I don't suppose there are any film fans here who have been to see QT are there?

He's been going around London, Liverpool and Glasgow and Dublin to promote the film by signing Death Proof screenplays (mostly I think) at HMV and Virgin. There have also been Q+A sessions after the screenings of the film at those cities.

I might go see him at my local HMV this Friday but dunno if he's only signing Death Proof stuff bought in-store or if pics are allowed etc.

But from what I can see he only did Glasgow and Liverpool and that was on Monday/Tuesday of this week. No mention of London :whistling:

I don't think he did an in-store signing for London, he just did a Q+A session after the London premier wherever it was. His Glasgow Q+A was done from London via satellite link-up and broadcasted live in the cinema I think.

Well from the Virgin Megastores all i could found out were that dates of when he was in Glasgow and Liverpool

Monday 10th September at 5:00pm - Glasgow Buchanan St Megastore

Tuesday 11th September at 6:00pm - Liverpool Megastore

No mentions of anywhere else

I walked past HMV in Dublin yesterday, posters outside says he's there this Fri. The HMV website doesnt mention it cos Dublin is not in the UK and the website is. The Death Proof premiere is sponsored by the Jameson Film Festival here and tickets for the premiere/Q+A were on sale since last Weds but sold out within minutes, the bastards.

Had to be quick, there wasn't much time but I asked who would he have play Ritchie Gecko if he, not Roderiguez, ended up directing From Dusk Till Dawn as originally intended and how different would it have been.

His reply. "...I probably would have played that part anyway cos I loved the charecter so much and it's one of my faveourite films. If I directed it.... only the 2nd half would prbably have been different."

I thanked him for "doing this for the fans" and told him "we appreciate it". He had an assertive handshake.

great photo's Nicky, glad you got to meet QT, i'm quite jealous
It was only for about 10 seconds. Talking of jealous I was really pissed off at the jammy tossers that managed to get tickets to the Death Proof premiere which was followed by a Q+A session in the cinema with QT for about 90 mins. They were sold out online within minutes appartently. And man, was I royally PISSED at that! And even more so that not everyone there could even name all his films FFS :D Well, there were at least people at the signing who couldn't. Edited by nicky

On another note, I couldn't believe that some fans, instead of bringing posters or DVDs etc, instead brought tatty, cheap, plain paper scans of images of him or his films found online. I mean I at least printed mine on expensive A4 glossy photo paper and cut it out to make it look good.

Obviously these people weren't con goers or even film fans - some people will just go for a star's auto just cos it's free and the're famous when they are not even a fan.

If anyone could pick me up a QT auto on Thursday I would appreciate it. Paypal available !!
Aren't these in-store signing events usually one per person? That was the case at HMV anyway.

im hopefully going to see him at waterstones on thursday!!!

No harm in asking ! Maybe someone will be attending with a friend who doesn't want an auto ....

Met QT @ Waterstones today. Arrived at about 11.00am, waited 2 hrs in the queue (he was only signing 150 people's books) and at 13.00 went inside where we were treated to a Q & A which went on for about an hour (hardly anyone asked about "Death Proof" the movie he was promoting). subjects covered included: Kill Bill follow-up opportunities, Inglorious B*stards, and who he thougt they should have cast in Casino Royale (?).

After the Q & A, he did a reading of 2 scenes from Death Proof for the audience & proceeded to sign the Death Proof screenplays & Grindhouse books.

Since everyone was asking him about Kill Bill, Pulp fiction & Reservior Dogs, I spoke to him about Lucio fulci movies (his "Grindhouse" label bought Fulci's "The Beyond" a few years ago & it was romoured that he was at one point going to remake Fulci's "The Psychic"). He said that a certain scene (will be a spoiler if I reveal it here & people will moan) in Planet Terror is an homage to a notorious scene in Zombie ("Zombie Flesheaters" in the UK). If you want to know what I'm talking about, grab the hardback "Grindhouse" making-of book & look at the back cover.

All in all, a top guy, very happy to see everyone, very friendly and talkative. Well worth the time and effort.

Anyone else make it to the Waterstones signing?
