This means that you'll always have something to start a conversation, or knowledge to join in one. Also, if you start talking to someone and don't click with them for whatever reason, there are 798 OTHER people to go and meet. Weekend conventions tend to involve a little bit of queuing, which encourages you to chat to new people and there's a good chance that you'll be sat on a table with new people during the evenings festivities. XD I'm in the same position at current, and I also have the double problem that my mom may have to come with me and waste her vacation trip on a single weekend (she wouldn't mind going, but she'd want to be in the UK for at least a week, which is a bad idea for me because I'd probably fail several courses).
