  1. You are right, as LFC IS my holiday abroad every year. Some people spend 1000s on a motorbike and then never ride it, do you say the same to them? Yeah, the logical is irrefutable but hardly going to win any fans on this board as we are all die hard collectors of those squiggles!!!!!
  2. That's worth knowing. I'd only want up to 10 hours so looking at 25 quid if memory serves as opposed to a day tube ticket from Heathrow that costs what, 10 quid? May well go for the parking then as I'll have a fair few items I'd rather not lug around London!
  3. Bottom line you go for who you like most, I wouldn't let other factors get in the way such as who may or may not do another one - especially if there are other guests you would rather meet. I've read about visitors going for a Stan Lee auto just because it's his final European one, even though they're not particularly into Marvel! So basically, ask yourself -of your short list who would you most like to meet?
  4. Can't wait! The timetables being issued is the point when I start to finally comprehend that the con is on!
  5. It all depends on whether it is cheaper than public transport. For me it's worth it. as more than one of us are in the car and splitting the £50 parking fee works out much cheaper than 2 days on the train and tube each. Plus it's much more convenient not having to lug all your stuff around on the train. I was going to go for the parking option, but isn't the traffic in and out of London a bit of a mare? That would be enough for me to go the tube route instead...
  6. I was going to drive to Earls Court and park there, but I gather the traffic is a bit mental so have been warned against it! I'm now going to be parking at my mates house near Heathrow and will likely tube it across London - anyone got any experience of that and how long I should factor in to my travel time?
  7. I'm sure there will be a few out in the wee small hours in the queue, but tOhey won't enjoy what will be a very long day as it can get verrrry tiring! I'll be there for 8.30 am - Stan is an immensely fast signer by all accounts and won't want to disappoint his fans, so I'm sure anyone who gets an early bird and arrives before 11 is guaranteed a signature.
  8. Is there any clarity re CGC for Stan Lee signed comic books? I recall briefly seeing a post about a firm going to be there doing this, but post was removed due to advertising restrictions in the forum. Can SM comment on the CGC service to be provided at the show and the price? I imagine there will be a big take up for this and cost budgeting is essential at this close proximity to the show!
  9. That's small fry! I once got Mads Mikkelsen to sign a Casino Royale Banner over 6ft long at a prior LFCC -you'll have no problem with that one!
  10. Would Dave only be signing the graphic novel/comic books, or would he also sign my Watchmen DVD?
  11. So with the iron throne- is that a fiver per person or per photo? Was maybe thinking of getting a shot with me sat on the throne and my wife on my lap? Is that even permitted, I would have thought that even collectively we still weigh less than Robert Baratheon!
  12. Sorry to hear this - was looking forward to meeting him and maybe getting a sketch or two!
  13. Yeah your absolutely right, but my weight is always going up and down, so it helps to set myself these little targets!
  14. Another thing I'm thinking about is whether to stand up straight next to Stan lee or bend down so I'm at the same level as him (as he's likely to be sat down) I remember with William Shatner that he was sat down, so my wife and I bent down either side of him and it looked like we were sat together on the photo. I've seen some photos of Stan though with people stood up straight next to him and they look pretty good...decisions, decisions...
  15. I'll never forget being in a sci fi shop in a market and this vagrant stops by and starts shouting at me for wasting my money on this expletive rubbish! Yes he was right, I should have been spending it on meths or booze! I enjoy the cons and have been prone to indulge in a bit of overspending but what the hey, I work hard for my money!
  16. So, 5 or so weeks to go, you've booked your photoshoots with the various celebrities. I'd be interested to know what people do in advance of the shoots in terms of maybe getting in shape or buying new outfits etc? Or do you just rock up on the day and that's that? Personally, I used to carry a bit of weight and those photos where I was carrying a few chins, I can't bear to look at myself, let alone show friends! "Look who I met!" "oh it's Mike Tyson - but who's the big guy next to him??" So nowadays I ease up on the junk food, do a bit more exercise and the results show in the photos! Be interested to hear other people's pre-photo rituals!
  17. 1 comfy footwear 2 a drink 3 some folder to carry your autos/photos 4 tickets! 5 deodorant - not so much for oneself as perhaps others, it can get very hot and smelly!!!!
  18. Super guest -definitely worthy of the "legend" status too. Not for me this time as I've met him previously but with George attending what are the chances of a Dawn of the Dead cast reunion? I still need David Emge and Scott Reiniger for my poster (hint hint)!!!!
  19. Perhaps the price increase will make the extra photos too unaffordable for many people? If that's the case, maybe the recent concern about Stan having less time to sign is unwarranted? Can SM confirm how many extra photo tickets have been released?
  20. Good advice thanks guys I think my anxiety is heightened probably just due to the fact that I'm only attending for Stan Lee, so it's not like I can have other guests as a sort of consolation prize if I miss out on Stan! Hopefully you're right and Stan can zoom through his autos, so everyone leaves happy!
  21. Maybe Friday is the way to go Early entry may get me in for 9am, but the gold pass holders would get priority entry for VQ tickets. So even then I could end up with a high VQ number, which wouldn't ordinarily concern me save the number of times he will need to leave the signings for the various things mentioned in my first post...
  22. Ill be attending on the Sunday only for Stan Lee, but I'm getting increasingly anxious that I won't get a chance to meet him, especially now a further photo shoot has been announced. So that's now 3 photoshoots, an audience with talk and no doubt some time for him to do private signings etc I don't have a gold or silver pass either. What are other peoples thoughts on this? Anything SM can say to reassure me?
  23. With the 2 halls being used and the vast numbers attending, I'm concerned that there is clear guidance about where to queue to get entry each day and at that, entry to where we need to go for certain things. I recall horror stories from past events with security/venue staff (and to be clear NOT SM staff) letting certain queues go in first which have meant people who had queued from the early hours were let in after people who had just rocked up much later. I personally have experience of security staff opening certain gates on one side of Earls Court (yes, I was queuing that early) and not the other (where I was queued) until much later, which meant I and other people who'd queued at the one gate couldn't get as good a place in the main queue. What can SM do to put my/other peoples minds at ease about this potential issue?
