MartyMichaels
Geniune question: What makes October 31st any different from any other day? It's not like you'll be the only twit in a daft costume in Braehead that day.
Turtle
People at this thing are genuine costumers - whereas my rubbish costume will work at a rubbish halloween party filled with drunks.
MartyMichaels
I've seen your Eleven costume. It's pretty fuckin' good, dude. Especially since you're not into the hobby or anything. Anyway, if I may allow myself a bit of shameless self promotion, all this talk of Gamera and Godzilla has reminded me of a list you might like: http://thepicardmaneuver.com/marty/2010/01/15/26/
Turtle
I've seen your Eleven costume. It's pretty fuckin' good, dude. Especially since you're not into the hobby or anything. Y'know what, I'll do it. I'm hoping to lose more weight by then anyway - so yeah. I'm in. I can also hook us up with a 2, if you want. It won't be great - probably an oversized black suit jacket instead of a frock coat, but it would do the job. Anyway, if I may allow myself a bit of shameless self promotion, all this talk of Gamera and Godzilla has reminded me of a list you might like:http://thepicardmaneuver.com/marty/2010/01/15/26/ Sweet. I'm gonna have a read through that just now. I really hope the guy selling these (ignore custom Dalton Bond - he refuses to leave the Bond book shelf) is back this year, he had a sweet looking Gamera that I'll want if I like the flicks. MartyMichaels
I'm ever so slightly creeped out. That picture could easily have been taken in my room. I too have a shelf of Bond novels upon which rest monster action figures (in my case Universal studios monsters, but still.) Not cool, dude. Get out of my head. Turtle
They do not normally stay there - that is just the best shelf for picture taking. I hate my shelves, I can't fit all the Bond novels on one. Irritates me.

MartyMichaels
We've already had this shelf discussion. Post #131 shows some of my chaotic shelves. http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index....t&p=1485004 Edited June 17, 2010 by MartyMichaels
Moderators DavidB Posted June 17, 2010 Moderators Share Posted June 17, 2010 My shelves are awesome. I fear the day they come crashing down. I believe I may well die from being crushed underneath DVDs.
Turtle
I keep all my DVD's in a big 1000 disc DJ case (and assorted other small fabric cases since we've gone past that number now) - so I don't think they'll ever kill me.
Moderators DavidB Posted June 17, 2010 Moderators Share Posted June 17, 2010 I'm a sucker for the boxes I must admit I've considered the big cases though.
Turtle
I would love my DVD's to be back in their boxes... and now that you can buy 15mm Spine 6-Disc cases, I've been making rubbish custom covers like mad - as soon as I have space, they're getting shoved in them. Moderators DavidB Posted June 17, 2010 Moderators Share Posted June 17, 2010 Awesome I'd guess I have around 1800 but haven't counted for a while. It's a lot of effort.
Turtle
Well, without counting the DVD's I have on region 1 and region 2, I come to 1461 - if I were to factor in different versions of the same film I'd be well into the 2000's on my own - so between us Vicky and I will be about 2500. Moderators DavidB Posted June 17, 2010 Moderators Share Posted June 17, 2010 Do you use anything in particular to keep a list of them/catalogue?
Turtle
A mixture of DVDaf and a Database on the computer (which tells us where each disc is in the box) - I doubt DVDaf will ever be properly up to date though - it takes far too long to do.
MartyMichaels
I have no idea how many DVDs I have. At least 1000. Probably less than half of them are in the correct case. It's a shambles over here. Edited June 17, 2010 by MartyMichaels
Turtle
Having to quest to find a DVD is half the fun. "You fight well... in the old style. But you've caused me enough trouble. Now you face: the Shredder!" Edited June 17, 2010 by Turtle
