursday, 36 years after the creation of the character by Barry Letts. Barry started working on Doctor Who during Patrick Troughton's 1968 story 'The Enemy of the World' before accepting the role of producer in 1969, to produce Jon Pertwee's first series which was due to air the following year. It would be the first Doctor Who series to filmed in colour and Barry even experimented with new effects including CSO (colour-separation overlay - blue screens to you and me) which may now look 'bad' but during the time was pretty state-of-the-art and very rarely used. It made Doctor Who 'cutting-edge' and scary, without the timing of the experimentation of effects like CSO it's hard to think whether or not CGI would as developed or be so widely used by the BBC today. Barry co-wrote The Daemons and also contributed to many other scripts, always uncreditied. He directed classic stories such as 'Terror of the Autons', most of 'Inferno' and 'Planet of the Spiders'. He even returned as an executive producer to help John Nathan Turner in his first series, which also happened to be Tom Baker's last. Those that met Barry always had nothing but good things to say about him and he was a great ambassador for Doctor Who, even turning up at signings and conventions when he wasn't well and offering his insight and answering questions which he had heard thousands of times before. Before his death, he had recorded a number of DVD commentaries which are 'still in the can', so it should be interesting for fans to listen to his insights one last time. he has also written a number of books in the Target, BBC and Virgin ranges. It's important to remember the contributions of people like Barry, even if you have never seen the classic series or don't even know who these people are. I think as fans we should as without it there would be no new series for us to enjoy. In the meantime, I'm going to be watching 'Planet of the Spiders' - Jon Pertwee's final story, in memory of the great work done by Barry. http://gallifreynewsbase.blogspot.com/2009...-1925-2009.html
  15. I'm still watching it but it is pretty bad. The writing is just not good enough and there are too many plotholes for people to pick apart. Hope it recovers though!
  16. The way I look at hotels is that if its safe enough to lock your stuff in and has a bed (which is important!), it'll be fine! I mean it's not as if you're going to be spending all day in an hotel room is it? Shop around on the interweb and find the best price you can!
  17. Yeah that happened to me in this other job. I thought they were going to play the same trick on me and sure enough on my first day they sent me for a AIR Ambulance! So I played them at their own game, came back and said 'I couldn't find one!'. Should have seen their faces!
  18. The thing with music guests is that they don't need the work, which is a bit of a shame seeing as most pop stars are stealing a living already!
  19. Not long to go until the season starts and we're in desperate need of more teams, we've only got 2 at the moment! lol
  20. Just sticks two fingers up to those people who think a big budget = a good film. ( ) Be sure to check out another British flim - Moon which cost £3 million but in realtive terms its peanuts for a sci-fi thriller.
  21. If you've no idea how this works, then you can read the rules and sign up here, its all free and a lot of fun, you don't even need to know much about football, honest! Basically, you can pick your own team and in each Premier League game, each of your players pick up (or lose) points due to how well they perform. You have a budget of £100 million to spend! This year, i've set up a head-to-head league which has each team in the Forum League 'playing' each other each week, with the winners being the team who's players score the most points that week, for their real clubs. The winners of each game will pick up 3 points for a win and 0 for a lose. I think this format is more exicting anyway! As soon as you sign up, enter this code - 516778-116006 - into the 'join a private league' box, which can be found by clicking the 'leagues' option from the sidebar and then the create/join tab. And that's it, you're now ready for a beating by yours truly!
  22. 'His age' - he's playing a 900 year old Time Lord not a 26 year-old human!
