  1. Name: Debz Age: 34 Where are you from? Manchester, England Which of the 2 series do you watch? I love both series' on their own merits. Ultimate guest you want for the event? Ooh, that's a toughie. Robert Carlyle and Silas Weir Mitchell are high on my list. What ticket will you get? Silver Have you been to ME cons before? No, but not for the want of trying, believe me. Previous cons: In the past 8 years, loads of non-ME conventions all over the UK but never a dedicated convention such as this. Fave movies: The Aliens quadrilogy, the Predator series, almost anything by Mel Brooks or the Zucker family, Marvel comics movies and loads others besides. Fave music: Anything except most classical music, opera and most modern chart music. Other interests: Baking, Cosplaying, chatting with friends, cuddling with my dog and cats, going to the theatre, watching films and TV, making friends, reading, writing & laughing.
  2. Thankyou for trying so hard and being honest and up front with us, SM. The cost of some of the overseas guests is simply extortionate-well done on not giving in to them (or whoever it is demanding such silly amounts of money)! Its a shame the con isn't going ahead but I'm not surprised. Adding my voice to the multitudes, could we pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease have a Being Human convention now? *tries not to look like she's begging and gives in to a tentative hope* They fully deserve our adulation as they're all such wonderful people and so willing to engage with their fans as a whole or one-to-one, be it on Twitter, through the BBC Being Human blog or face to face at events. Thankyou again for letting us know, SM. KC
  3. Very true, I'm sure sure the agents are hard at work etc, and I'd love it to go ahead, Lisa, but I'm just not getting my hopes anywhere near up. Housebroken's cancellation devastated me so I've tried not to invest too much of my energy in this one. Pity is, it would only be my sisters 2nd convention and she was extremely excited and optimistic. I'm more upset for her than myself. Sorry if I sound negative. Don't get me wrong, I'll be as made up and excited as anyone if it does happen, but I'm just not pinning my hopes on it right now. As you say, a postponement is more likely if it doesn't go ahead. Its just a matter of if the rescheduling clashes with something down the line so fingers crossed it won't. Who knows, maybe "no news is good news" applies here. KC
  4. Well... 10 days are well and truly gone and so too, I'm guessing, is this Con. *Locks that tiny glimmer of hope away for use at another time* On the bright side, if its cancelled, its less disappointing this way as we had no-one to look forward to in the first place, right? Also I'm beginning to wonder if we'll ever manage a Being Human Con of any kind... *sigh* So, even if its a postponement and not a cancellation, do we get a full refund on tickets & hotel? KC
  5. Any news yet? I've not missed anything have I? *reads back then checks the whole forum* KC
  6. Bless ya, Cosmic! Thankyou so much for your countdown! Lets hope we get to keep the convention and you can continue to the big day(s). hugz, KC
  7. I understand the many complex reasons mentioned that are behind the delays but I'm now beginning to get less excited. While I'm desperately hoping this Con goes ahead (and please excuse the sentiment - but right now I don't even care a jot about this big, rare, special guest as ANY guest from any of the three shows would be a blessing) it really feels like we're going to lose this one too. :/ I'm wondering who on Earth this extra special guest might be though as no one individual person spans all three shows so far as I'm aware. Oh well, we have a couple more days to wait for an announcement. I hope against hope that I'm wrong our lovely Showmasters. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts. *crosses fingers, toes, eyes, arms and legs* KC
  8. Thankyou for letting us know the situation, Jason. Its certainly a weight off my mind, and perhaps other people's minds too, to know a little bit of what is going on. I really, really hope that your extra special headliner guest is available at some time, even if its not in time for the current dates, just so it doesn't have to be cancelled outright. *crosses fingers, toes, eyes, arms and legs* Wonder who it might be... I suspect someone from Supernatural as that's probably the best known of the three shows. It does sound like there are struggles going on to actually get many guests from any of the shows though I hope thats not the case. Hmm, I hope a lot these days, don't I? Hehe, I think I'm just desperate for a Being Human convention even if its only a partial one. Ignore me. KC
