this was all interesting to read now I've seen the first 2 episodes. Well we know now that Henry's name is Ben, not Thomas, so we know that's wrong. My theory about Juliet being romantically linked to someone we already know is that it's Sawyer, there was something about the way they were together, the palpable animosity.

great episode: loved Sawyer and Kate "you taste of fish biscuits"; hated that Sun really did sleep with Jae, that disappointed me; loved Jack's reaction to the Red Sox news; not sure about Sayid's stupid plan; intrigued by Ben saying he'd lived there all his life; hated Jin going back into caveman mode; sure that somehow Sawyer and Juliet know eachother from before; tired of Jack's self-pity party; loved Colleen's "am I interrupting something? There's obviously a history between Juliet and Ben, can't wait to find out more

Anyone else disappointed?
jacksparrowsmistress replied to jacksparrowsmistress's topic in Collectormania Manchester
Ah there's the sticking point. I'd be happy to shake their hands and speak to them for the reasons you've said, but I dont want to have to pay money to do it as I have no interest in getting an autograph from either of them. Yes sometimes it's possible at SM conventions, but not often. -

I have to say that this is the worst snobbery. Assuming you are old enough to recall the stars and shows of "yesteryear", what makes them so unsatisfactory ?? Yes we all want Tom Hanks, Kevin Spacey and Josh Holloway, but personally I'm looking forward to meeting Wanda Ventham, George Sewell, Dirk and Dwight, and maybe even Colin Baker (again!) Just because it's been a while since a guest was in a hit show, doesn't make them a crappy guest .... I think that's unfair, she didn't say they were crappy guests, just that she wasn't interested in stars that are from films/shows that are old. I think that's a fair point, I too have no interest in people from shows that were on when I was a kid and I think past shows have shown that the more popular guests are the more current ones. Thank you Chris, as you said, I didnt say they were crappy, I said they didnt interest me. Yes I am old enough to recall the stars of yesteryear, and I was a fan of the A Team and other shows as a kid, but I'm not interested in paying out good money to meet stars from back then, especially ones that haven't really done anything of note (in my opinion) since then. And I've never heard of most of the stars that have been recently announced. The 3 Bond 'stars' someone mentioned may have been important in those films, but I've still never heard their names before, therefore I'm not prepared to pay to meet them. The other stars that have been announced, such as Craig Parker and Mark Ferguson, are lovely guys, but I've met them both multiple times before, and so many of the others are repeat guests too (apart from Julie Benz who I'm not interested in meeting as I've never watched Buffy). I'm not slagging off the guests, I'm sure they're lovely people, I'm offering my opinion, which I believe I'm entitled to do. -
Yes SM have been very busy announcing new guests, but there's not a single one in that bunch that interests me. So far the only person that even vaguely interests me from the entire lineup is Miranda Otto and I'm starting to think that even she's not worth coming up from London for, paying for travel and accommodation etc. I'm sure there are others like me who just aren't interested in stars from yester-year. The ones I want to meet and pay out for are the current ones, people from current or very recent films/tv, not ones from 25 years ago, sorry. I do hope that we get some like that or I will have to give it a miss, 1 person isnt worth forking out for this trip I'm afraid.

Sharpies - Help if poss
jacksparrowsmistress replied to thanatos's topic in Collectormania Manchester
Unfortunately you can't buy the other colours/metallics over here, not separately anyway, but I bought a pack of black ones (25 in a pack or maybe 50, can't remember) at Costco and it came with 1 silver. Not great value, but I do use the black ones for work as well. -
I know who you mean but I'm afraid I dont have contact details for them. I've asked them before and they dont have a website or a shop, they just sell at the conventions. I'm pretty sure they'll be at Gmex though if you can wait that long.

Photo shoots - Did you get your signed afterwards?
jacksparrowsmistress replied to showmasters's topic in Collectormania MK
I would have liked to have had my Ian Somerhalder photo signed by him at C10 but didn't have time as they didnt come back till 4pm and I had to scoot. At LFCC I had my photo with Elijah signed though and it was great, a really nice memento. -
Hiya *waves". I thought it was really bad of them to do that. Luckily for me I'd bought my ticket to see Ian the day before, but I had been tempted to get one with Maggie as well and decided not to when I saw the price had gone up. I know that it sometimes happens with autograph prices, going up from £15 to £20 during the day as the guests get busier, and I think it's very unfair. If they announce a price, they should stick to it, it's just fleecing the customers.

Who was your favourite guest to meet at CM10?
jacksparrowsmistress replied to Princess83's topic in Collectormania MK
As everyone has already said, Sam Anderson was a joy to meet, he was friendly, chatty, happy to share anecdotes and even a little flirty which was sweet. Also have to say that Ian Somerhalder was amazing, every single person I know who met him came away a little in love I think. He was utterly charming and made everyone feel very special, that's how it should be done. I met him yesterday and enjoyed it so much that I met him again today, just for the hell of it (and to get another hug lol). -
Nice pics from the posed photo he seems like a nice guy with his arm around you, to me his body language gives me the impression hes happy to be there and meet you. from what I could see, he put his arm around all the ladies and rested his arm on the shoulders of all the guys. He seemed genuinely pleased to be there.

What dedications/quotes did you get?
jacksparrowsmistress replied to A007's topic in Collectormania MK
No they don't, Jorge wrote "all my best dude" on mine and Ian wrote "I'm alive!" and I've also met Daniel and he wrote "Mahalo" which is a Hawaiian blessing. -
Ian was fabulous, sweet, friendly, a bit flirty, happy to pose for photos....I think I may be in love :)

I'd stick my neck out and say that 80% of people will only be there saturday and sunday and not tomorrow, so if there arent tickets for photoshoots available on Saturday and Sunday then there will be a big problem. I'm hoping they dont release any tickets tomorrow since the photoshoots arent on tomorrow.

jacksparrowsmistress replied to obiton's topic in Collectormania MK
mmm, I know what you mean. Plus Jason had said that David Wenham was doing all 3 days and I was going to go on Friday and now it says he's only doing Saturday and Sunday. I was hoping to avoid the huge queues by going Friday. -
damn, I was planning on meeting David on Friday to save the queues on the weekend. Jason, you said he'd be there all 3 days *boohoo*

Does anyone else miss the build-up to announcements ?
jacksparrowsmistress replied to dufresne's topic in Collectormania MK
I've got the forum set to email me when any new topics are posted, so I never miss an announcement, and it's exciting to check my email and find a new one there. -
They did it a couple of years ago and I went, it was fantastic, although I did get a sore butt from sitting for 10 hours with only 2 short breaks :) Although it's showing at the IMAX cinema, remember that it's not actually an imax film, it takes up just the space in the middle of the screen, but it's still a good effect and there was a really good atmosphere. If you do go, take a blanket or something like that, and wear very comfortable clothes.

I'd love to meet some of my old music idols (and some of the newer ones too). I think an 80s convention or something like that would be fab.
