1. I had to laugh when my daughter aged 6 was deciding what costumes she was bringing with her. She chose one for Friday and one for Saturday but was having difficulty choosing for Sunday. In the end she turned to me and said "would it be ok if i went dressed up as me on Sunday?". I think that will probably be her best costume of all.
2. We are traveling from Inverness 9 hours in the train and to make matters worse my son hurt his foot on Saturday and is supposed to be resting it. We were primarily coming to meet Adam Baldwin. Luckily there are a few guests that my son and daughter want to meet. But its not just meeting the guests there is a whole atmosphere that makes all the traveling worth it and my 6 year old gets to dress up for the wholw weekend along with the other people that dress up and she loves it. So we wouldnt miss it for the world. Thank you showmaster
3. Have to say that I agree with about the two Serenity guys. Couldnt have been nicer even when Nathan was being encouraged to be quicker. Also posed for pictures even though the sign said he wouldnt.
4. Travelling down from Inverness Thursday night on the sleeper so that the tribe will sleep. My daughter gets so excited and talks the whole way down if we go during the day.
5. Have booked the Holiday Inn as there are four of us traveling together.
6. My main problem with offical photo shoots is this. All shows that do it ban people getting photos when they get an autograph. They have to or A: People just won't bother with the offical one and B: You'll get lots of people that have paid complaining other people got them for free. Yes they're paying for a professional shot but that won't matter when they're complaining. It's just a major hassle that SM don't need, they'd rather let people take their own pictures for free. Have been to another convention that has paid for photo sessions and they dont ban getting your own one when the guest is signing. Some people just like to get their picture taken with the star and then get it signed at the same time
7. I'm guessing you mean Elizabeth Sladen and not K9, since I won the K9 board To be fair though, K( was on Liz's also..... The auction was alright - I won 5 Dr Who guest boards for less than a tenner, 2 orange crew shirts, a blue one, and the MASSIVE avp banners (one of each). Glad I went now, even if they were a ballox to get home ! I might have bid on the bigger ones to, if they had been smaller 968871 Got put into outsize baggage bit. Travelled all the way to Inverness without a mark, Thank you easyjet. It wasnt the Elizabeth Sladen one it was Romana, Mary tamm board but for Sarah it had K9 on it and thats what she wanted. I agree with you about the size of the boards, we had enough problems getting them home as it was. The guy at check in wasnt very helpful but thank fully we'd got a big poster on the plane before and knew what to expect. 968925 Where did you put it on the plane... 969098

9. my daughter is now the proud owner of the only bright orange crew t shirt in Inverness. She is so proud she wants to use it for her gym class but its way down past her kness. She also managed to get her dalek and K9 boards home in one piece. Problem is now that she got to do it once she cant wait for next collectormania so she can bid again.
10. We met her when she was sitting next to pat tallman, we appeared to be one of they few who did when we were watching. She was totally different to when Mr Shatner was there. Didnt mind my daughter filming her and spoke to my little girl too.
11. Flying from Inverness with two extremely excited 13/14 year old girls, first time conventioners.
12. Alex Zahara such a great guy to meet.
13. Been checking out another web site that Kenny Baker is appearing on and cost for his signature is 15 pounds. Wondered why he is so much a GMex? Await your comments....
14. There is always the option of borrowing a child and travelling using a family railcard. I am travelling from Inverness, dont have to borrow children as I have some of my own, but for three of us it 71 return. Disadvantage of having to travel for 6 hours with 6 year old but thanks to virgin trains we have seperate seats so should be peaceful journey for me, pity her sister who has to sit next to her.
15. My little cherub aged 6 will be dressing up. She loves the whole convention thingand Dressing upis party of the fun. For Gmex she will be cinderella on the Saturday and the White Queen from Narnia on the Sunday. If you see her please say Hi.
16. I believe he has cancer. Was told that he isnt travelling so doubtful is he will be at any convention for quite a while.
17. I met Leonard Nimoy earlier this year and he was so different to meeting Mr Shatner. He did not personalise or have posed pictures but I did get a picture of him when he was signing. He took time to say hello and shake my hand. So not all "big stars" have to be the way Shatner was. My son and daughter were first time at a convention and they were disappointed at Shatner's treatment. Put them off meeting other equivalent size people.

Myself and my two teenage children travelled down from Inverness for our first time this Collectermania and they both enjoyed themselves. We were able to take pictures of most of the people we wanted to, including a great time my son had with Chris Barrie and my daughter with Andy Hallet. We were prevented from taking pictures when we were in the q for William Shatner which was really disappointing and there being no conversation exchanged at all beyond a quick hello from under his baseball cap. We found the crew helpful and pleasant. Roll on the next one.
19. No matter where the convention is us up here in the real north have to travel many hours. We are in Inverness, nine hours by train to London and Manchester isnt that much better but getting to meet some big celebs is worth the hassle except when they cancel at the last minute after everything is booked and paid for.