  9. Only 3 days and a few hours to go folks. I'm incredibly excited already, might explode before Sunday! lol KC
  10. Hi gang. Any news m'dears? I've gone and bought & paid for almost everything already, including tickets, hotel, extra costume requirements and things of that nature... and am now getting quite worried as there's a little over 2 months to go and still no guests appear to have been secured. Eep. Sorry, I understand these things take time and careful negotiations. I think I'm just scared after we lost Housebroken last year that yet another event (partially, this time) for Being Human might be cancelled. Please excuse my paranoia you lovely folks. On the plus side, my sister who pestered me to get her tickets and all, is unruffled. maybe I should take a leaf from her book? Yes. yes, I should. *wanders off to obsessively refresh the guest page of the website* Oh and, erm Happy New Year! Hehe. Did everyone have a good one? make any Resolutions? KC
  11. Hehe, I can bring a red sharpie marker if you like. lmao Doesn't get lazier than that. KC
  12. I'm already signed and sealed for Roadhouse2 (accommodation excepting, need to sort that asap) almost solely for Being Human but for me, and it seems loads of you lovely folks too, Housebroken would be a million, trillion, gazillion times more appealing! Can we have Housebroken back please Massive Events? Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease with a vampire cherry on top?! *drops to her knees and begs* Even if its only a 2 day-er or something, doesn't have to be all three days. Pleeeeeeeease? Heck even one day would be a start and maybe that way it would introduce the idea gently to those BH fans who are a bit reluctant based on either what they perceive to be too high a cost or the dreaded Star-Trek connotations most non-con goers have about the word Convention. *regains her composure* Ahem, sorry about that. It occurred to me that maybe Showmasters/Massive Events are waiting to see what the BH fan turnout for Roadhouse 2 is first. But our show has a strong following so hopefully they'll think its worth another try at having our Con later next year. KC
  13. Thankyou both very much for your replies Etmuse and DavidB. Sorry, I obviously wasn't thinking logically there, was I? Hehe - mainly because I'm 99.9% focussed on Being Human methinks but yes, it makes sense that the overseas guests have travelled so far, they may as well make the most of it.. I'm really looking forward to this. *bounce* KC
  14. I haven't found this information anywhere so my apologies ahead of time if it has been posted and I've misunderstood or missed it, but how will Roadhouse work in respect to the guests? Will there be a day set aside per show, ie Supernatural guests on Friday, Vampire Diaries guests on Saturday and Being Human guests on Sunday, or will all three shows be represented more-or-less equally over the three days? I suspect the latter but being new to these kinds of SM events, I could be way off the mark. It wouldn't be the first time. Thankyou in advance of a reply. KC
  15. Hehe, maybe you could be a regular non-supe nurse but with a few arm scratches? LOL Not, of course, real ones... painted on. Ooh, forgot those... but won't have room for scars under all the fur. Excited already!!*bounce* KC
  16. Heh, costume almost completely sorted already (an update of the one I was originally gonna use for Housebroken) - werewolf nurse! Got the scrubs, fob watch, fangs, lupine yellow contacts, claws and fur etc. Hehe... just waiting for advice from a friend on the application of muzzle and I'm done, methinks. Ahem, I'm not excited in the least of course. *bounce-bounce* lmao Miss Ragamuffin - Wow, you're gonna look amazing, I reckon. Hehe. SJ - LOL Hope you don't go falling over, hunny, but it will, as you say, authenticate your costume. lmao BigPants - Well, it sounds like it'll be worth staying for the Sunday night, hun. Hope I get to meet you face to... muzzle? lmao xxsianyxx - Hehe, that would be very fitting to the scene so why not! Hope you can make it m'dear. KC
  17. I'm definitely crossing my fingers that Russell can make it to RoadhouseII! Aside from his awesome bottom (a fact on which we are all agreed, it seems) he is one of the nicest, friendliest, kindest and most gracious guests I've ever met. I will be buying my ticket - depending of course whether I can get the time off work for it - whether or not he is announced but I'd love it if he were able to attend. A BH section of the con just wouldn't be the same without him. KC
