  1. Those complaining all still stumped up the extra fiver to meet him. If you were that miffed, why didn't you vote with your wallets and not meet him? Don't give SM to authority they need in order to do this again in the future
  2. I don't really see the issue here. They pay the same fee as us and the guest benefits from their fee. If I were a guest and someone handed me 30 things to sign then I would happily do it. Without dealers, I wouldn't be able to get half of the autographs I want. I don't have time to hang around at stage doors or stand in the freezing cold rain at a premiere all day. More than happy for these guys to do the leg work for me for a small premium.
  3. Did none of you see the giant car park right next door at Asda? You know the one, could probably hold another stadiums worth of people Parking at MK is better than at any event. You are complaining for the sake of complaining
  4. Potato puhtato. Ok, in YOUR opinion who would YOU consider a Star Wars actor/actress/creature that would warrant a thread of this type? Hamill McGregor Neeson Lee McDiarmid JEJ Lawson Oz Not Shimi friggin Skywalker
  5. It depends if you're a Star Wars Fan or not. Clearly I'd prefer it not to be anyone from Game of Thrones or Doctor Who (as they are shows I don't watch) but I don't begrudge those who are Fans of such Fandoms, it would make for quite a dull society if we all liked the same thing would it not. Well in my case I would think that Pernilla August would be a very intresting announcement cause of her wide range of acting (and offc me being from sweden). And if she had a talk that would be very intresting indeed. In this forum she would be known very much for her acting in Star Wars, but she is so much more than that. True there are other Actors who apart from their obvious most well known role have starred in other things. Even if I were a Star Wars fan I'd be disappointed if she was the 'very cool guest' She's not the calibre of guest that would warrant a thread hyping up her appearance so thankfully it's likely someone to be a bit more exciting This just goes to show you're not a Star Wars fan otherwise you'd understand the significance of her role. Last year this same kind of thread saw Peter Dinklage being announced? By all accounts he is in Game of Thrones, and not being a Game of Thrones fan I was disappointed that it wasn't something to do with one of my fandoms but I kept quiet about this so that those who were delighted wouldn't be insulted. Hah, true! She would be a brilliant guest though. I'd be the first one in line to get a "Fanny och Alexander" picture signed. Totally :) Of course I'm a Star Wars fan. What gives you the right to always dictate who is a real fan and who isn't? Regardless of who she actually played in the movies, her role was hardly significant. She hung out with her son, let him wander off with a stanger and then died tied up to a rack. Total screen time of like 10 minutes. Not the sort of guest that warrants a thread like this. Fact

  7. Wow, I'd certainly hope the upcoming guest is a bit more interesting than Pernilla August. That's gotta be the dullest guest suggestion ever
  8. When can we expect to receive our show tickets? I've received my Stan Lee photo shoot tickets but not my entry ticket for Friday. Shop website has been showing as 'Ready for dispatch' since 12/12/13
  9. I think Lee's greatest early works are the first 60ish issues of the Fantastic Four and also the early Journey into Mystery/Thor stuff. It's equally important that you are also reading books with artwork by Jack Kirby. Lee and Kirby were pretty much the Lennon and Mcartney of comic book creators and worked very closely for a number of years. Their run on F4 is legendary and Kirby's artwork in Journey Into Mystery is especially epic. The Cap/Iron Man stories in Tales of Suspense are also fantastic. Much better than the solo issues that followed once they branched off into their own books The essential marvel books are a great and cheap entry point into early Marvel stories. Each book runs for about £10 but usually consist of 30 or so issues. The artwork is in black and white which is a turn off for some, but is also a way to see Kirby art as close to the original pencils as possible. Check them out on Amazon.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Essential-Thor-Volume-TPB-v/dp/0785118667/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1390989026&sr=8-6&keywords=essential+marvel+thor http://www.amazon.co.uk/Essential-Fantastic-Volume-All-New-Edition/dp/078513302X/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1390989077&sr=8-9&keywords=essential+marvel+fantastic+four They can also be found pretty cheaply on eBay This is also a nice book that just came out last week. Contains the origin stories of most of the classic characters. Pretty much all of them written by Lee. I'm thinking of getting mine signed as its a nice collection of all of the important Marvel stories in one book https://forbiddenpla...el-origins-60s/
  10. She was great. Super friendly and took time to answer questions and pose for a photo signing my book. Was really happy I met her
  11. Is this serious? Things don't always go to plan, even in a professional environment... Completely serious. You hype an announcement and give a time to announce it. 27 minutes go by after that time with no announcement. Feels pretty unprofessional to me
  12. Incognito are usually at SM events. They are probably your best bet
  13. And would you be prepared to spend 100's of pounds to pay for his Autograph? Because lets face it, he's a MAJOR Hollywood player and theres no way his Auto would be around the £30 mark. Of course I would. Who in their right mind would expect his autograph to be £30?
  14. My money is on Harrison Ford. He's done a bunch of private signings, just a matter of time before he does a public signing
  15. Incognito Comics http://www.incognitocomics.co.uk/default.aspx?content=home
  16. Please post this crap in the right place. There is a forum called Guest Suggestions which is where most of your spamming belongs
  17. Dear Showmasters I write to you in the hope that one day you will bring the mighty Doug Jones to a UK con. Doug is best known for his role as Abe Sapien in Hellboy, Silver Surfer in the Fantastic Four sequel and his multiple roles in Pan's Labyrinth. Other notable appearances are... Batman Returns Tank Girl Mimic Mystery Men Men in Black II Doom Legion Doug is very active on Twitter and expressed real interest in attending a show masters event based on my conversations with him... "Dear @showmasters Please talk to @actordougjones and invite him to attend a con in the UK. We'd love to meet him!" "@mymightymarvel @Showmasters I'd love to come meet you, too, precious M.M.M.!!" Come on Showmasters, make this happen. I'm sure there would be loads of people who would love to meet such an amazing guest
  18. This thread is ridic. The guy just took home $50 million dollars for The Avengers. He definitely won't be coming to meet you at Milton Keynes
  19. Big thanks to Jason and Gary (and the SM team) for hosting a really special day at Elstree. I had an excellent time and thought everything ran really smoothly. I used to attend the old Falcon Society events and this is the first time in probably a decade where I felt that magic again - around a specific convention and also Star Wars. I think post Special Edition I fell out of love with the franchise but today really made me realise how incredible SW really is and also how amazing the craftsmen across the production were. The talks were just brilliant and it was so insightful to hear the fascinating stories that these guys spoke of The archive was stunning but I'm so gutted we weren't able to take photos. Jason/Gary - you need to bring out a book documenting everything we saw today, just incredible. The handwritten Lucas script probably being my highlight Thanks again for a truly special day, I'm really excited for next year and will be booking my ticket in June
  20. Oz won't sign unless he personalises. Probably why he asked you your name