  18. Ohh, I'd absolutely love every single one of them to be able to attend, but in the end I had to go with: Russell Tovey (always my fave!) but all would be amazing. Jason Watkins (I cried when Housebroken was cancelled as I was desperate to meet him) - second Sinead as she is a complete angel Dean Lennox Kelly (see above, same reason & he's gorgeous!) But I was talking with Dylan Brown and Sama Goldie in May and they were both extremely keen to attend a BH convention so please, please can we have them and as many others (Paul Kasey, yes please!!) as you can too if possible? Um... any chance of Toby Whithouse, Matt Bouch, Colin Teague, Marcus Whitney or other behind the scenes geniuses? Ahem, gone all fangirly now, sorry. *is excited* KC
  19. Yeah so I saw, Aidan Turner and Tumblin' Colin Teague will be there too! And also Paul Kasey who plays BH's werewolves! Damnit, I'm desperate to go but sadly I already know work won't let me have the time off 'cause one of the other people who do my job is off for the duration of July. :'( Gutted. Will you be going hunny? KC
  20. Oh please, please, please give us this chance to have a convention, combined or dedicated! It was so depressing when Housebroken was taken away from us - please give us a chance at a real honest-to-goodness Being Human convention to honour what can only be described as a real phenomenon. And Primeval, one of my other all time favourite shows, deserves to be honoured! It was going for three full series', garnered a huge following and, well, what better way to celebrate its return from extinction, right? I have to say I've not watched Sanctuary yet but now you've introduced me to it now Lioness so I won't be long off being a fan, I'm certain - since you always have impeccable taste in shows. However, that's a good point, DavidB, about the overseas guests of Sanctuary pushing the price up. That could wind up being counter-productive, I suppose. What about other shows of a (mainly) UK base then if Sanctuary might be too expensive? Surely not Demons! lol Maybe... um, trying to think of other supernatural/sci-fi type shows popular enough to complete the trio and drawing a blank. Hehe. Personally, I'd hope for one for "Strange" (a cool little supernatural show whichonly lasted one series before it was sadly cancelled) but I think that might just be me. Plus it might be a little too long ago for the actors involved to still be happy to do convention appearances. But whatever show it was, if not Sanctuary, it'd have to be a sci-fi or supernatural show to fit the feel of the con, do you agree? To be honest, I was more than willing to pay the price for Housebroken because you did get value for money - the cost of autographs alone would have been higher - I spent in excess of £200 on autographs at another recent SM convention but got to meet the wonderful Sama Goldie and the adorable Dylan Brown so twas more than worth it! That makes the £135 Silver Ticket I bought a bargain, doesn't it? But having said that, it's inevitably true that the prices were a defining factor for a lot of our fellow Being Human fans deciding they were unable to go. Reddragon, I would love a dedicated Being Human convention too, with all it had to offer but its just not gonna happen right now. I'm not sure I can afford any more cons this year, mind you. If they could get is one for next year though... dedicated, combined or what have you, I'd find a way to be there. Doesn't matter who its combined with. My Being Human t-shirt(s) would be coming with me. KC
  21. Ohh, yes please! I adore Alex Winter! To have a chance to meet him would simply be be brilliant! KC
  22. Hey Big Pants!! Guess what? I've managed to get the time off work and I'm coming to MK!! Woohoo! I can't wait to meet Dylan and Sama and a few others. I'm only there Fri and Sat but looking so much forward to it! *excited bouncebounce* Are you still going hun? ^^ KC
  23. Sorry for the delay in reply, Big Pants. I'm in Manchester - well near to it. Sadly, as it stands right now, I can't get the time off work. I think I'll try to have a word with the other person who's booked that time off and see if she'll be able to swap holidays... you never know, do you? For me, the chance of meeting Dylan and Sama is too important to be let go so easily. KC
  24. Ohh you don't know how badly I want to, hun! LOL Seriously. Alas, since I've not tried to book the time off, that could cost me my job. Bleugh. KC
  25. Whee! Same here. The problem is I can't get the time off work. *sighs* I can't bear to have to miss Dylan Brown and Sama Goldie again. KC
